Majestic Vision

Majestic vision
Inspiring the call to stop
To view the beauty

Perplexed

I wake up and taste the sweet ambrosia of morning
-	You’re kisses are like wine
The day has broken and sends out its warning
-	And so concludes my reverie

The days is but a frenzied whirlwind
-	Shattered is the memory of so short ago
Racing forward like a turbulent storm
-	To meet my destiny’s challenge

Memories

Memories seep through the cycle of time
-	Lost in the space and hour
Though it seems so very sublime
-	Somehow it has been soured

The romanticism has been scattered
-	And now what’s left is only the hour
For what does it matter?
-	Strangely, the place still remains ours

So sad to say goodbye
-	Though we knew it would come
You might have had to try
-	But that has yet to come

The New Tyrants

And so there are the new tyrants
-	And who are the distinguished?
The moguls who benefited from TARP
-	The cries for help can not be extinguished

Who hoarded monies and increased their penalties
-	Further, insulting the American public
Lopping on still more late interest penalties
-	We once were an admired republic

Now, are children are but homeless
-	Who can bear to hear them weep?
The price that’s been paid is senseless
-	Many knew the problems ran deep

Denial became a common theme
-	And so is gone the American Dream

Auto Disconnect

Suddenly auto-disconnect entered
-	Like a mechanical mal-function
All too soon, I felt smothered
-	System shut down at this junction

This train is moving too fast
-	I keep applying the brakes
But I know this can’t last
-	I don’t have what it takes

Though I’m feeling slightly derailed
-	Tied to previous emotions
My heart left the trail
-	Lost in all the commotion

Out of the Abyss

I call out into the abyss
-	No reply to my query
Quietly, there is no bliss
-	Though I feel leery

My mind questions often
-	But to no avail
Imaginary blows do not soften
-	My mind doth but trail

To the dark hole
-	Going to nowhere
Lost in the dark
-	What do I dare?

To move, to leave
-	Seeking the light
Why should I grieve?
-	Give up the fight

There is no battle left
-	Combating my illusions
Bemusing the theft
-	And drawing my own conclusions

Wall Street

While Wall Street takes the plunge
-	What next is there to come?
It’s enough to make one lunge
-	Greed caused this mess to come

Though it’s nice to have the fineries in life
-	Who is going to pay the price?
You can’t take it with you in the afterlife
-	This too was the Egyptians vice

They, too, accumulated wealth
-	Who did it serve in the end?
Even though Tut lost his health
-	He couldn’t take it with him in the end

Untitled Iv

I thought our souls were intertwined
-	So quickly the connection was severed
No longer do I feel aligned
-	Only to learn it was a mistaken endeavor

Like an extremity that’s been amputated
-	Trying to learn how to be whole
I hoped our union was fated
-	Breaking free to release control

Placing my heart on parole
-	Gone are the ties that bind
I now look inward to my soul
-	And look to see what I can find

Freedom has a quiet ring
-	Though often fought for vigilantly
What will this new freedom bring?
-	By myself I contemplate quietly

No longer questioning my enigma
-	For it is much less intoxicating
Being left with only the stigma
-	No longer to lay in waiting

Shackles

Some days I wake up and dream
-	Of being free of my shackles
Lost in my former scene
-	But you say I have no shackles

It is life’s challenges that plague my mind
-	Lost in the past of my glory days
The memories are not always kind
-	They all seem like a foggy haze

Gone forever is the dream
-	To put behind freedom’s past
All that remains is a shattered gleam
-	And so too the dream is dashed

Untitled Ii

Alone in the dark
-	The stillness of the night with all its enchantment
Engulfed in the mysteries
-	So sad is it when daylight comes

Lost is the charm of the night
-	Left to suffer with the burning glare of daylight
Gone is the elegance of contemplation
-	And so I repeat my quest night after night
