Lets Have Fun
Oh how we enjoy a festival,
It is a time to celebrate, and it’s annual,
Oft at this time we are boastful,
It’s a special time to time to dazzle!
There’s no better time than at harvest,
Hopefully this year’s crop is the biggest,
Our attentive labors have been the dearest,
We can only pray the product is the fairest!
What’s a good festival without laughter?,
Lots of fun, fare and plenty of banter,
Fun for all, no time for anger,
Colorful signs on each and every banner!
Colors aplenty of hue, mostly red,
So much to see, nothing should be misread,
Take in everything, don’t be a pinhead,
Plays, mimes, games, and food, especially cornbread!
Lots of vegetables, breads, and even an orange,
The games offer all a challenge,
Most fun is the throwing of a sponge,
Make no hesitation go for the plunge!
Bright are the banners, many of yellow,
Some folks are enjoying the game of bunko,
Turkey legs are available, served flambeau,
The more one participates, the more they glow!
Best to see are all those wondrous costumes,
No doubt they were held for this day in cloakrooms,
One came also enjoy various scented perfumes,
Ah, what scents are sniffed from those plumes!
Last not least is heard the joyous music,
All melodious, some serious, some classic and some comic,
This day is one of happiness, it is a classic,
None to compare with, this day is epic!

Marvin Lohmeyer Poem
Courage
Constant displays of spirit
Never in the vein of the culprit.
Ongoing capacity to overcome strain
Never over-run by any sprain
Unrelenting to be broken by failure
Never undone always finding an answer
Resilient to opposition
Never defeated demeanor of a chaplain
A temperament true to one’s morals
Never at a loss to stand up to evils
Genuine firm determination
Never weak always a bastion
Enduring tenacity to achieve
Never give up, with the power to believe

Marvin Lohmeyer Poem
The Truth About a Mirror
It's usually hanging from the wall,
It isn’t placed there just for sprawl,
It’s not an item or catchall...,
The truth about a mirror.
This wall piece will reflect an image,
The reflection may be new or vintage,
Often it can be a display of knowledge...,
The truth about a mirror.
That representation is a dead ringer,
Could it be it displays a boaster?,
Is it a replica of an author?..,
The truth about the mirror.
Most often it reflects the likeness,
Ageless, callous, cuteness, calmness, or coolness,
The reflection is but the object’s canvass,
The truth about a mirror.
That sight in the mirror is an effigy,
A mere figure of ourselves, often amply,
Most often just the truth and and our beauty,
THE TRUTH ABOUT A MIRROR.

Marvin Lohmeyer Poem
The Blessing Nobody Borrows
It didn’t cost me a penny,
I possessed it when I was born,
One has to rely on it broadly,
For numerous, it becomes timeworn!
It should be alloted often,
It regularly gets better with practice,
With management it is certain,
It brings elation and becomes boundless!
It doesn’t cost a thing to share,
Everyone enjoys accepting one,
It ne’er gets broken or needs repair,
Quite ofttimes is an invountary action!
It is used to be gracious,
It is a declaration of friendliness,
It’s usage continues to be ageless,
When shared, it is ceaseless!
It asserts feelings tenderness,
It displays some speculation delight,
It is a contemplation of happiness,
When given it brings a flicker of sunlight!
It consistently delivers a gleam,
Never will it fail to radiate,
Constantly it will share a beam,
It’s stimilus will continually motivate!
Never confuse it with a chuckle or a giggle,
This everpresent attribute is worthwhile,
It was never meant to baffle,
It is just part of me, it’s my smile!!!

Marvin Lohmeyer Poem
In loving thee, thou knows I have sworn,
But thou art twice sworn, to me love's affection
In act thy bed affirmed failed, and new allegiance act,
In vowing new aversion after new adulation attitude:
But why of two oaths' cleft do I condemn you,
When I break many?
I am false beyond measure;
For all my affirmations are oaths but to misuse thee,
And all my honest assurance in thee is absent:
For I have avowed ample guarantees of thy deep beneficence,
Oaths of thy love, thy candor, thy aplomb;
And, to awaken thee, gave eyes to comprehension,
Or made them swear against the thing that they see;
For I have sworn thee fair, more dishonest conclusion,
To swear against the truth so atrocious a lie!
