Birds

Wanted to step closer,
We friends were close enough.
She said, "You're a bird.
It's hard to not fall in love."

"But it's just a doodle
Anyone can be."
"You're different than the rest
Knows no one but me."

"Here's another bird beside;
You're never alone."
"I am until that bird is
Someone of my own."

I knew the bird was her
When she smiled and ran away.
Living in the memories of her,
Just in case, she remembers that day.
