Fly

I can imagine my late wife and soulmate Anne saying this.

I was sitting in heaven today
wondering what to do.
When a thought crossed my mind
maybe I could visit you.

So I asked God for permission
to visit a special place on earth.
I told God there was someone I love
who was alone and feeling hurt.

God asked me how I knew him
and he knows angels never lie.
I said it's someone who I love
but never got to say goodbye.

I can see he's lost his way
and looking sad and all alone.
So I'd like to pay a visit
to the place that was our home.

It will only take a moment
for I know I cannot stay.
But I'm sure he'll understand
knowing heaven called me away.

Then God just looked and smiled
then wiped a tear from my eye.
Saying my angel when you see his lonely
just spread your wings and fly.

I'd rather be your happy ever after, rather than your once upon a time.

Congratulatuins Johm, sorry, I am late in my good wishes. One of the things I like about your mouth is that you’re not self promoting and you are not arrogant. There are many like you here and then… There are the others, Pangie xx

This time of year, when families are gathered together, thoughts of lost loved ones seem to linger. It can be difficult for many. This is both tender and emotional, my dear friend. I hope beautiful memories have curled around your heart. Congratulations on Poem of the Day. My best to you. Hugs, Brandy

John this is so touching my friend. Such a heartfelt piece you wrote for Christmas and your beloved wife took part in it. I love your theme and the heartfelt words you use to give us this gift for Christmas. When all the Accolades have been given and the still of the night approaches look to the evening sky and feel her love shining in the heavens making their way to your heart. Congratulations my friend if this is not a sign from God receiving POTD I don't know what is. Congratulations...
