A house is not a home

When living all alone
A house is not a home
Just empty rooms where memories remain.
The one you love has gone
Still you soldiered on
Believing someday you'll meet again.

As time passes by
You look towards the sky
Searching for an answer to your prayer.
Praying the one you love
Is there with God above
Safely in his love and tender care.

Fly

I can imagine my late wife and soulmate Anne saying this.

I was sitting in heaven today
wondering what to do.
When a thought crossed my mind
maybe I could visit you.

So I asked God for permission
to visit a special place on earth.
I told God there was someone I love
who was alone and feeling hurt.

God asked me how I knew him
and he knows angels never lie.
I said it's someone who I love
but never got to say goodbye.

I can see he's lost his way
and looking sad and all alone.
So I'd like to pay a visit
to the place that was our home.

It will only take a moment
for I know I cannot stay.
But I'm sure he'll understand
knowing heaven called me away.

Then God just looked and smiled
then wiped a tear from my eye.
Saying my angel when you see his lonely
just spread your wings and fly.

Rainy days

I have no problem
having a little rain in my life
for it helps to wash away life's troubles.
So let it rain I'm Okay
just like a kid
I'll jump in the puddles.

Freedom

What good is freedom
without Our own time.
We're society's prisoners
but have committed no crime.

Life's like a journey
on a slow-moving train.
From station to station
nothing lost nothing gained.

From our very first breath
we're all caught in a web.
Hills become mountains
On our journey towards death.

We're all caught in a trap
until our lord pays a call.
Then we leave here with nothing
what's the point of it all?

War

Ever since the beginning of time
wars have plagued our land.
Gods creation abused and destroyed
by the evil deeds of man.

The weak and humble suffer
the innocent paying the cost.
They'll never be a winner
for wars are everyone's loss

When will all this madness end
will sanity ever prevail.
Will God decide enough is enough
and put an end to this evil trail.

Wizard of Oz

The scarecrows head is full of straw
So his thinking is really poor
With an empty head
He has to be led
Maybe a brain would even the score.

Now the Tin man was really smart
Even though he was falling apart
He was off to Oz
Just because
What he needed was a heart.

Then the Lion put on a great act
Jumping from a bush to attack
Pretending he was brave
But there was no way
For he was just a pussycat.

Now it was off to the land of Oz
Hoping to meet the wonderland boss
When asked where you going
They said without knowing
To see a wizard that never was.

So off down the yellow brick road
Happily skipping they would go
Having travelled so far
Wishing upon a star
Led by Dorothy and little Toto.

Even though their friendship had grown
Still dear Dorothy felt so alone
With a tear in her eye
She bid them goodbye
For there was no place like home.

But can't see through the Fog
They maybe confused
So ignore the abuse
Better still, tell them to Log off.

autumn

time for warmer clothes
for frost could pay a visit
autumn days are here

colder days approaching
trees slowly shedding their leaves
hibernating creatures

autumn's demise
welcomes winter's arrival
bids summer goodbye

My World

I like living in
my own little world
I'm happy there it's okay.
It's much more fun
than the real one
for everydays an holiday.

It's a world
without hate or sorrow
a world where everyone's free
a world of love and harmony
a world of peace and tranquillity.

I know my world's
not the real one
it's my world of make believe.
But it's the world I often visit
if only in my dreams.

The person I used to be

It no longer worries me
who i used to be, or want to be,
I'm content with who I've become.

Having made many mistakes
along the way,
I learned from each and every one.

I have no regrets
on things I couldn't control
for these things are of little concern.

The only things I'd change in my life,
were those bridges, I should have crossed,
but foolishly burned.
