Pain

I found out today I hurt her,
With the words I chose to say.
Yet what bothers me the most,
Is it’s me that has to pay.
It seems funny when I say it,
But then I see her frown.
And then for reasons unknown to me,
My world turns upside down.
I try to just ignore it,
Just let the day go on.
But I still have her on my mind,
Once the day is gone.

Meaning of a Rose

A rose is given by a person,
Who knows they’re in the wrong.
A rose is given by a man,
To further things along.
It seems the true meaning of it’s purpose,
Has faded over time.
And I am here to tell you,
That’s why I pen this rhyme.
The Rose is a symbol of true love,
A simple, unspoken bond.
Yet many of us tend to see,
A relationship magic wand.
So if you’ve read this once or twice,
And still can’t understand.
You must have never had your heart,
In the palm of someone’s hand.
But do not fret, all is not lost.
Because you will someday meet,
The only person that you feel,
Could make your life complete.
And when you wish to be near them,
In every waking hour.
You will finally comprehend,
The true meaning of this flower.

Love

Love is like a flower,
that blossoms in the spring.
Love is like your favorite song,
that makes you want too sing.
That feeling in your heart,
that makes you want to fly.
Can transform into pain,
that makes you want to cry.
But if you can withstand the pain,
and find the sun in a pouring rain.
Then sit back and give love room.
And like the flower, just let it bloom.

Homeless Man

You see the man in tattered rags,
He asks for some spare cash.
You look at him in pure disgust,
As if you “know” he’s trash.
Have you ever thought to wonder,
Why he’s standing there?
Or would you rather stop and laugh,
Because you don’t really care.
What if this man went to war,
To fight for all your rights.
And had to watch fellow soldiers fall,
On those dark and brutal nights.
Or perhaps he has a child,
Trying to leer off Death.
Wouldn’t you give up everything?
Including your own breath.
So, go ahead and pass him by,
As if you didn’t see.
But in the end, he’ll be in Heaven.
Is that where you will be?

Hate

The hate in my heart is all I can feel.
Deep down in the bottom of my soul, killing me.
I can't run, can't hide,
Can't stop the pain, it won't subside.
So I sit with the hate that has taken me.
Wondering why He has forsaken me.

Insanity

Falling from reality,
Starting to lose my grip.
Trying to pull myself back up,
As I begin to slip.
Thinking now of the moment,
That drove me too this place.
The only thing I clearly see,
Is that expression on her face.
All that fear mixed with pain,
As she reached out for the gun.
I never tried to stop her,
Like I known I should have done.
Now, look at me,
Slipping off the edge.
Falling from humanity.
What will become of me?
Lost, alone in my insanity…

Darkness

Deep within' every soul
Lies something down inside.
It makes you hate, it makes you cold.
And you need a reason why.
This is the darkness you keep hidden,
Beneath the love that shows.
Always trying to get out,
This door will never close.
Just try your best, to keep it buried.
And never let it up,
Because in the end it will devour,
You and all you trust.

Without You

I was sitting there, thinking of you.
Just the same as I always do.
The days pass by, minute by minute.
But my life is a wreck, without you in it.
Something inside tells me I can't survive.
Yet, somehow, I am still alive.

The Girl

When she's in my presence,
I feel so weak inside.
I long so much to tell her,
but it's a fact I have to hide.
Would do anything to please her,
but this she cannot know.
For her love belongs to another,
and my feelings must not show.
When I sleep, she's in my dreams.
And I finally know why,
My heart tells me I want her,
but my brain says not to try.
So I sit here always wondering,
with her image in my mind.
How can I just let her go,
A girl like that is hard to find.

Trapped

I am trapped inside my mind.
Always lonely, all the time.
I am trapped inside my mind.
The right path out I cannot find.
Held in this place, I grow so old.
Locked in this prison, so dark, so cold.
Spiraling down, down in a bind.
Spiraling out, out of my mind.
