Tinfoil

Your night in shining armor is...
Just Tin foil in the trash.
You've have been a toy of his.
Just feeding on his stash.
You say it's love, you know it's not.
But you don't really care.
It's just pretend that doesn't end.
It's just bodies each can share!
Living like you are the one...
Who's not the one to blame.
He'll break your heart before it's done.
A fairy tale... I love you game!!!
As long as no one calls you out...
You will live like it's all good.
But that's not what love is all about.
You don't stop it... but yet you could!
It's not what you pretend it is...
And it never lasts too long.
You just another fling of his.
But you act like nothing's wrong.
Your night in shining armor shares...
No delusion that it's love.
You know the truth but neither dares...
To say what they're thinking of!
He makes you laugh, it feels good...
To not have to get too real.
Your knight in shining armor would...
Not admit what he can't feel.
It does not matter right or wrong...
It just matters if you're high.
That what it takes to get along.
But you don't dare to question why!
As long as no one shakes the boat...
Or has to work to pay the bills...
It's easy just sugar coat...
Whatever gives those fuzzy thrills.
That knight in shining armor was...
The one you called best friend...
Quick he was to share the buzz...
But that had to someday end.
You think it's him... he thinks it's you.
But no one takes the blame.
There was nothing more that you could do...
And yet it turns out just the same!
Your knight in shining armor now...
Is just tinfoil in the trash...
Just another boy knew how...
To get you high and make you laugh!
You ignored those warning signs...
Acted like things were pretty cool.
But that shining armor fades sometimes...
When it's just yourself you fool.
I don't know what to tell you girl...
As I see you start again.
He treats you like some priceless pearl.
Although he knows it's just pretend.
Just play along, don't shake that boat...
It's all good you sometimes say...
Those warning signs... you sugar coat...
But you won't ever stop to pray.
I'd say something but I don't because...
You'd just think I wanted you.
So we won't mention how it was...
And we won't talk about what's true!
Now here you go... again I know...
But I'll pretend that I don't see...
I'm just a bit part in this show.
The one who pays your bills... is me.
You'll never think of me again...
Tho you knew I wanted you.
I'd warn you but... I'm not your friend...
Just some guy that your knight knew!
A thousand times this game I've seen...
And it always ends the same!
That knight in shining armor dream...
Just tin foil will still remain!
It's sad to see but who am I...
To rain on your parade.
It would not matter... you'd still try...
Then your hopes and dreams would fade.
So I'm still resigned to never find...
A woman who sees that she...
Leaves her common sense behind...
For dreams that just can't be.
The man who made her laugh moves on...
But she will find another one.
That knight in shining armor's gone.
But for a while it was fun!
Those knights in shining armor are...
Just tinfoil in your trash.
They can't take your dream too far...
So those good times never last.
Life goes on and right or wrong...
You will do it all again.
When your youth and beauty at last are gone.
That's when the fairy tales will end!
But you won't think about someone...
Who wrote you some silly poem...
Who tried to say... in his own way...
You be smart... to just go home!
Those kights in shining armor are...
Damn good at let's pretend!
They make you laugh and share thier stash...
Becoming your best friend.
But the tinfoil in your trash can...
Is overflowing now...
Yet there will always be another man...
Who seems to just know how...
To make you think it's love at last...
When just your body interests him.
He'll become tinfoil in your trash.
And you will do it all again.
But that quiet guy who just seemed shy...
Who'd hoped you you weren't the same...
Is still home alone... he should have known...
There's just some things... will never change!

Stand

It's Time

It's Time to rise above your past.
It's time to make your stand.
Be bold it's time for standing fast...
As God's voice and His right hand!

No longer in defeat to hide...
But rising up in victory.
By His Spirit that lives inside...
Have that faith that all can see.

Be the one who DOES obey.
Who no longer hides in fear!
For Jesus came and showed the way.
So now keep Him always near!

Defeated once... you now stand firm.
Against evil with God's light.
From all sin forever turn...
And against injustice fight!

No longer only as a man lukewarm.
But as purified now by fire.
Sent to boldly lost souls warn...
And discouraged souls inspire!

The gospel is what changes men.
The cross brought victory.
Be no longer as once you've been.
For your faith has made you free!

The time is now... His coming near.
Jesus has overcome!
This world desperate needs to hear...
That the Father has sent His Son!

For on the cross He conquered sin...
When He shed His blood in love!
And soon He shall return again.
In victory from above!

So be the man that takes thar stand!
Who shall not turn away.
Be a voice of reason... His right hand...
Be the first to say... "let's pray!"

For now it's time to for standing firm!
By His Spirit who lives in you!
To do His will and of Him learn...
As He commands... now faithfull DO!

Give Him glory, tell His story...
Show that ove in all you do.
And gratefull for all You've done for me...
My life now... belongs... to You!

Handyman

Handyman

Can't compete with someone who...
Is already waiting at your door.
Already he is back with you...
And you've moved on again once more.

Heart breaking to believe that we...
Had almost reached a place of trust.
To only just the next day see...
Once again there is no us.

Handyman is at your door...
And ready with his tools...
I guess you need repaired some more...
That excuse nobody fools!

Before we had a chance to be...
What I dreamed we could become.
The handyman is there to see...
What was fixed is then undone!

He knows the tools that work on you...
And is paid for going there.
At your door with the tools to do.
What he thinks needs more repair!

Again you are the broken one...
His repairs keep breaking down.
He returns to do what he has done.
There's now some rumors going round!

We almost made it past your doubt...
But there's no doubt anymore!
No leaky pipes brought this about.
And it's not that cooked door!

Insane, no shame, it's just a game.
I don't believe you were sincere...
It's that wild side that you can't tame...
I won't come back to you anymore!

You just can't commit to anyone...
When it gets real you just run.
It's sad to know you can't let go...
And your repairs... Are never done!

No anger left, just sad regret...
No chance of love that will endure...
That you can change... I would not bet.
You're too broken down I'm sure!

You can't have your cake and eat it too...
I guess it's time to stop pretending.
Handyman can have his way with you...
Your repairs are never ending!

No handyman has the tools for you...
Because you really just don't care.
Down deep down I've always known that's true.
You are broken beyond repair!

That Night

So many years ago...
Yet I remember well.
The night we all prayed... God let us know...
Then on each His Spirit fell.

The certainty that He loves me...
The presence of His love.
The Holy Spirit He set free...
In power from above.

In a dozen men that night who prayed...
In a circle holding hands.
Each of us confused... dismayed...
Ever since then understands.

The power of the Poly Spirit...
When God fills the hearts of men.
Ever since when we are near it...
We thirst to be filled again!

Overwhelmed with love and power...
That beyond description overflowed.
A glimpse of God within that hour...
That night His Spirit showed!

Ever since I've longed to be...
Filled with Jesus like that night.
The night of His Spirit filling me...
Just a glimpse of divine light.

Never can I say since then...
That I have not felt His touch.
I thirst since then to be filled again.
Nothing else is desired so much!

Once He's filled to overflowing...
A man's heart... it changes him.
I go through life since then knowing...
I need filled up again!

There's nothing Earthly can compare...
Nothing comes even near.
Inside a man when God goes there...
There is no room for fear!

I Imagine life eternally...
With God with me like then!
That is what heaven must be...
So I now live to go back again!

Thank you Jesus for that night You filled...
A dozen men to overflowing.
Each of us now live thrilled...
To know that's where we're going.

To those who have not known such love...
That you now need nothing more.
You can be filled with the Spirit of...
This Jesus we so adore!

When It Comes

When it comes at you both barrels
In waves to devastate.
When I face too many perils...
And my help... It comes too late.

When every fix is causing problems...
That before were not there.
With no clear way to solve them...
Without facing even more.

In battle best not even fought
You've given it your all...
It took much more than you have got.
You were doomed again to fall!

When you know it could of easy been...
Just a little thing if you...
Have done just one preventive thing...
That you know you didn't do!

You know it wouldn't need done today...
If you'd done it right first time.
It hurts to know you have to say...
I must have lost my mind!

Starting over once again...
With even bigger problems now.
Worse than it had ever been..
And further behind somehow.

You solve problems with more disaster.
Your mountains came from molehills.
Downhill now even faster...
On a ride that gives no thrills.

Then they say it's not that bad...
But they don't have a clue.
It nearly drives you twice half mad.
You say Jesus where were you?

Then you think about that cross.
The beatings and the shame.
The truth is clear all you have lost...
Is nowhere near the same.

And if you'd only just obeyed...
A few common sense commands...
Or worked that day you know you played...
You'd not have bloody hands.

What it is... Is what it is...
And regret won't change a thing.
Remember as a child of His...
The reasons why you still sing.

Sing not because of how things are...
But because of a God who loves.
He never lets you stray too far...
That's not what your God does!

He always has had a good reason...
He just brings you back to Earth.
It must just be another season...
Of learning what life's worth.

It's time to stop and realize...
What matters in the end.
Frustration never makes one wise...
And there's nothing God can't mend!

You got spanked so now move on...
This too shall someday shall pass.
Just one more thing to not do wrong...
A lesson that's sure to last.

Difficulties make you strong...
Overcoming them brings you joy.
Must they go on for quite this long?
And so much right now annoy?

Must be they do... Designef for you.
You're stubborn will to break!
God knows exactly what to do...
In the end... To leave you awed!

So why not skip the angry part...
And thank Him when it goes wrong!
You know deep down within you're heart.
That He'll be with you all along!
