Survival In the Midst of Ignorance

My prayers are not asking you to

save me from my enemy.

My children have turned their backs.

They praise dance with many

Adversaries-

When they need be refuking,

protesting and rebuking.

Among-st those who fight against me-

be my offspring.

I fear not the man who

I already know to be the beast

While my eyes follow my historical foe:

Those created in my womb,go

behind my back sign treaties with known

enemies

Chiding our valuable place in history.

They do not want to know how they got here-

They do not care.The nature

of the beast consumes them.

Eyes full of temptations we

kept their butts covered,

and gave them what we could never have.

Instead of gratitude they give us latitude

we cannot reach them.

They love the enemy, like a favorite pet-

Stroking the dog and biting

the hand that feeds them wisdom.

We walked miles with no shoes -

Prayed for our families-

Now our families-prey on us

With every thing handed to

them through the struggle;

Our children render our efforts

useless and in vain.

Vanity be thou sanity

Consuming life from

the top shelves in cafe's...

Thinking non -sober thoughts-

Who knows why we now be despise.

Deaf are their ears when they hear our names;

Holding us accountable, For the shame.

Never ready for the change.

My prayer now is;

God save me from my people:

The joy that settled in my

accomplishments is now

unsettled disappointment,

disturbing !

They want to have

their cake crumbs

and eat them too.

Save us from the

 disgrace of how they

discount all we've sacrificed -

We made it through

and we have shown our

strength against all odds

How now they praise-

dance with the enemy

They drink no more

from separate fountains

Never sat in the balcony-

never knew the colored section;

Never stood on buses.

Those of us who never found a soft

place to land in the concrete jungles;

have lined your bottoms with cushion's

from the sacrifices and suffering we

endured.

Watching you again discount us as you

leave us to the ridicule of your own judgment.

As you praise dance with those

who aspire to see your detriment.

Never before have so many brave elders

have had to watch their own children rob

them of their glory and dignity.

Even an imbecilic knows when he's better off.

That's the sad difference between an

slow learner and a fool.

A fool never cares nor takes responsibility..

The slow learner finally learns.

And is delighted to be enlightened.

Where the fool continues

to waddle blissfully in his own ignorance -

Resenting all who shed light on the

error of his ways....

Those who have his best interest -

Become his stumbling block.

Difficult now for them to blame others;

With bright lights shining on stupidity--

We give them proof-

blinded and overwhelmed

by the truth-they are not interested our story

Never realizing that while their

stubborn heads were buried-in the sand.

We still have to stand-- guard

over their protruding azzes

Until my children have learned

where they fit in on earth,

and what they are truly worth

they will continue " Praise-

Dancing" with the enemies

They will continue to be as eaglet's

flapping around the yard ,

clucking with the chickens...

never soaring-never getting off the ground

Bewildered by our "diminutive etymology":

The Elders and The Ancestors;

We look dumbfounded,and mutter....

"Where did we go Wrong" ?

Pointing To the Problems

POINTING TO THE PROBLEMS
  {Bivouacs}

Beat down with legal fees
Tied up with taxes;
Tripped up with mortgages;
Ripped off with student loans
Insulted with insurance
Telephone updates.

Out of date opts,
New upgrade rates;
Food on the down-low
Carrots in the closet;
Conjugating with fake rice.

Plastic cabbage, inedible corn.
Tomatoes with fish dung
Water with lead, flatulent cows
Polluting the air.

Carbon emission:
Beyond the stratosphere:
Halliburton and agent orange.
Nuclear explosion -radiation;
Devastating the atmosphere.

I can’t explain, with no
nutrients to the brain.
No minerals to the lungs n heart.
Contaminated nation;
Sheer contamination.

Is it too late, to rise above the hate?
Tired n Devastated, tried elevation.
Tried to immunize, and fine tune
My body to this new moon.

With herbs n mushrooms.
Sun Hot, Global Scorching...
Illuminati wants hearts,
and good body parts.

Neanderthals,running back to their caves
Underground bunkers, where they’ll be safe…
Americans dangling off bridges with knapsacks;
Flimsy structures and Bivouacs
No air, no food, no heat,
Not even water safe to drink.

Like Dinosaurs and bees, fast becoming extinct.
I can’t even think, with no nutrients to the brain.
No minerals to fortify lungs n heart.

Contaminated nation,
Sheer contamination.
With nowhere to run;
What do you think should be done?

Tongue Study

Tongue Study

Tongues
Steady it wags
needing to know
more, about the
the very thing that
causes wars.
peace and pain.
I study my tongue.
Much has been said
about the tongue yet
how has it pertained
to my own.

My tongue has delivered
and served, it has given
and taken, it has blessed,
it has cursed.

It has been bitten,
and it has been written,
the tongue can be tied, twisted
curt, sweet, sharp, wagging or
bragging.

It may be your
native tongue
or foreign, it may be
exciting or boring.
If quiet is your tongue
"the cat may have it".

If you use your
tongue to speak ill
of the dead, you may,
challenge a force and
be cursing your life's course.

The tongue's confession's
may sweep out
dirty secrets from the
corners of your mind.

Wise words have fallen on death
ears, words smothered by pride.
truth escaped lying eyes.
Ignoring what you saw and
twisting what was heard.

Tongues may bond
with imbeciles or angels
forming positive
or negative energy.

Be careful, mind your tongue
it is closest to your own ears
and will affect you first, rather
before the others hear.

Be not at the mercy of
an imbecilic tongue
read their eyes
and duck the darts
about to be thrown.

Do not despise the
a foreign tongue
for it is the aptitude
of the brain, the tunnel
to his bilingual, do not
expect the champions,
to cater to the dunce,
or those who can barely
master his own tongue.

In general, I have concluded
whether you live by the sword or
stand on principals, I had to
learn to manage my tongue
as I would a loaded gun.

I will not justify my tongue
when I use its power for the wrong
and neither hold my piece,
to placate the sword of the unjust.

The real power is in
the righteousness
of the speaking tongue.

For those who live by
the sharp and swarded tongue
and wield words as death
blows to the innocent,
or those who are silent,
while others suffer.
May also die
by the mighty tongue,
or by the holding of it.!

Light Years

LIGHT YEARS

Some advance before their time, they
Shine so bright they seem to blind.

Those who undermine can never see,
Unless they change their frequency
Dull minds, can never over-stand
The brilliance of a futuristic man.

Every generation has something to say,
Yet few will recognize your worth on earth;
Especially if you’re light years away.

But go ahead say it anyway, even if most are unable to agree.
When the world catches up, and is awed by your shine,
The future will read writings, from your wisdom divine.

Keep in mind “you are ahead of your time”
So, if the world to which you’ve been assigned,
Does not with your thoughts agree.

Have faith in the future’s passionate child...
Who’ll become your disciple; Posthumously!

Nana Africa

Mama held me close to her bosom
wouldn't let me go astray
she shook the cradle of civilization
and to her wayward offspring
she paid attention.

She added a tinge of color to the cheeks of some
and tinted plenty with even more
for identification, as to whom they belonged.

While her purported gaze
stored us from mediocrity
she whispered silent pants
when our future's prowess
begun to shiver she remained astute.
Mana Africa! I call you by this name

You've nullified all bleak spectrum
situations bestowed on us
when frequent ill-health
pounded on our weary hearts
you trembled --never loss guard

We are forever indebted to your
unflinching affirmation of sheer solidarity
Mana Africa!
your goodwill seizes not to elude
Capricious speeches we confer
as we orate about the trying times

The soundbites of your caresses will never
be deserted; let alone our appraisal of celerity
The best of we your “Adeptus Children”
have supplied the melatonin
from your sacred womb
and you have followed us with
love and self determination
as we have toiled on foreign soil
Then as we have been scattered
to the four corners;
Innately we have held on to our sanity.

Stayed in tuned to our intuition
as we have maintained circadian rhythms
and overcame enough, clinging to
our dignity in one hand and our
lives in the other, still to rise above.

Nana has taught us to endure
to be courageous, outrageously
courageous we have been.
even as we achieved
Our circadian rhythms were off beat.

Sacrifices only a mother would make
from the alchemy of adoration comes her love
self-determination is the water of her blood
and she the blood in our veins
the blood passed on...a mother’s blood...
Mana Africa

Pigeon Poop

What if I told you things aren't
what they used to be.

What if I told you clichés
are not always "for the birds"

That the Clichés cling for
a reason and have clung long.

Show me your truth sandwich;
What ingredients did you use?

Smoked lunch meat and cheese
Did you eat that, digest that?

What if I told you cheese is plastic
And ain't what it used to be?

And chicken feed ain't, flies and grain
But Plastic and GMO corn instead.

Don't feed the pigeons, says the sign.
But we don't eat the pigeons here.

So we feed them, and they eat
bits of truth that we now turn down,

Pigeons fly around downtown,
Without true food, without the truth.

Show me your truth sandwich;
What ingredients did you use?
Peanut butter and Bananas?

Pigeons spread disease in excrement
With bits of nontruth, splattered all over;

Making a point about the truth the whole truth
and nothing but the moot truth “So help you, Hanna"?

Cliché' may be our only reality, because little truths
matter, relevance should never be Obsolete.

Big or small, the truth must massively
Combust into big explosions of honesty.

If you should turn your back on truth
You will be face to face with a lie.

The truth needs to matter again
Or nothing else will.

Imminent Grief

IMMINENT GRIEF

Something is wrong?
What, not sure yet ...
Tears roll....
Emotions flare,
As they keep changing.

Danger and Doom
Play ping pong
On my time table.

Waiting, watching to see
Who loses this game.
I do not want to, nor do I
"must have to know"
more about this heavy gloom.

Something is wrong
What has yet to be revealed? ---
What Is troubling me?

I just know how gentle the wind feels
Right before the torrents of rain fall.
Ring phone, ring !..

Tell me who has scored higher
In this game of table tennis...
I know how it feels.

When something is awry
I know just how it feels
When something is not right.

Suspense keeps creeping
up the back of my neck, making it stiff.
Just another way life plays tricks
On sensitive people's imminent grief.

If God Gives Up On Us

IF GOD GIVES UP ON US

Open season
the games have begun
We be target practice
Shoot randomly
no penalty

Kill at will
...if you will
Lives don't
matter to the people
you're chanting to

Kill for thrill
new sport
Kill at will
...if you think
Lives matter
watch the gavel...
justice not served

Makes no difference
if they get sacked
Big money got their backs
Now who has that kind if cash ?

Thumb twiddles, sitting down
eyes watching God's moves
"God's going to get them people"
That is what God said: He also
said: "faith without works is dead'

Earth disturbers in combat boots
Serial killers with badges in blue suits
commissioned for this mission
rewarded with loot.

The makers of tragedies on 9/11
twin towers. Afghanistan and
the embassy in Kenya ...World Trade
Center and the list goes on.
By the way who's funding Boko Haram?
They have better weapons than the whole
Naja Militia.

Desensitized people, frightened and numb
Worldwide genocide irrespective of person
religion or gender.
When bombs go off, bodies drop
buildings fall.
What if the grid breaks?
What if he does not re-create
anyone smart enough to fix it.?

Those people who one day
gets paid, to kill those people,
Who pays you to kill them people
and them people to kill you....

Somebody is paying people,
to make less people
and paying people -
to make less people etc...
until there is less people.
Only the people on the left,
are left.
And the leftover people.

Then no more people left.
and the green grass grew all around all around ....
and the green grass grew all around

IF God Gives Up ON US...

What might he do, send us back into the
black hole. Take the power back from the Sun?

Reverse the magnetic magnitude of the moon
There'll be no separation of day from
night, there'd be no more chances to get life right.

If God gives up on us it would
serve us deserving. No intercession
for your transgressions.

Just send us back into oblivion;
Erase us like we had never come.?
Dauntless disobedience, and foul
acts mocking his earthly domain
Diverging from Gods plan
Ignoring truth, man abusing man.

What if God would wait
one million years before
he launched another plan
and like the dinosaurs
we'd be - Just another species
from ancient times and lands.

What if God gave up on us...?

and sent us back into the
dust, and the only memories
left, would be the writings
in ancient books.
Ancient books no-one could decipher.

...and the green grass grew all around all around
and the green

The Melody of Love

Love plays different melodies..
Music to which lovers respond..

Instrumental, is the harp,
the flute, and the drum.

Listen with your ears, for
your heart may skip a beat
.
Listen with your eyes,eyes will
always see.

Hear with your whole being,
the melody of love.

The Drum will beat out
warnings..

As the harp beckons
to you,.."come"!!

The flute will calm a
distressed soul...

But only the melody of unity
can strike that blessed chord.

Unity and passion can
fulfill the empty soul.

While the melody of love
unheard, is sad.

Opened ears will make songs glad....
When we move our feet together,

our hearts will dance in unison
If we hear love’s melody

with unguarded hearts -
To the love we shall sub-come.

We contemplate the music
of loves sweet refrain.

Together we make music
of melodious adoration,

As our creator's love
has no limitations.

You whistle the same
bars and measures.

As I lay and calmly hum.
We be tuned as one-

We become
as a symphony,

to which our
heartstrings strum.

When My Words Are More Than Heard

WHEN MY WORDS ARE MORE THAN HEARD

When my words act as proverbs
When my verbs are heard.
When the simple become wise
When my people listen to reason
And no longer follow folly.
When my adjectives invoke action,
Instead of reaction.
When young eyes are opened
To the riddles of the wise.
When a mother's words are adhered to.
When exhortations, means more than mere suggestions!
Recognizing it as a calling forth, a coming near.
Till' those who have ears will no longer hate knowledge;
But embrace my words as wise sons
And daughters. Children of my proverbs will
Use my words to form shields against the wicked-ones.
Ones who seek to destroy you.
So, gather together as sticks In a bundle.
Noticing what we have in common, as we
Are stronger as one.
When my words call you away from harm,
And you ignore my warnings.
There will be some who will take my words as trill...
And throw the solutions in the garbage, as wasted verbiage
My proverbs need now be heard and heeded.
Not wait until you realize they're needed.
Do not look for me in the midst of the storm...
For I and I shall be gone.! leaving the sirens on.

Book: Shattered Sighs
