Kat Crane Poem
I took a stroll around my mind today
And there I found images, visions at play:
I saw a child, happy carefree
I somehow knew that child wasn’t me
More of a hope, a dream that never came true
That dream, that illusion was shattered by you
I saw a teen innocent naive
For that misled youth I often grieve
I see a bride and her husband to be
But for me that door’s locked and you hold the key
I see the life I should have know
The type of environment in which I should have grown
You’ve taken so very much from my life,
From my sister, your daughter, my mother, your wife
You’ve haunted my days and tortured my nights
To the memories you leave me I can put up no fight.
I will never forgive you for the pain that you’ve caused
The whole of my life has been slowed down or paused
I only hope that one day I’ll see
How to trust again and learn to be me

Kat Crane Poem
Thy love rings like bluebells caught in spring’s breeze
Singing out to my heart heaven’s chorus
Such beauteous song brings larks to their knees
Humming birds charm-ed stilly and voiceless
Thy radiant smile beclouds the sun’s rays
Jaundice daffodils wilt in thy presence
Thou favour emits an opium haze
Lovers’ Lorelei reborn in essence
To mine folly I court thee with ardour
Thy golden locks weave a web ‘round my soul
Beguiling eyes yield thee my surrender
Sempiternal truth insanity stole
Foreseen temptress thy counsel I not heed
Forewarned I ne’er beheld such love from thee

Kat Crane Poem
I hate you
I hate that look in your eyes
That makes me despise
Myself for wanting you
I hate you
I hate your smile and the way that your tease
Plays on my need to please
Every inch of you
I hate you
I hate that you withhold your affection
And in that I find protection
Guarding myself from you
I hate you
I hate the feel of your touch
That I covet so much
I think of nothing but you
I hate you
I hate that you’re there every day
That I wait for your ‘Hey!’
Needing to be near you
Mostly though
I hate me
I hate that I can’t keep away from you
And that the selfishness in you
Shows only the flaws in me

Kat Crane Poem
The fire inside me has burned out
There’s nothing left but a smouldering pile of ashes
Barely enough heat to spark even an interest in life
Funny that, now I’m finally free to live it
The fuel, my hatred, is all but exhausted
You died: the source. No more passion: it’s buried
Relief brings tears. Neither of joy nor grief
Emptiness flows through my dying soul
No pain. No feeling.
Only our ashes remain
With no phoenix to rise from them

Kat Crane Poem
Red substance on the floor
Fleshy
Spatter on the walls
Dog ends in the ashtray
Deceased
Smoke pushing at the windows
Glass lying on the table
Splintered
Contents dripping off the edge
Photos torn in pieces
Ruined
Heads circling the bin
Tissues in a line up
Guilty
Run into the bedroom
Clothes missing from the wardrobe
Stolen
A single hanger left behind
Corpse found in the bathroom
Crying
A hole in her left chest

Kat Crane Poem
London rain and Texan skies
Warm my heart and thrill my eyes
Flooded streets and clouds for miles
Think I’ll stay here for a while
Bright red buses and trusty steeds
Carry my spirit wherever they lead
City bustling and cattle at graze
This is where I spend my days
Royal parks with Texas Rangers
Sounds of home could not be stranger
London Symphony plays Tex Ritter
Here is where you’ll see me linger
Buckingham Palace address Dealey Plaza
My horizon spans farther and vaster
Cockney slang welcomes y’all
To a place my happiness befalls
Union Jack flies Stars and Stripes
A family parted again unites
An English rose with roots state side
A love of each, to both I’m tied

I am not
Running wild
Generating chaos.
Organised chaos, mind

Kat Crane Poem
A splendored thing the mind foresees
Two lovers lay ‘neath the trees
Embraced in each others arms
Engulfed in each others charms
A rich thing lay there before her
More so than frankincense, gold and myrrh
Such beauty lay there before him
To love her is his only whim
To behold a touch so soft and pure
Like doves their racing hearts do soar
Oh, to float with clouds so high
Then lay back and hear each other sigh
If I were her and you were he
I’d love thee till eternity
