The Rush

She retraces the past to uncover the mystery of the many failed relationships.
The first date seems to generate some fireworks.
This entices her to tempt fate and go out again.
Sometimes there is more of a connection and other times she strikes out.
The third date things get more intimate as more secrets are uncovered.
The next thing she knows he is all over or he might wait one more date to get
aggressive.
Yet in that moment the situation has become too intense for her to handle.
She slaps his arm and flees from the vicinity.
Yet she always wonders what could have been.
She thinks back to why she struggles with a guy wanting physical contact with
her.
She admits to herself she suffers from a low self worth.
In middle school she remembers being called ugly while the guys shoved her
around.
While she has untapped this clairvoyant moment, the rush of it all still
traumatizes her.

Novel Nothingness

Reality slams you hard in the gut.
You move to the left when you should have gone to the right.
The red light suddenly appears and you can't stop.
You are up to your eyeballs in the red.
You are not only broke but you are also sleepless.
Life throws you a curveball on a daily basis.
The shocks cause your system to overload.
Too much data and damage and the processor breaks down.
Screaming in need of repair, you fall limp to the ground.
You write a want ad that reads help for beaten, busted, and bankrupted body and soul.
Seeking solace in the arms of a stranger seems like a sound solution.
As you wait by the phone, the only thing you sense is a novel nothingness.

Victimized By Old Butterflies

I walked out on you so you could walk out on me.
It was painful to see your tears but it would be worse if you knew about the scars that I didn’t want you to perceive.
A broken heart hurt by others who only deceived and took advantage of someone who wanted to believe.
I didn’t want to become a beast of burden so I chose to flee.

I am dying inside because I can’t breathe without you yet I am still drawn to you like a moth to a flame.
Yet because of my past I must hold on to this secret shame.
Sadly I only have myself to blame.
I want to love and be with you but I am worried it will turn out the same.

Rejected by the one who I love and feeling the pain that inside I will die.
Asking myself why do I put myself through this torture and say more goodbyes?
Inside I internalize the anguish that came from love succumbing to more lies.
I recall once again being victimized by old butterflies.

Deceitful Appearance

You think he is someone who is soft and kind-hearted.
He puts the needs and desires of others first.
You have fallen for him head over heels.
You think you see him again and ask him something but the man you see next
gives you a cryptic answer.
What you don't know is that he is not the noble man that you think he is.
The person standing in front of you is not there.
This doppelganger desires never-ending suffering.
He likes to see fear in his opponents’ eyes as they beg for mercy.
This one slaughters several people without an ounce of compassion.
His eyes are vacant and his heart is hollow.
He is a mercenary without a conscious who does as he pleases.
You have not witnessed those acts but you think something is up.
You find him again but is he the one you have come to admire or is his
appearance deceitful?

Fallen Angel

You look like a high class lawyer but that is not the real you.
You hold deep painful secrets that the world can not know.
Memories of a time you have long since forgotten.
Your one desire is to recapture them at all costs.
Everyone else is just a pawn to be used and taken out of the game.
You step all over them if it means that the ends justify your means.
Every thing you do is purposeful and according to plan.
Anyone who gets involved with you gets hurt.
You continue to tell the next person this truth.
However they can't see it until it is too late.
They see the jewel you are but not the fallen angel.

Popinjay

Incessant talk that bores you to death.
Nothing of value can be lifted from the conversation.
Screaming inside, wondering how long will the torture last?
Like nails on a chalkboard you can not escape.
The tongue flapping wildly with no coherency.
Wondering if being placed in the same room as him or her is a conspiracy?
Frozen in a state of a stupor without an exit.
The universal word of help is all that you can hope for.
Scanning the room for that invisible door.
He or she is someone that I would like to put on an indefinite delay.
The scientific term for him or her is called a popinjay.

Monotonous Moment

There is a shattered singular second of life stabbing the solar plexus inside me.
Holding on to the past is adding more fuel to the raging inferno.
Deep inside the anguish cries go unanswered.
Failure seems to be stamped all over my face.
I am seeking solitude so silent that you can hear a pin drop.
I am trying to quiet the negative conscious thoughts streaming through my mind.
So I can move on to bigger and better plateaus.
I know that every time I hesitate, I will only add more grief to my existence.
Finding the silver lining in all of this is easier said than done.
Fiery passion fixating on a new futuristic endeavor is my desire.
To this end I will break out of the monotonous moment.

Amorous Avarice

I am the personality that hates being locked away.
I desire riches beyond one's wildest imagination.
I have been known to get into my fair share of trouble.
In fact I live for the danger that comes with it.
I am a little on edge but don't blame me.
It is what you get when you come across me.
I can lay it on very thick or I can be very elusive.
When I see a bauble or money I can't help myself.
Material goods are all that I need in this world.
Say what you want but life without riches and luxuries is not a life for me.

Master Manipulator

Your name is known throughout the land.
Everywhere your surname is spoken, it strikes fear or outrage among the public.
You take pleasure in turning others against each other.
Whether it is family or bitter rivals, you push their buttons with utter delight.
While they fight each other, you watch from a figurative box seat.
Anybody can become a victim of yours.
You feed off on the unrelenting rage, sorrow, or faults of the weak.
Even when the victims know your tactics, you find another hidden secret they hide and
torture them.
The pain whether physical, mental, or emotional cuts so deep that their spirits shatter
right in front of your eyes.
They lash out at you, but becomes you are calm you end victorious.
"The truth always hurts", so says the master manipulator.

Neurotic

My head is swirling with a million thoughts.
Wondering are they coming to get me?
What will I do if I get caught?
I can not go yet I am too young.
I will never surrender to the likes of you.
You are the filth that I have been trying to forget.
You are the abscess that I want to expunge.
You are the reason I am in the state I am in.
I do not care what happens but you will not control me any longer.
Maybe I am neurotic but at least I am not psychotic like you.
