Souls Travel

Souls travel, that’s the fact
You can’t deny or skip
It’s like unconscious act
But only way more deep
Some places of this planet
We never thought to check
Souls easily inhabit
And some cannot get back
We can be born in places
That weren’t meant for us
Life’s random in such cases
Another life we trust
I bet we’re living through
Another time and space
I sought my soul for you
To see it in your face
We cannot quite correct it
Just like the shoals of fish
Souls travel, when connected
Drawn by the shared wish.

An Unwanted Guest

This belle epoch awakes resemblance
With times of plague in dark-bound books
Allegedly, we’re on dependence
Of history, with all its hooks
I doubt this cliche, however
This comer is a bit too smart
And so it smells he’d stay forever
Being handcrafted from the start
He’s going to mature through the ages
He’d bring the depth in water run
He’ll pass all the required stages
He wouldn’t stop, till work is done
Then may he rest in rich man’s arbour
Where ivy hangs down to the floor
Last glimpse of lighthouse in the harbour
Eroded pier, and ships galore
A guest unwanted, he dissolves
In wee small hours, when the air
Is still at night, while breezing calls
For morning star - and it is there.

Open Letter

The promised rain ate itself in the clouds
Without spilling a drop down
Changing swings for the roundabouts
On the sunny street of uptown
I saw an open letter, a piece
Of white paper, spinning down from the sky
It was written there if you see this
Don’t tell, and don’t wonder why.

A True Story of Humpty Dumpty

I was sitting on the wall
And I suffered a great fall
Stupid horses came around
Couldn’t see me on the ground
Then of course, Kings men attend
None of them knew how to mend
They kicked off my pieces, scattered
Left me lying ruined, shattered
Then Mad Hatter picked my bits
Took me home in paper sheets
Glued me thoroughly, with care
And his company, March Hare
Treated me with jasmine tea
Which the Dormouse brewed for me
Sitting in a comfy bowl
I won’t try another fall
I’m recovered from that stroke
But those Kings men, what a joke
I was lucky to get Hatter
With the mind that’s over matter
Now I’m living like a king
Chapped, but still a precious thing.

A Man of Magnanimous Soul

A man of magnanimous soul
Wakes up in the early morning
Parts the curtains and picks up a call -
The third Macbeth witch is calling
She speaks like a favorite of King Lear
Offers enticing plans for the evening
But a man says to her “sorry dear
I really can’t take this deceiving
I’m not at all curious to know about
Anything secretive, well-hidden
While the sun shines, I’m going out
I don’t waste time on the fruits forbidden”
Then a man of magnanimous soul
Tries to disconnect, whispers “damn”
His wife appears, as he stops the call
“Who that was?” she asks, he says “spam”.

A Woman in a Pale Green Dress

A woman in a pale green dress
On a pier, with her handbag
Tide is going to progress
Waves roll faster, lowered flag
Slightly quivers on the wind
Someone orders the high tea
A lifeline wasn’t firmly pinned
Now it’s bobbling in the sea
Sunlight weakens, sky gets grayer
Waiters with their trays go by,
Serving reasons for a prayer
But one's memory won’t try
Then you bend, over the table,
Smiling, whispering in my ear
And a horn blows, I’m unable
Your sweet joking words to hear.

June

...Then it was a longest day
And thereafter, shortest night
Things were going usual way
Metaphorical insight
Didn’t happen, though it could
I was busy placing bets
Heard some angel spoke to me
If I have a cigarette
“I’m so sorry to quit smoking”
I replied, but she said “no
You were right, and I was joking
Just because you look so low
You got keys, but you’ve no clue
Where’s the door, or gate they fit
Where’s that room with precious view
With rose bushes at your feet
What you’re doing in this world?”
“I just live from day to day
Trying to be true to words
Which sometimes I have to say.”

Sunny Side and Shady Side

Sunny side and shady side
They don’t usually collide
Reconciling midday sun
Makes them equal, they are one
Matters least which side you go
Walking fast or walking slow
Same is true for rainy day
Street is wet, each side can say
Walk on here, passerby
Other side’s not worth to try
Its old pavement is uneven
It has nothing to believe in
Crooked houses, beaten slabs
Puddles, parking lot for cabs
Same can say the other side
But it’s pointless to decide
So whatever side you’re on
You are there, then you are gone

July

It is a privilege of the few
To see how different and same
The leaves look in the morning dew
I guess they play a special game
And in the wind they swing, as if
They’re saying, oh it’s you, hello
You’re very welcome, take a sniff
But who are you, we’d like to know
Tell us your name, before you leave
You must be busy finding out
Your place on earth, as we conceive
This restless moving all around..

Bridge of No Sighs

Coming down to this lost pier
Under the bridge of no sighs
The bollards not used, no boats moor here
Back and forth on the river they ply
Carrying tourists, and locals as well
To destinations unknown
I do not envy them, though cannot tell
Which place to I do belong
This spatial disorientation
Is such an exhausting disorder
Dislodged, I offer frustration
For the ticket to cross your border
I hear the trains clanking buffers
Over the bridge they rush through
You say there’s no reason to suffer
I would love to agree with you.
