Halloween 2
Haunted houses knock if you dare
Apple bobbing drenched wet hair
Lanterns waken shadows hidden
Laughing, giggling, excited children
Orange pumpkins large and small
Witches wands a spell to call
Enchantment fills cold night air
Eerie footsteps creak upon a stair
Nights mystic moonlight glare

Emilia James Poem
A kiss to greet to say hello
A kiss goodbye before you go
A kiss written in a love letter
Though a few more would have been better.
A kiss that's soft and lingering slow
Body felt tingles from top to toe
A kiss to soothe a child's grazed knee
Who plays again or climbs a tree.
A kiss-me-quick novelty seaside hat
A slobbery kiss from neighbours dog Pat
Under the mistletoe christmas kiss
A new romance between Sue and Chris.
The kiss of life, the kiss of death
I know which one I'd like best
A kiss can mean so very much
A show of kindness, a soothing touch.
A smile on a face, those beating heart skips
Lets all pucker up and moisten those lips
God gifted us with lips to kiss
Signing off; kiss, kiss, kiss.

Emilia James Poem
Visitors I saw in my garden today were:
9 starlings noisily squabbling
1 duck casually waddling.
1 robin - a handsome little chap
1 bumble bee, that landed on my lap.
2 neighbouring cats, stalking the same prey
1 little mouse, who wears a coat of grey.
3 worms wiggle above the earth I dug
1 fat, juicy, giant, orange, slimy, greedy slug.
5 spiders spinning their intricate webs
1 fly cocooned, in delicate white threads.
3 frogs sitting by the garden pond
2 doves flirting, cooing as they bond.
8 skater bugs, danced the waters top
1 blue dragonfly, hovering near a flower pot.
2 brown butterflies resting on my fence
3 foaming snails, their second line defence.
1 pushy wasp, that wanted my half eaten bun
3 baby rabbits playing in the evening sun.
1 majestic blue peacock, from the neighbours farm
1 owl swooped in from the farmers barn.
2 swallows aerobatics, as they build their family nest
4 tiny bats skilled navigation, at it's very best.
Tomorrow will bring more visitors, some different and the same
The honour was all mine, for it was my garden to which they came.

Emilia James Poem
Night Out Pass Out
Shower
Half hour
Teeth clean
No green
Paint nails
Smudge fail
Broke nail
More fail
Cold air
Leg wear
Jeans tight
Won fight
Done in
Drink gin
Room spin
Less gin
Rave shout
Turn out
Dance moves
Bad grooves
Dance bump
With Trump
Not him
Was Jim
More drink
Cant think
I cry
Oh why?
Booze talk
Can't walk
Night gone
All worn
Go home
With gnome
Feel sick
Move quick
Pass out
Snore pout
Sleep tight
Night Night

Emilia James Poem
Drac's the new food taster at Halloween
He dare not admit, he wasn't too keen
For solid food is not his natural cuisine
But Satan chose him instead of Wolverine.
First to be tasted was the eyeball terrine;
A little bit jellified with some crunch in between
He quickly counted approximately thirteen
His face flushed a shade of Frankenstein green.
After eating the innards of Jack Ripper's spleen
He grabbed a bone toothpick to pick his teeth clean
He suddenly screamed, making a terrible scene
Someone laced his drink, with some garlic poteen.
Then came the dish of pig heart and sardine
Which apparently is full of fish scale protein
That tickled his tum as it slowly went in
Later gave him the shivers as it crawled out from his skin.
A head on a platter kept rotating full spin
Made him feel dizzy, like he'd been drinking blood gin
With every slow turn it gave Drac a sly grin
Then gave him a wink from an eye in its chin.
He spotted a sausage, its skin a blood vein
Filled with minced bat then sealed to contain
Drac nearly vomited, but managed to retain
As the food kept coming again and again.
Last on the list was a bowl of mashed brain
Sitting on top of a mini ghost train
Drac thought it tacky, tasteless and plain
Until he noticed the gravy blood stain.
The food went down well, no undead did complain
The ghosts even liked, the toad quiche Lorraine
The issue now is, who blocked the main drain?
Who's going to tell Lucifer and try to explain?.

Emilia James Poem
Groot Limericks
Groot is an alien tree being
So tall you just cannot miss him
He obsorbed a bomb blast
Protecting friends from fall fast
And regrown in a pot from one limb
Groot would only say one word
Racoon understood what he heard
Best friends they did stay
Kept baddies at bay
Together both stood undeterred
Groot the loveable tree cutie
Likes to dance in the movie
His moves are so smooth
A dance partner to choose
King of the space disco boogie

Emilia James Poem
(Sung To The Song "I Will Always Love You" By Whitney Houston...From the film..The Bodyguard)...(1992)
If you do stay
You'll be tempting me to your way
In the bin you now go
I can't risk having you here everyday
Coz I will want to eat you
I will want to taste you
You
My biscuit you
Mmmmmm
Loaded with calories
And the fat thighs given to me
So goodbye
I won't cry
Plus my weight plays havoc with my knees
Coz I will want to bite you
I will want to nibble you
You
You could stay if fat free
And I lost all the weight you gave to me
And hadn't given me chin number three
I favoured you, but now set myself free
And I will always love you
Your soft chocolate goo
Your brown crumbly crumb base
Your sweet biscuit round face
Your taste that I still crave
Each small crumb I would not waste
My
Biscuit, I miss you
I'll always
I'll always want you.

Emilia James Poem
Popcorn Silly
Popcorn salty, popcorn sweet
popcorn toffee, luxury treat
popcorn plain, popcorn simple
many sprouted me a pimple
Chew it slow, chew it safe
chew it fast, pull a face
make it last, make it linger
got one stuck on my finger
Hard kernels what I fear
bitten many, brought a tear
tum filled fillings - teeth now gone
popcorn has done me wrong
Popcorn never more I eat
upteen sits in dentist seat
new teeth, my gums await
soft foods always on my plate.

Emilia James Poem
My nutty week stays long in my memory
My brain didn't process like it would normally
But just to be sure I now lay of the pink gin
I will share you my tale and shall now begin.
Paracetamol had been placed inside the freezer
Then found in the bread bin, the daily newspaper
My mouthwash was used as a face cleanser
Then sprayed underarms with the air freshener.
When cooking dinner I put no water in pans
Smoke and burnt offerings, so opened a soup can
Two hours of slow sewing, repairing some things
Only to discover I'd missed both sides of the seams.
Made tea instead of coffee, an easy mistake
But my feather head told me it's chocolate milk shake
Lucky that time the tea had cooled down
But annoyed with myself and felt a right clown.
Was I losing my marbles? why all the muddles?
That week I seemed in a right fuddy duddle
But the last straw came when I went to bed
I had slept on the floor of the garden shed.
The second stanza is true, I have done all that
The rest is made up for bit of spoof slap
But wanted a poem for the nutty contest
This I made up from my nutty mind set.

Emilia James Poem
Jim starts the day with good intention
Jobs need doing that require his attention.
The garden needs a good sprucing up
His vegetation 'triffids' are running amok.
He mows the lawn, trims the hedges,
Creates those nice, neat lined edges.
Weeds the borders, deadheads the flowers,
Feeds the plants their nutritional powers.
The hard soil is dug, ready and prepped
To sow the seeds for home grown veg.
Must not forget to prune back the tree
A labour of love is what it can be.
Hours of work that seemed never ending
His body and limbs, stretching and bending.
Sun burnt skin, his head now aches
Back is killing him, so takes a break.
Joints and muscles moan and groan
Weeds now gone are finally dethroned.
Jim's bones applaud with clicks and cracks
His badge was the sting when a wasp attacked.
Admiring his garden that he has served
His body felt it carried every ache in the world.
The thing Jim will remember and quickly did learn
To wear factor fifty to avoid the sunburn.
