Autumn

dark,
whistling,
tempting nights,
consuming I.
Exhilarating,
midnight starring,
orange skies,
sinful
times.

Life On Earth

Is it too late to ask to be unbirthed?
Born into a world of greed, selfishness and fame
brings me no honour as I am without any yet
need to have in order to live
Unnecessary pressure
Can my mother unbirth me, please?
Am I here to be a doorknob, welcome mat
or shoulders to cry on?
Shoulders, yes, the more the merrier right?
Drowning whilst having to breathe another day
caught between their misconceptions,
perceptions and perspectives
none of it brings me closer to hope
Hope for my own validations,
ambitions or identification
of my own sexuality
Like I don't have my own issues?!
Excuse me if I adult cry
Every other time
Excuse me if I have to lash out
Sometimes you need to leave me out!
Get out!
Somebody, help before I pray to be
Unbirthed alive

The Unspoken Truth

Women in my family
Born and raised in patriarchy
Sentenced to bitterness
Speaking less to apologies.

Women in my family
Silenced from a tender age
Loud in ignorance
No one is up for the change.

Women in my family
I wish they could see
Homophobia is a disease
They should quit judging me.

Watch Out For Grandma

as if she knew kids were not around, she got up the board, without a sound. statuesque, she surfs with ease, self-taught hun, she aims to please, her younger self, would've won a crowd. 14 July 2022 Limerick Poetry Contest Sponsored by Lisa YY 99779 syllable count

Nights

mesmerizing skies,
disco moon, wolves howl on cue ~
inner beasts, unleashed.

Ruined

A dish full of vanilla flavoured ice-cream welcomed her sighs in the afternoon, to calm the storm embedded within. Bubbles in a glass stare in despair, as strawberries float, while the mess in her life, unfolds. River down, you tears. Canceled are plans to review televised scenes, for plagued are the thoughts of today. The mobile phone vibrates for attention, the kettle calls upon final decisions, to help sink in the sin with tea or burn the skin off the revolting memories. The tongue is too tied to scream out the lies, body stiff and still, unreachable are the blinds. The room darkens in time, as the day calls for the night, a question quivers, of how will she even sleep tonight...

Sun-Kissed

The sun kissed her despite what overcame her, under the moon.

Open the Floodgates

Locked up in stares
Silence is the teacher
Spread in bed
Time should forgive us

You caress my troubles
An invitation to my pleasures
You awaken my senses
Despite my inner seizures

Your thrusts pound on the exterior
Body gestures for improvement
Attentive but less spoken
You deliver to my inner

My sounds, your melody
Your touch, my symphony
Hands where they should be
Lips need not speak

Time has forgiven us
You've unleashed the beast

Purple Heart

Guide me to the campus of love,
a heart lost to a silent strike.
Teach me patience, I long for solace,
in hopes of tranquility as my teacher.
That if I dare fall,
cloud-like comfort will cushion me.
Welcome me back home,
tender loving care of untainted touches.
Welcome me back home,
I want to rest in the arms of my Love.
