Yearning For Abundance

A plate of hunger unsavoury to taste My belly groans, worms meander in haste once upon a dream packed with love and care a meal I wish Unfair a reality of a belly inflated not with a dish Too much of too little have I had, malnourishment have become my niche Posterity they call me yet I'm ailed with deficiency How do I lead a future plagued with insufficiency? Basic necessities I lack Bones so weak to play, shacking like I carry a hump on my back Grateful for the next scrap, absurd is the word "snack" Secure me a future as you build me a present deliciously prepared like a good meal Nurture my soul, nourish my brain, protect my innocence I appeal An epicure I'm not simply school me in the six food classes Austerity I will bear just never let me miss my classes Yearning for a world of abundance, good food and fruits are my caprices.

I like your openness and your appreciation of food for the soul. I have gone for many years with little food. Most folks always have plenty. Not me. I always survived on little knowing God was there for me, I have had good times and bad times. But kept moving forward. Making this a Fave I hunger for honesty not pretty words in poetry, Panagiota xx

There are so many organizations here in the USA feeding children and committed to ending world hunger. You do what you can and so do I. Sometimes in the states, I have seen parents on drugs or booze who deprive children of food. That enrages me. The parents high on drugs are out marching. But won't work. Money goes for booze And the parents blame the rich. I am sorry about the children in Africa. I give money to end that and want you to know that we in America do love and care for you. Sadly, the media paints us as monsters. A LIE!

Thank you Panagiota. I like that you can relate, am happy things got better for you.Over here in Africa hunger is a plague. Some persons have more than enough others have little or non. Most children hawk to help their homes when others are in school. It's heart wrenching when little ones beg to eat. I hope the world gets better one day.
