A body can be beaten and bruised,
but it will heal in time.
A heart can be torn and broken,
but it will mend with help.
A mind can be manipulated,
pushed past its boundaries
never knowing if it will return.
This leaves your soul.
The essence of who you are,
it can not be taken or damaged,
it can not be lost or destroyed,
it reminds you of who you are,
it keeps you where you want to be.
But do not ignore it, pay attention
because its energy does lack.
Listen to your soul every day,
it will show you the way forward,
as long as you stop looking back.

words written but never spoken
thoughts in your head not always true
decisions made then changed in a second
choices made just to make it through
complete oblivion only a heart beat away
darkness surrounds to suffocate
the light always seems so far away
caught in the depths of sadness
struggling to claw your way out
so many things in life to be happy about
why is it so hard to see
i open my eyes and see whats in front of me
time to leave the past behind

life teases you with every step
you see the light just to get more dark
the path you walk is rocky and broken
so easy to fall and not get back up
time it seems is a game
passing away to fast when you need more of it
taking an eternity to tick by when you are waiting
and we are left with no choice
we have to play the game
knowing that we will never win
left with nothing but the feeling of hopelessness and loss
so how do you make yourself see the light through the dark
how do you stop from falling over
dont be on your own
the dark is not as frightening when youre not alone
and when you fall they will help you back up
but then the question is
who in this world can you trust
especially when you cant trust yourself
how do you stop from being hurt again
really there is no way to know
and in life you have to go through the bad
otherwise you won't know what good is
through life and the world is a hard place
but if it wasn't hard how would you know what's easy
Why is there hate, anger, jealousy, deception
without the dark we would have no light
without the hot we would not have cold
without the rough we wouldn't know smooth
and we keep going every day
cause that's what we were built to do

Forgive me when I can not,
Forgive me for all I did wrong.
Help me to move on from here
to let go from what I have held for so long.
I know I may not deserve it,
I understand that it will be tough.
The road I have walked is so rocky,
The journey has been rough.
I need to let go of the hurt now,
I need to start new
I thought forgiveness
is what I needed from you.
But when you forgave me,
the pain still remained.
I tried to let go
but I was still in pain.
The forgiveness I need is there
It can only come form me
But how can I forgive myself
When the mistakes I can not see.
Still lost and alone I feel
Far from what is real.
Trying to get back to whats real
To understand what I need to feel.

i miss your voice in my ears
i miss the time we spent
i miss the smile you use to have for me
i try to pull away so it doesn't hurt as much
but every unanswered message just hurts more
struggling to get through every day
cause I know you have said your goodbyes
a mess inside how do I clean it
no one there to help me through now
on my own i must continue
single but never free
more in my life then i think of
can't get you out of my head
praying for the silence the never comes
wishing for the hurt to subside
the sun shines and the birds sing
but inside is an endless night
when will the light come back to me
when will i be able to heal my heart
