The illness inside me

You crept up on me
All talons and teeth
No one can see you
You slumber beneath
I won't let you beat me
You are not my boss
I'm fighting against you
Won't concede to my loss
I want to expell you
Drive you from my being
Don't care if you're settled
I know what I'm seeing
So I'm forcing you out
Eviction is pending
Take your pain and get out
And let me start mending

The hollow house

In the hollow house there is no love
Memories of happier times reverberate
Through the somber atmosphere
There's no patience. No life. No fun
No little footsteps or giggles
No whispering shared secrets
No singing or dancing
No joy
This hollow house has a twin
It used to be called my heart

I step outside the hollow house
And don my godly tutu
White and pink net intertwined
Embellished with small roses
I pirhoette in ballet slippers
Satin around my waist
And as I twirl around
With sunshine on my face
I leave behind the hurt
The dank
The negative perception

I spin and spin
The fabric lifts releasing a potpourri
Of joy, hope, love and caring
The treasures encased in God's fabric envelop me
Shelter me. Encourage me
Across a floral carpet
I dance, sing and laugh aloud
Filled with his divine glory
I'm living like a child of his
Fruitful of his mercy
I see a rainbow hue ahead
And glide towards it swiftly

I thank him for this perfect day
For angels on my path
Skipping down his godly path
Exploding in bright colour
Ahead a trail of mighty blessings gleams
So thankful for his grace
So following his wonderous steps
I'm seeking supreme guidance
