Drowning In Despair

Blood drained from my face,
Accumulated into a scream.
Never released,
The silence was too fragile.
Dripping into my lungs,
I’ve finally found the ocean’s end.

Droplets within watery depths,
Lost starlight overlooks my eyes.
The blanket of darkness muffles my sounds,
At last I’m able to exhale.
Heart racing towards death,
Gradually slowing and slipping away.

Somebody save me from the raging winter in my soul,
If it were stabbed a thousand times I doubt I’d feel a thing.
I sleep on a bed of needles in hopes of experiencing a different pain,
But my body grew numb just like my emotions.

Damp, soddened soul,
Heavy with the guilt of existence.
Pained, shallow breathing,
Pierced by my thoughts.
Blood escaped from my lungs,
I broke the glass petals of silence.

Blackberry Ink

Blackberry ink explodes in my mouth
That bitter flavour I’ve grown to tolerate
Keep eating, continue devouring
Again and again…why do I do this to myself?

Juice so dark, so rich, so deep
Favoured in writing messages of adoration
Never received, but the intent was present
Never bitten, but the fruit was pleasant

Linger on the taste of these berries of night
Sour, unbearable, foul
Such disgust could only have meanings of hatred
Such eagerness to dine solely implies feelings of love
The insects that feed on lies consumed them both
As a child would a hot fudge sundae

Eventually all I was left with were broken hopes of discovering a piece in the puzzle of identity

A desire to keep eating, until like the blackberries, I too explode

And that bitter flavour I’ve grown to tolerate
The sour, unbearable, foul
Blackberry ink

Too Far Gone

Her eyes shone like diamond pools,
Only in distant memories and dreams.
Once loving heart intensely beats,
Exploding, bursting at the seams.

The sweet voice of lullabies,
Ever vacant, ever hollow.
The sun always made her glow,
In despair it simply wallows.

Waves of time,
Of intuition.
Ever rarely,
In her vision.
Nerium bloomed,
In her bright smile.
Alone once more,
In exile.

Her eyes refused,
No longer shone.
That day I knew,
She was too far gone.
