A Glimpse Into a Girls Heart

if you took the time
to look into a girls heart
you'd find friends and family
nestled permanently in every corner
you'd find secrets and lies
locked in cages and hidden deep within
you'd drown in the love
and suffocate in the pain
you'd see the poor stitching
holding together the wounds
and watch the memorable moments
playing on repeat
you'd see all the tear stains
etched into its core
you'd witness everything she had to withstand
and how much strength it took to pull through
who was always there to lend a hand
or a shoulder
you'd realize what made her who she is
and what made her strong
especially when things went wrong

Re-Construction

I've been through so much destruction
perhaps all I need is some re-construction
a moment to think and re-build what had fallen apart
to slow down and take a much needed breather
for a moment I considered just leaving it all
broke and smashed
crushed upon the floor
but slowly I picked up the pieces
I don't really know why

Breathe

i listen to every piercing word
that explodes from your mouth

how can your lips form such hurt?
how can your heart be so black?
your eyes so blind?

i look straight ahead
taking in everything you say
everything you yell

i hold in my tears
pressure behind my eyes amount to so much pain
i hold back words
i hold in the truth
they would just go by misunderstood
or ignored
so i keep them to myself

i can barely breathe
but i try
i try to stay calm
i try not to crumble
you don't have that power

you leave
silence at last

one tear falls
i close my eyes
and breathe

I'm still here

Waiting In Line

Waiting in line
Everyone’s waiting in line
We are waiting to die
We don’t know the order
Or the speed
In which it proceeds
We don’t know when or how
Just that it will come
Some people live through life
Hoping death wont come
But knowing he wants everything done
Before it arrives
Some people wish it would come faster
Waiting each day in the line
Not caring what he leaves unfinished
Who he leaves behind
Some people just let it flow
Not looking toward the future
Just dealing with the present
Forgetting the past
The line moves on
Where do you stand?

Trying To Love Myself

I look in the mirror
and try
so hard to see something pretty
something attractive
someone worth looking at
someone worth loving
but all I see
are the tears I have cried
the promises I have broken
the dreams I have given up on
the suffering I endured
the screaming I have done
the hurt I caused
the past and what was
and what can never be
and what I wish was
and what I wish I was
but I'm not
and never will be
I'm just me
and I'm trying to love
all of which that encompasses

Boys

silly little things
odd, unreadable things
strange, twisted being
confusing, mind numbing
heart breaking
finger twisting
people

they have this unbelievably strong
ability to attract us
to appeal to everything we want
giving us hope for a bright
happy future

they say the right things
do the right things
they lure you out of your cage
your cave your fortress of safety
they make you let your guard down

just when you think you have found the one
when you think
you have discovered the reason
the one exception
the one person that means something
that shows you
they are not all the same

they betray you
hurt you
destroy you
it could be so easy for them
to let you go
cut the strings you held on too
with such force and passion
to kick you off that cliff he had lead you too
to leave you in the field of unknown obstacles and dangers
to take your heart
and never give it back
but what is so easy for them
leaves you,
leaves us with such a difficult task
of finding ourselves again
of getting over what we had lost

but where do we find that strength
that courage
that love
to get back and continue on the search
search of happiness
when you climb so high
and go so far to follow one thing.
when back at the beginning,
its hard to start over

why do they do what they do
and hurt us so much
i just want to know why

Hand In Hand

hold my hand
please grasp my hand
tightly in yours
we can walk hand and hand
in this world
of uncertainty and misfortune
on this land
of unstability and torture
learning lessons
of love and life
loss and pain
we can walk
hand in hand
side by side
we will conqour this world
we will conqour together
we will face our fears
leaning on eachother
while also standing strong
things happen
people change
and drift apart
but hold my hand
and we will get through this all
and arrive on the other side
still hand in hand
forever,
 you'll have mine to hold

Weak

Trapped in a dark place
Inside herself
Tormented by her failures
Destroyed by her mistakes
She bottles it up
Keeps it from the world
Compacts it and stores it in the smallest part of her heart
Until her heart becomes weak
From the blows it must take
And the baggage it must hold
When none of it is told
She cries at night
Tears stain her pillow
Her parents don’t understand
She feels lost and afraid
I try to help
But she drifts away

Music

the continuous constant beat
a fast smooth rhythm
a remedy for disaster
words weaving the story of my life
and my future
images created in my head
making tears rise in my eyes
staring at the wall
 i sit in bed
attempting to cure
disaster
with words

Challenged Desire

days pass
words are spoken
food eaten
tv watched
but nothing improves
nothing changes
i remain lost
and the same
wanting you
wanting so much
and not doing anything right
to get it
nothings being done
because im confused
i want but dont need
i need but dont want
what do i pursue?
what do i do?
untill i decide
i remain stuck inside
this cycle
this circle
moving around and not moving straight
moving back and not foward
constantly seeing the past
as the future runs away
i want so much
too much
they contradict
