Our Mother

we watched you
over the years
standing
on the corner
at all hours
of the night
when we approached
you,you didn't
know who we was
looking at you
we didn't understand
why,was it the men
or the promise that
they made, to make
you feel safe and secure
or the drugs that made
you feel strong to
hold your ground
what about us
and how you made us feel
we have a mother
that we depend on so much
how can you help us
when you are so far gone
we are waiting on you
to tell us why,you broke our hearts
over and over again
how many times can
you lie in a one weeks time
you said you needed this
and that but that
was a lie
we know why and
what it was all
about, we cried out
so many times
and did things
that you wouldn't believe
just to see if you
would come back to us
we love you mom
we always will

Sad story but maybe if someone took the time to understand her and help her as a child, she would have made better decisions as an adult. She also needed love from the adults in her life. Vince

Sad topic about some areas of our culture today. So many children are going through things on a daily basis. Keep writing. Sara
