Izintombi Zamambo Poem
Still bitten by the truth
when I attempt to awaken
my fantasies
of what could have been.
Still shaken
by the betrayal,
the minute you become
the one I speak so well of.
My mind would shape you
into perfection.
Heal all your insecurities.
Build anew, your trust,
grant you,
to fill the space, in between.
My mind could whisper
sweet nothings to your ears,
so you could listen to me,
attentively.
I'd bathe you in my love,
lotion you with purpose,
all intended for us to be.
You
belonging to me,
would not have been,
just a dream.

Izintombi Zamambo Poem
Is it too late to ask to be unbirthed?
Born into a world of greed, selfishness and fame
brings me no honour as I am without any yet
need to have in order to live
Unnecessary pressure
Can my mother unbirth me, please?
Am I here to be a doorknob, welcome mat
or shoulders to cry on?
Shoulders, yes, the more the merrier right?
Drowning whilst having to breathe another day
caught between their misconceptions,
perceptions and perspectives
none of it brings me closer to hope
Hope for my own validations,
ambitions or identification
of my own sexuality
Like I don't have my own issues?!
Excuse me if I adult cry
Every other time
Excuse me if I have to lash out
Sometimes you need to leave me out!
Get out!
Somebody, help before I pray to be
Unbirthed alive

Izintombi Zamambo Poem
A dish full of vanilla flavoured ice-cream
welcomed her sighs in the afternoon,
to calm the storm embedded within.
Bubbles in a glass stare in despair,
as strawberries float,
while the mess in her life, unfolds.
River down, you tears.
Canceled are plans to review televised scenes,
for plagued are the thoughts of today.
The mobile phone vibrates for attention,
the kettle calls upon final decisions,
to help sink in the sin with tea or burn the skin off the revolting memories.
The tongue is too tied to scream out the lies,
body stiff and still,
unreachable are the blinds.
The room darkens in time,
as the day calls for the night,
a question quivers,
of how will she even sleep tonight...

Izintombi Zamambo Poem
I've travelled aimlessly
Found myself lost to the streets
My heart screams for survival
I'm further from victory
as I drown in my own tears.
Love gave me promises
To have and to hold
Torn and tainted was trust
Air shortened of breaths
I'm a friend to defeat.
Guide me to righteousness
I'm clueless for aim
Uncover my shame
Clothe my innocence
I live to learn again.
Cater to my brokenness
I thirst for better days
Water me down to safety
Hold still to my bit of strength
I need a second chance.

Izintombi Zamambo Poem
How foolish
A woman is
To place trust on men
not deserving
Unreciprocated love
is never truelly worth it
It leaves one numb
Dampened and dumb
Lost and never to be found
Torn in disbelief, deceit,
Regrets and revenge
Damned to pick up
from who you once were
The pieces of self-esteem
You yet to piece together
To mend yourself again
Find yourself again
Energy exhausted
Woman
let them be
Fooled are they
They never stay
Yet you don't
bother to learn
As you bleed
and seek another
anyway

Izintombi Zamambo Poem
Forget not
to plant your love in my heart
like the words that align when you speak.
Convince me of the softest touch,
embrace my troubles of past relationships.
Revive my thoughts of you,
for heartaches rent free within me.
Detail me truths for truths,
broken hearts freelance as lie detectors.
Assure me in trust,
I'll swim to your love that runs deep.
Tell me,
where does your mind go
when conversations flow?
Do you pillow talk with the soul?
Do walks in the beach entice you?
Allow me to teach you, a thing or two.
Care to lecture me on faults,
not neglecting your own.
Bear in mind, I'm still human,
in this life, I'm here to learn.

Izintombi Zamambo Poem
Locked up in stares
Silence is the teacher
Spread in bed
Time should forgive us
You caress my troubles
An invitation to my pleasures
You awaken my senses
Despite my inner seizures
Your thrusts pound on the exterior
Body gestures for improvement
Attentive but less spoken
You deliver to my inner
My sounds, your melody
Your touch, my symphony
Hands where they should be
Lips need not speak
Time has forgiven us
You've unleashed the beast

Izintombi Zamambo Poem
An ode
to the Black Widow,
Oh mercy to your soul.
Walls heightened from reach,
I judge you not for your choice.
Your strength is commendable,
fear rests upon your enemies.
Like thunder you strike,
never the same place, twice.
She is tough as nails,
her heart as cold as stone,
doubtful to companionship
Love is the most unknown.
Lord grant her peace
for she lives off pain.
Rest her mind to the least,
before she becomes prey.

Izintombi Zamambo Poem
Lost.
searching for a love
to call my own
But pain still befriends me
Shattered.
Fresh wounds still bleed
A sworn enemy to darkness
I beg the light to swallow me
Breathing.
Beyond my brokenness
Praying for forgiveness
Healing made promises
Hopeful.
Better days have come
Mercy smiled from above
I think I found the One.
