Twisted Heart

Twisted Heart

Bruised and throbbing. A twisted heart.
No going back, the point of no return.
You spit your “empty” words at me,
Though your words are far from hollow.
Words are daggers,
Thrown at your heart.
Meant to tear you down to your very soul,
A heart can only take so much.

Quivering. Callused. A twisted heart.
You thought it was stronger than before,
But they find new ways to tear you down.
They say actions speak louder than words,
But I believe they are equal.
In the eyes of the heart,
Even a look can break you.

Spiteful. Hostile. A twisted heart.
They made you what you are,
No matter what they say.
You act strong,
And try to keep them distant.
Treat them how they treated you,
But that would create a perpetual cycle.
They ask you what’s wrong,
But all you say is just a dull ache.

The word I chose was aching

Magnus Moore

Magnus Moore

My name is Magnus Moore, and I am far from pure.
See I can never die, I thought you might ask why.
No one is quite sure, for everyone forgets who I was, they are unsure.
I am reincarnated and reborn, and no one mourns.
I’m a shadow, a shell, hollow.
I hate mankind, they are blind.
They choose what they see, but I can foresee.
They’ll repeat history, to them it’s a mystery.
They’ll destroy each other, one bomb after another.
They can’t help it, they’re all dimwits.
I’ll still be here, I cannot disappear.
I could be a weapon, but I refuse to step-in.
If I die, no one will cry.
I’ll return, and the people will learn.
At least I hope, though I wonder about their rope.
The one they draw around their neck, they will surely make a wreck.
I truly wonder if anyone cares, of my immortal affairs.
Though all I am is another new face, whose never even left a trace.
Humans forget, everyone I’ve met.
Do they have a brain, gah they are my bane.
I try to tell them of the past, yet they set nukes a blast.
Maybe if I don’t intervene, no, that would be mean.
No matter what I say, they send me away.

Earth is very lonely, for I am the only.
Humans have become extinct, and I’ve begun to think.
That maybe they weren’t so bad, Now I am really quite sad.
I still am unable to die, my mind has gone awry.
Maybe they weren’t my bane, or maybe I’ve gone insane?

Pandora's Box

Pandora’s Box

Prometheus was condemned to a fate,
With his liver used as bait.
He stole the fire from Zeus,
Feeling sorry for mans abuse.
He was caught,
And his binding ropes were taut.

Hephaistos was instructed to make Pandora,
Who radiated a beautiful aura.
She was given a box,
And told not to tamper with the lock.
Curiosity a constant itch,
A small peak would be rich.

Pandora couldn’t help it,
Curiosity is an endless pit.
So she opened her box,
And out flew the horrible pox.
Electronic devices,
For very high prices.

Cell phones, computers, and electricity,
All with their own toxicity.
They can’t survive without their mate,
Sealing mankind's fate.
Electronics will seal our fate,
Thanks to Pandora’s internal debate.

Our World

Our World

"Once upon a time,
I was falling in love.
But now I’m only falling apart,
Nothing I can do.
A total eclipse of the heart."

Foolish sayings,
That’s what we follow.
Believe our zodiac horoscopes,
Follow them blindly.
Entranced by pretty words,
All of which are lies.
Lies we tell ourselves so many times,
We trick ourselves into believing.

Politics are just as foolish,
Conservative or Liberal?
Pick one,
You’re wrong.
Pick the other,
Still wrong.
There is no right,
Just lies and fights.
Presidential candidates left and right,
But who is sane?
Am I…?
Are you…?

The real question is,
Is anyone sane?
Well we sure don’t act like it.
The real problems we don’t pay attention to,
The small things we explode.
The liberal influence is strong,
Can you escape the madness?
Our world crumbles,
Slowly at first.
But trust me ,
It will speed up.
Perhaps Stephen King’s ‘ The Dark Tower’,
Will become our reality.
Our very own technology,
Will be our ultimate demise.

Sickly bogs… wastelands.
Will we create robots?
Will they take over first?
Or something else…
Our very own technology,
Will be our ultimate demise.

The Twelfth of Never

The Twelfth of Never

On the twelfth of never,
When I saw the light.
Perhaps I was clever,
Perhaps I could fight.
My life force a lever,
Out of my sight.

On the twelfth of never,
The tunnel was White.
I walk forever,
In fault of my spite.
A heroic endeavor,
Extinguished my light.

On the twelfth of never,
I begin my flight.
It lasts forever,
A monumental height.
My body and soul shall sever,
To correct wrong from right.

On the twelfth of never,
I lost my sight.
Time became a sense of forever,
Eternal night.
The flip of a lever,
Will begin the White.

Cupid's Arrow

Cupid’s Arrow

Cupid’s arrow has a flaw,
It always seems to fall short.
Love has teeth and claws,
And it isn’t a mere sport.

Cupid’s arrow has a flaw,
And it doesn’t cause love.
It seems to cause strife and makes us bawl,
It is most definitely not like a dove.

Cupid’s arrow has a flaw,
It seems to freeze a heart.
Perhaps not all,
But it tears mine apart.

Cupid’s arrow has a flaw,
I watch it gently nudge others into love.
For me it's like a saw,
Not a gentle shove.

Cupid’s arrow has a flaw,
Maybe one day he’ll set it right.
But for now I’ll avoid love’s jaw,
May the future be bright.
