A Light That Shines Through

As the rough waters settle and once again become calm and tranquil and the heavy winds
begin to lighten to a soft flowing gentle breeze, and the stormy grey clouds begin to part to
reveal a glistening blue sky with bright rays of light, everything comes into focus again.
You are again able to see where water runs into land and where the sky separates from the
ocean.
Everything becomes clear and familiar again with a hint of beauty from some mysterious
face present that is not alarming but refreshing and a moment of clarity places itself within
you. It falls into your grasp and sight gracefully as it awakens your ability to conceive the
realization that you've survived the storm. That everything is going to be alight, and an
overwhelming sense of relief and peacefulness is aroused in your heart.
And just like a ray of light that shines through, that is the feeling I got the moment I met you.

Alone

On a cold quiet night,I stand alone in the dark.
Not a single person in sight, not a single noise to be heard.
I look to the sky above and wonder if your out there somewhere, missing my love.
I stand alone in the cold wondering if I will ever find someone new, someone who will love me
as hard as I loved you.
The empty hollow feeling I now know, the hatred and heartache raging within has replaced
any true heartfelt loving emotion that ever existed.
With a sufficiency of bitterness only malevolence resides in my soul, with so much animosity
that it should remain untold.
With the deepest desire that raves in my tormented soul,I can only hope that your out there
somewhere just as cold and alone.

The Distance of Seasons Passed

The stars were shining brilliantly that summer evening, so radiant that any expressions
created as we spoke were clearly apparent leaving very little if no doubt exactly what one
another had felt.

As we stood on the veranda you and I, every time I caught your flashing eye or heard your
voice discourse of anything it seemed a star went burning down the sky.

I looked into your eyes that dying summer and found that your heart had grown wild. Where
upon you turned to me and smiled saying you were weary and afraid of being mute and
undefiled.

I spoke to you that last winter morning watching the wind blow creating a smokey fog that
danced across the icy frost. It spoke of how the beauty of your spirit, flesh, and smile had
made day break at night and spring burst beauty in the wasting winters place.

You did not answer when I spoke, but stood as if your sorrow were blown about in fitful
winds within. Where as you looked up at me and your eyes replied your heart had grown as
white and silent as the snow.

Desire's Memory

Though he has moved on and I must let go, I can't forget.
I've pushed his memory aside, so I thought .
Suddenly without warning the memory of him vehemently arises.
I try to disregard the moments shared and the thoughts of the feelings I have for him.
But the passion I cannot hide.
Deserted memories so I thought.
But the infatuation of the entanglement with this intriguing liaison.
This liaison I had shared an captivating affair with.
It has forcefully burst the memories back into my mind.
His charm irresistible.
The erotism and sensuality shared too pleasurable and intoxicating to forget.
The magnetism that draws me to him so powerful, leaving me no control.
So enraptured with everything about him I surrender submissively.
Now that he has moved on, I feel as if a fiend experiencing withdrawals.
The deprivation agonizing, the crave for a taste is toxic.
I can almost feel and taste his lips, the memory so vivid.
Knowing I can't have him brings me dismal.
I am somber and full of melancholy, and reminded of my solitary and that my desire
remains but a memory.

When You Have Fallen

Sorrow and torment is what being uncertain and unclear can bestow upon one's mind.
It has the tendency to test one's integrity and the ability to think rationally.
Yet fall to it we do each time for we are creatures that crave love and affection and desire
the attention from that special someone.
We become willing to let down our guards and carelessly fall to the unknown because we
choose to succumb to the irresistible warmth our hearts feel when that special person graces
us with their presence.
And all that they provoke and arouse within cause utter and complete fascination with an
overwhelming force of infatuation that stems from watching their every move, every word
spoken, the sound of their voice, and the smile on their face.
Where upon this becomes the moment that you realize that you have fallen.
