The Woman In the Mirror

i am here standing in front
of the mirror and what do i see
i see a woman who looks just like me
don't recognize this woman
this woman is beautiful from head to toe
the expression on her face tells it all
she smiles as if she has no worries
the woman in the mirror is this true
its true the woman in the mirror is me

Broken Heart

why must my heart be filled with
pain
pain i endured through out the
years
i tried so hard to ease my pain
but instead my world turned
upside down
the man i loved took my heart and
ran
now my heart is broken and has
turned
into two loneliness and sorrow is
all i feel
when will the day come for my
heart to heal
i deserve to be happy and loved too
someone special to have and to
hold
is all that my heart is longing for
to share my love with the man i
love
is nothing more than a dream
come true our heart beats will
become one our minds body and
soul will connect in more ways than
one I will love him until death do
us part I hope that he will love me
unconditional and with his whole
heart

Because of You

because of you
i was stressed,depressed
sad and hurt
you said you love me
but you had me all fooled
love i know can get hard at times
but the name calling has to stop
because of you
i would walk around
with my head hung down
feeling sorry for myself
this is not the kind
of love that i had in mind
how could i let
you treat me like this
putting me down must have
made you feel more
of a man
you would get mad
at me for no reason at all
and want to fuss because you
had a bad day
because of you
i have no friends
you ran them all away
beacuse of your jealous ways
i will not be treated like this
i deserve better
because of you
i am a stronger woman now
my head is held high
and my smile is so bright
i know that someone
is out there for me
and will love me
and treat me right

Gone Away

they took me away
from the people
i loved
i saw them
standing with
tears in their eyes
looking back
was hard to do
i don't understand
what did i do
who were those
people that drove
me away
where is my home
i don't see it in sight
my brother,my sister
is so far away
how long will it
before i am home again

Son of Mine

why want you let me in
tell me what's going on inside
i am knocking but you want let me in
i feel your pain but
i don't understand
i am here i always been
you lash out and
even act out at times
if i had a key to your heart
i would unlock
all your secrets
all of your fears
i am crying deep
down inside i
want to help you
but i don't know how
tell me what can i do
to make you smile
would you open up more
i love you talk to me please
come to me and i will
hold you close

Take Some Time

take some time
to say thank you
if you can stand in line
and wait for hours
to see a concert
or even at the movies
god only wants a little
bit of your time to
thank him for what he
has done for you
5 or 10 minutes
is not to much
just thank him
every chance you get

Still Standing

i am standing
10ft tall
but not in height
but that's how i feel
i was knocked down
beaten and bruised
some one said i
would never make it
but here i am
i'm still growing
i'm even taller
than i was before
it was funny when you
said that guess what
im still standing

Our Mother

we watched you
over the years
standing
on the corner
at all hours
of the night
when we approached
you,you didn't
know who we was
looking at you
we didn't understand
why,was it the men
or the promise that
they made, to make
you feel safe and secure
or the drugs that made
you feel strong to
hold your ground
what about us
and how you made us feel
we have a mother
that we depend on so much
how can you help us
when you are so far gone
we are waiting on you
to tell us why,you broke our hearts
over and over again
how many times can
you lie in a one weeks time
you said you needed this
and that but that
was a lie
we know why and
what it was all
about, we cried out
so many times
and did things
that you wouldn't believe
just to see if you
would come back to us
we love you mom
we always will

Committed

here we were
the both of us
standing here
in front of the altar
getting ready to commit
to one another
can't turn back now
it all just begun
you said your vows
and i said mine
you put the ring
on my finger
and i knew from
that moment we
became one
we promised to love
each other to death
do us part
the love we had for
each other before
couldn't compare to
the love we have now
we are now connected
in more ways than before
our heart beats will
become one,our minds
body and soul

My Long Lost Friend

it was a surprize
when i heard from you
the call you made
to me it was quite a shock
the things you said
i couldn't believe
that life had you
in over your head
if i was there
i would have
helped you,you know
i don't blame you
for what you did
we get caught up
from life and pain
and sometimes
we do things
that we regret
and wish that
we can turn back time
that's why we
live and learn
and grow in life
so that we may know
what's right and what not to do
hopefully you will learn
from you did
you have kids
that depend on you
how can you be there for them
when you are locked up behind bars
what will they say
and do when their father
is not there by there side
it is your job to be there for them
and to show them and teach them
what's right and wrong in life
may god bless you
and see you through
my long lost friend
