Favour Chimery Etumudo Poem
spirit adventurous
beauty in a conventional world
The jailer dangle the key of isolation
as her maverick desires
is tagged essentric.
bared, stripped off curiosity
she is a phantom
caught in scarlet embrace
a heart once clear as crystal
dims in the dawn of prejudice.
spineless soul
delicate innocence inure by cruelity
divergent, seeking to belong
lost in the maze of vitriol.
decorated by scars
of piercing harsh words
blooming a handicap mind
locked up, surrendering
that she's not good enough
retreating into submission's shell.

Favour Chimery Etumudo Poem
Who could truly understand
That dreadful lonesome feeling
Only I can really comprehend
This forlorn emotion coursing through me
Help! for the voice of vitriol is sinking me in despair
What will be of me, when the hour hand struck five?
Tumbling so fast, on rocky ground I land
Allies and rivals onlookers of derision laugh as I try rising and keep keeling
Their words like sharp darts, pierce my heart and I wish it to end
suffering in deafening silence, even my sidekicks choose to flee
alone and lonely for everyone has a problem and no one seems to care
Away from me! this voice which says "you are not worth it,you don't deserve to thrive"
walking by the preachers house, I hear him say "you are worth more than many sparrows" and because HE cares you can withstand
Although their jab hurts I will stop squealing
This is me, unusually peculiar I don't need to pretend
Never will I allow my woes diminish life's glee
I am significant, though broken and in need of repair
I do deserve a chance in life
Self love hurt not and in it I find the strength to take a stand
Although I have been burnt, like a Phoenix I will rise and be willing
To let myself heal, oh yes! Let bygones be
My soul of pain I shall purge to relish the cleansing morning air
The hour hand struck five, I made it to dawn alive

Favour Chimery Etumudo Poem
Sparing none,
It spread far and wide,
Embracing its victims with a death's grip
An ominous cloud traveling worldwide
Gathering force for it was not yet done
Finding no cure,
Black pools of infection drown cells,
No immune system could wage it's contagion
Dark days to seek a God wherever He dwells
For its past an epidemic threshold no one can endure
Agonizing uncertainty,
Suspicious thought of who is next,
We mourn as our comrades succumb to the scourge
Echo of anguish as we are sucked into the vortex
Waiting in terror grasping to a life without guarantee
It ravages on,
A pandemic pandemonium,
A plague rivaling the black death
Moribund,we implore love to remedy this bacterium
As cancerous hate threatens to efface the light of dawn

Favour Chimery Etumudo Poem
I am leaving
I am leaving it all behind
so many regrets,my injured heart heaving
decades wasted, the hand of time I can't unwind
My bags are packed
My bags and shattered soul flee from reality
courage to face my fears,I lacked
cowardly running away,striped off all
dignity
I am picking up pace
I am picking up pace and distance from the past
Harsh reprimanding wind flog my face
In the real world how long will I last?
I am finding a new beginning
I and finding a new beginning and making root
Am going home, the highway my awakening
nowhere to hide from bad decision, face it and be resolute.

Favour Chimery Etumudo Poem
Though out of breath,
she ran through the crowd
Muscles contorting,
showing her determination and strength
"I can't wait to show him off" she thought out a loud
The sisters would be green with envy
I will show them
yes! Gato can get to the acme
The sister's watch her run into their gathering
The setting glow of the sun, radiating on her skin
Her natural hair,
thick and full like a lions mane
Hmm no wonder she is as proud as a peacock
So fortunate,
the Gods could be quite unfair
"I am getting married,
a prince from faraway land
with a castle so large and splendor so vast ,it could rival kingSolomon's
I shall be his queen,
I shall have servants to tend to my needs
butlers to pour my wine
and a fountain to quench my thirst"
Gato it would be wise to wait for the scouts to return
With proof that your prince is true
why should I ?
Is it not a known fact that my beauty is the bane of your existence?
I care not for soon I shall be clothed in pearly apparels
when my prince come to take me home.
It's been a fortnight, yet no one has heard from her prince.
Frazzled she stared at the stranger, walking towards her
I am your princes royal chief guard
I shall escort you to meet him in your new home.
With pride and joy,she prepared her self
The sisters were sceptical,
but who would say a thing and risk
her fiery tongue lash
Farewell,farewell they wished her
She beamed excited of the luxurious life awaiting her
I shall go no farther
she murmured
A bath, I haven't had for days
and my clothes wreak of sweat
she groaned
My back aches and my bones are tired she moaned
Only a mile ahead and our journey ends.
He urged
The people cheered her on
The rumours are true ,they say
She is as glorious as the moon
she looked on in wonder, at the grandeur
Indeed the brilliance is as promised,
Her crown were made of pearls. she wore it and twirled
Where is my prince?
Why do he wait so long to see me?
Why do people shake their heads and sigh when I walk by?
Why do you all hear me but noone speaks?
I shall go for a walk to clear my head
When I return I demand answers
The aroma of freshly blooming flowers engulfs her,
I shall ask the servants, to bring them in at dinner
Ahead of her lies a grave with newly made stone head
and on it, was written in gold
Here lies, the remains of the prince of faraway land
Her scream seared the wind as she beat her chest in anguish
Here lies the price for her pride
Her knees gave way,as she falls to the ground
and by his grave she shed her pearly tears

Favour Chimery Etumudo Poem
A plate of hunger unsavoury to taste
My belly groans, worms meander in haste
once upon a dream packed with love and care a meal I wish
Unfair a reality of a belly inflated not with a dish
Too much of too little have I had, malnourishment have become my niche
Posterity they call me yet I'm ailed with deficiency
How do I lead a future plagued with insufficiency?
Basic necessities I lack
Bones so weak to play, shacking like I carry a hump on my back
Grateful for the next scrap, absurd is the word "snack"
Secure me a future as you build me a present deliciously prepared like a good meal
Nurture my soul, nourish my brain, protect my innocence I appeal
An epicure I'm not simply school me in the six food classes
Austerity I will bear just never let me miss my classes
Yearning for a world of abundance, good food and fruits are my caprices.

Favour Chimery Etumudo Poem
The face of grace looked upon the world.
twas not perfect till he made a replica of his being.
and called him man.
came then an offender who caused his creation to sin.
His deceit and true intent unbeknown to the woman.
A heart Laden with sorrow, that great being.
Contemplated vengeance.
Then came the one from the beginning who was one with him in accordance.
"send me!" said he I will go.
to thee shall I return thy beloved, remember thy mercy and
to me thy power bestow.
Accursed and lowly came he a baby.
His father a carpenter bethroded to the blessed virgin
called Mary.
Unto us a child is born, the prince of peace, messiah and anchor.
Prophesied erstwhile as wonderful, counselor, saviour.
Yet never was he haughty.
humbly born in a manger,he will conquer the adversary.
Hallelujah! The angels sing, a great turn around for mankind.
let every knee bow and constricted chains unbind.
Hosanna! for the saviour is born.
Be ye of good cheers and to his feet the tribute of praise
adorn.
He is Immanuel,Jesus Christ the king above all kings
Who unto us,grace and evalasting life brings.

Favour Chimery Etumudo Poem
Once upon a time undefined by algorithm
In your arms you had me
As we slow dance to mild blues
Our hand and legs in a lover's tango
Like a puppet, you spun me to the rhythm
The walls echo my laughter and glee
So carefree, a heart that never felt a bruise
Once upon a memory forgotten long ago
Your tight grasp slipped away
It hurts to remember
The tempo increasing
How you caught on but I was stuck
know your place! you said, make it work! they said but u were faraway
I helplessly watched our fire burn out to a dull ember
Your whispered promises of a life of love unceasing
Were forgotten or did I run out of luck?
Once upon a time I blamed me
It was a race and I couldn't keep up
Sunbeam cast it's glow of a new beginning
I was more than enough, too much for a coward
If two do not work together, how do they agree?
I rock to the morning beat with a sherry in my cup
I am lucky, I am free, I am winning
One step at a time, never again will I look backward.

Favour Chimery Etumudo Poem
A fountain where devious thought flow
A spring where goodness grow
Right or wrong it doesn't choose
whatever conceived it will use
In it esteem is lost
Within it ego is just
The I am not good enough and unwanted
I can do better,am worth it are chanted
Inside the Mind is a hidden Cave of rapid
Where even the soul of the intrepid
In adversity creeps in to stay
Retreating deep within and carried away
The gallant may have fought fear, failed and fallen
The mind cares not how brave, bold and brazen
Rock bottom,struggling on the ground
Head reeling,bottom aground
Why wait for a helping hand
A good-for-naught you will be brand
The mind knows no kind word
It tramples,it snares as a mighty Lord
Self-pity an enemy to the downtrodden
Believe me hope lightens the burden
Let not the Mind win
Pull yourself together and again,begin.

Favour Chimery Etumudo Poem
Truly let thy light shine, thy glittering smile colour thy soul
Gaily arise charging forth in life, daring and in control
Happily sing a song, dance and Twirl
Merrily let thy laughter resonate as a little girl's
For that which makes thee cry makes another rejoice
That which thee call pain, another enjoys
Why shall thou trudge through life listlessly?
Why shall thou hold on to grudge endlessly?
Is it not the gold brandished in furnace that shines brighter?
Are not the enduring pottery fired in a kiln pacified with a glaze to Glitter?
Rather in Goodness be chastised,
Than in wickedness be enticed
In thyself delight and to others never equate
A word for the wise, thee will acquiesce is adequate.
