Where's the Bottom

There is a bottom that is past what we thought we knew.
The sub-floors are there for false safety and reason, too.
When we get to the dirt under all the lies
and find the reasons we want to stay alive,
we are prepared to give it up and live instead of die.
The dirt we find on the floor of our bottom
is where the desires reside that have become our problem.
We made the bed and messed it up.
We tended to avert and try to give up.
Until we see the dirt below
we won't be able to reach up and let all else go.
To be on this side of the dirt and thankful for every day
is an amazing feeling knowing we are going to be okay.
God puts an exit at every choice we make.
A cross-roads of decisions that rock us like an earthquake.
When we finally see our lives are unmanageable...
that we can't do this on our own...
give it to Him and watch the change unfold.
Those chains that held us down
are now the essence of our God-given crown.
He melted, molded, and cleaned it all up.
He placed it upon our heads to show us our inheritance.
We will grow, live, love, and hurt.
All of this and we will, one day, become as the dirt.
No more pain,
no more suffering,
no more confusion,
because it'll be time for us to get to extend our wings.

Trip Wire

I have a story to tell
Where survival and pain
Literally broke the veil.
It took years to see
The truth of my abuse
And the memories of my hurt
Has given me my muse.
I fell into men that craved control.
I knew one day I would get rest
For my weary soul.
Physical pain was a common norm
And my abusers have released my storm.
I take no orders.
My boundaries have no give.
I’m locked away tightly
Behind iron doors
Where I will shine brightly.
My wires are set.
The traps are laid out.
Anyone trying to enter
Will leave with a pout.
Tread with caution.
or trip a wire,
your gift will be an explosion of fire.
You will burn down to ash
with nothing to recover.

Unto God

Unto God, my soul is His.
To pick me up
when life is amiss.
My hand is His to take
and lead me by still waters
or to walk on the lake.
You hold me up and teach me this,
I will not stay above if it's Him I miss.

What Is A Narcissist

One moment they’re perfect,
The next they turn their backs
When you start lining up
All the red flags.
When they start
it will be like a dream,
Thinking its good when
Their intentions turn mean.
You won’t see the truth about who they really are.
You’ll keep up the excuses
For why they are the lowest bar.
They have no love.
They are incapable.
They will keep you pretending.
Even when they’re allowed to sit at your table.
The people who hold you down
Taking you to the darkness of their created hell.
You can’t convince them to be what you had in your mind.
The glasses are what truly make you blind.
Excuses and lies are all you are fed.
Right before you go to bed.
They keep their old ways.
Only changing for a moment.
That is when you start noticing
You are the one that pays.
Your heart keeps you in their grasp
When we all know you can’t last.
You’re a toy they play with.
The gaslighting is just one of these pits.
You want to fix them,
You want to save,
But it’s not our job
To pull them from hell’s gate.
Their behavior and the way they hurt you
is a major sign they probably control you.
You don’t know if you can walk away.
The tears are far too common.
Take it from me and the past I endured
That nothing you say or do
Will ever prove them cured.
They are sick and manipulative.
They will drag you into their abyss.
One thing is for certain
you will realize that poison was in their kiss.

Satan Never Wins

I am stronger than you can ever be.
Satan will not get to take hold of me.
I stand in the light when you try to hide in the darkness.
I see your plan before you even know what I harness.
Your attempts to beat me down
Are not stronger than the strength He sends down.
The spirit is in my heart,
Jesus bore my scars,
God armors me.
He knows you will always try but you misunderstand,
All I must do is call out His name
And you will only be able to bend your knee
And you will flee from my mind by His hand.
For the Father has already drawn the line in the sand.
I stand on the rock that is my God
And you, Satan, will take heed,
You will be gone.

I Am

I will take your daughter.
I will take your son.
I will control their minds,
their hearts,
their souls.
I will rip them from the inside out.
From your family,
and from their friends.
They thought I was just a game.
but its you who has no doubt.
I'll take their everything.
So be ever aware,
I have taken them over.
I am the monster that lives
in the back of their heads.
I'll make them crazy
when they keep searching for me.
They'll want more.
Yet, when they run out of what I provide
so is their sanity as I set it to the side.
They will try to kick me out
and clean up their life.
You know I will always be in the back of their mind.
I don't want to leave
and may never go.
You can help them make the choice
between life and death;
between God or me;
They may find the key.
They will lock me away.
I was the drug they kept trying to find.
Maybe then, they will learn what is on the line.

To My God

To my God
To the only one that could set me free.
My path has become clearer.
I've been finding myself.
Slowly but surely
my confidence is gaining
as I learn who I am.
Seeing and accepting my worth.
Things I have never truly had.
Keep putting it all on my heart.
Keep my soul in line.
I want to be the woman I have never met.
The one that's not so shy,
sure of my thoughts,
no confusion.
So I can one go home
without my heavy heart.

The Promises Made

I am scarred,
battered,
bruised.
My mind keeps showing me
God is here.
He has told me
through all the pain,
He will never lose,
and I will have all of the gain.
He shows me that I can be whole again.
I will recover from my past.
All the pain and suffering
is ending in my heart
because God has more than done His part.
So I will trust in the Lord with all my heart,
My understanding is not to be relied on.
In all my ways I will know Him
and my Great God will make
my path straight.

The Saved Addict

Everyone has heard the stories;
The ones where we fall.
Relapse in our history
Now we just try to stay strong.
Families broken
And children hurt
All because we wanted to do something
That paved the road to the graveyard’s dirt.
The quiet user’s mind in shambles.
They withdrew and succumbed to the pain
That the drugs were the only way to stay numb…
To know they are living in vain.
The answer isn’t easy
And it isn’t one we find quickly.
The answer is to give the burden,
Give the pain,
Give up the gamble,
Wash off our shame.
We can rise again to be above
But what keeps us from glory
Is the drug’s selfish love.
The false security that the pain will subside.
That we are safe as long as we stay high.
The lies it told to our hearts and our minds
Are nothing compared to the depth of the bottom
When we pray to God for a life saving line.
He will pull us out
Of those dark depressing moments.
He takes on your heart so he can live in us too.
The power of God is all we need
To make us into something new.
We hurt alone but that’s our choice.
God is already talking to you…
Can’t you hear his voice?
Give up the fight,
He already won that.
So let him do what God does best
And save the wretched from their own demise!

Out of Balance

A breath of fire
the flame of desire.
Things chaotic
about to transpire.
Pain with no limit.
How I make sense of it
is beyond my understanding.
Yet somehow the fire is unending.
I have a sense
and with it, I unwind.
I let go of the what is truly intense.
I'm lost and clueless
where I go from here.
Somehow I am afraid,
that I will be hurt again
and shed more than just a tear.
