Susan Perry Poem
That Chosen Day
Where will you be when Christ returns,
Will you be in His will as He yearns.
What will you be doing on that chosen day,
Living in sin thinking it will be years away.
Will you be ready when the trumpets sound,
And the clouds part as our Savior comes down.
When He returns, He will come by surprise,
There will be no more time or use for lies.
What will you be doing on that chosen day,
Following the sins of others keeping Christ tucked away.
What if our Savior came today
And there was no more time to kneel and pray.
As you reflect on your life and your behavior
Is Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior.
You will know as your desires start to align with His will,
And the sins of the world are no longer a thrill.
You will know as you begin to see His word as the only truth,
Whether you are old in age or still just a youth.
God gives us a choice, it is ours to make,
Will you choose heaven’s home or the enemy’s fiery lake.
Do you know the truth as to where you stand,
Not confused by Satan’s lies or the worlds demand.
Jesus said, “I am the only way to my Father, God Most High,
Seek me and find me before your last good-by.
Where will you be on that chosen day,
My prayers are by His side as He carries us away.
Where will you be on that chosen day,
Think carefully before time slips away.

Susan Perry Poem
My Confessions
The best and worst of the process of age,
Is seeing the destruction of our forgiven sin.
Fear for the ones we led astray,
Fear as we said there is always another day,
I know I am forgiven, a child of God,
My sins washed away.
Yet the repercussions of my forgiven sins are still quite visible.
Only you Lord can fix what I have broken,
My sinful pride that controlled my life,
And still does on many days.
Pride that takes away the urgency of Gods truth.
False truths that affirm a sinful world that seems so right,
Pride that hides the reality He will come again.
Feelings that say what the world offers is better than what God offers.
Pride keeps us selfishly comfortable,
And then I am reminded of my Savior,
forgiveness, grace, and the cross.
My sin debt paid, a final home prepared for me.
The love of El Elyon, God Most High.

Susan Perry Poem
Jesus
The blood dripped from His forehead mixed with the tears
Of His sad eyes, all for me.
The crown of thorns bore my evil thoughts.
I put it there; He felt the pain of every sin I had committed.
I wept,
He was mocked with my words, spit on by my arrogance.
The beard ripped from his sweet face from my disobedience.
I wept,
Lash after lash with a whip made of my choices of the world,
Taring into his precious body with my hand of hatred.
I wept,
They laid Him on a cross made from my hard heart,
Over and over, they drove nails created from my anger into His beautiful hands and feet.
I wept
I watched Him hanging there enduring the pain of my sin,
His blood spilling for me.
He looked at me with His warm eyes and through the pain He smiled.
It is finished, He humbly whispered.
I wept,
My sin debt paid!
With his last breath birthed a new covenant.
It was not over, as many thought.
Oh, how I wept.

Susan Perry Poem
A Sweet Memory
I saw you from a distance, my heart stopped
Memories of a time when happiness came easy
You were there
A different face
A different place
Where are you
The wind is cold
My heart is cold
I sit in darkness alone
Tomorrow I will have coffee with a friend

Susan Perry Poem
Special Indeed
God called me to serve in an unlikely place,
Some spoke in different languages; some had a different face.
Lord, are you sure this is where I am to be,
Some cannot walk, speak, or see.
I have no talent, not even one skill,
Are you sure Lord, this is your will.
Then it happened in the twinkling of an eye,
I was given a smile that lit up the sky.
I ask the question as we all tend to do,
Why can’t they be the same as me and you.
God heard my confusion as he whispered to me,
I am truth, I am life, come and you will see.
As I opened His Word, He pointed me to His reason,
So, the power of God could be seen through their season.
I foreknew them, predestined them, conformed them in the image of my Son,
So, as you look into their eyes, you will see the Chosen One.
You will have to understand, my thoughts are not yours, nor is my way,
Their highway home is completed and with my hand they shall not go astray.
Their day is coming where they will leap like that of a frisky deer,
Their ears will be opened and with loud voices they will cheer.
They offered me a love I felt could never be deserved,
As I realized on that day, I was the one being served.
