Visable

A look in the mirror, there one can see
They are not invisible, not a piece a debris
A look in the mirror, is all it takes
You are a person as real as those aches

The aches one can feel, when another diminishes you
The aches you can not see, when someone truly hurts you
You are you, I am me, we are both visible
Now let them see

My Aggravating Paramour

Stop it!
I’m exhausted by you
Always complaining, never supporting yourself
Stop it!
I’m overworked by you
Never being grateful, but expecting the help
Really!
I know it’s not your fault
Now pick yourself up, I will see you on the twelfth

They

They pronounce to me there is but no ordinary
Then how is it that being dissimilar achievable?
They notify me everyone is diverse
Then is it that being diverse to be ordinary?

They advise to me there is no flawlessness
But is perfection attainable?
They inform me it is once you do everything acceptably
So what happens when everything is accepted inaccurately?

They tell me an assortment of things
They inquire about my thoughts
But I have learned time after time to declare to ‘them’:
I want to be the me I once sought

You Can

Original Poem by Jessica Delisky on July 24th, 2011 for the My Favorite Quote
Contest using the quote:
“You can if you think you can”- George Reeves

You can if you think you can, these words always clear
But do you always need a plan, when you hold some fear?
Fear of trying, fear of dying, whatever keeps fear multiplying
Words are honest and refrain from lying
You can if you think you can

Contrast

All I ever knew was darkness, but when I looked into his eyes I saw the light.
All it took was one look, one look had changed my life.
He showed me the rising star, the star most giving.
Its fierce glow allowing all souls to be forgiven.

It shined upon a forgotten path, the one many had abandoned.
So long ago when my soul was all but disburdened.
It shined upon that which I left behind, but a path still remained.
A path I never journeyed, a road waiting to be claimed.

I had only just found the light, but the light was always there.
He continues searching for those living in the dark, stripping us bare.
Teaching us a world where all was open.
Teaching us to cherish each and every moment.

This man wanders into darkness, exposing our sight.
This man roams the shadows, trying to understand our freight.
All I ever knew was darkness, but now I know the light.
But I shall continue to crawl in the night.

You

When you felt it was time to leave, you absconded
When you wanted things over, it was finished
When you determined to start again, we started
But in the terminal of all things, it was not what I necessitated

Happiness Is a Balloon

It’s always reaching for the bright blue sky
No matter the color, it is reaching high
It’s goal is simple, only happiness you see
Usually accomplished with the viewers glee

This glee is pure, easy to find
Just look at the smile, not far behind
Behind the balloon that floats so near
Happiness is a balloon, that is clear

The balloon is there no matter whats visible
Balloons and happiness are indivisible
As one gets older we tend to leave our balloons in the past
For me It will stay until the next smile is my last

Tantrum

The sound of fear bellowing from my soul, as I shake excessively
The words are no longer words in the duel, I fear the reality
I continue to scream, no longer in control
My movements are quick, as I do not have rule
This nightmare is a reality

During the day the nightmare calms, until I arrive home
I do not wish to hurt the ones I love, so I try to roam
I roam around, until they arrive, trying to help to keep me calm
Another night, another match only to continue
This nightmare is still a reality

My tantrums contain pain, held in from others
I wish the day with no more pain,I have never wished to hurt another
I continue to try day by day, to help keep this nightmare away
The nightmares are a fading reality

An Individuals Scare

I act as if every thing is always okay
Never to tell the people I see the truth
I act as if they have never hurt me
Never to show that they have

The truth is loud, the Truth is bold
Yet both of which are in my skull
My closest friends I can’t even trust
For if I do my reputation will combust

I will never be sane, until the pain goes away
I will never be happy, until I know they will not betray
Until that time comes, it will yell and scream
Only to see them. as they frolic in their dreams

War

Blood drips from their heads as they continue to fight
If they declare it war, is it anymore of a right?
Is fighting a must with both swords and guns
Only to see which country is on their political run

Death for their country, so misunderstood
If they realized it was for nothing I wonder if they would
For a problem that only deals with a thought
There is much bronze rather than brains that are fought

Wars should be verbal, let the soldiers be free
Until that happens I hope for much peace to be
For now it is uncertain, still barbaric ways
No one knows better than when to stay away
