If Only You Would Vote For Me

IF ONLY YOU WOULD VOTE FOR ME

When election time comes round, On my door they will pound.
Telling what you are going to do for me.
Lend me your ear,my vision is clear
If only you would vote for me

              The traffic will move
               Your life will improve.
If only you would vote for me

               And when elected
I would have bridges erected to accelerate our economy.
If only you would vote for me.

I would stand up to oil.
Relentless I'd toil in the war on poverty.
If only you would vote for me.

I would send kids to college
and enrich them with knowledge to complement our society.
If only you would vote for me.

                Believe if you dare.
We'll all have health care, We can do it all for free.
If only you would vote for me.

                I would engage meat axes
And eliminate taxes and cease this tyranny.
If only you would vote for me

                 Our world is in turmoil
                 I will insure tranquility
If only you would vote for me.

                I would rail against racism
                Celebrate diversity
If only you would vote for me

P.S. I would like to hear your thoughts.

That Could Be Me On the Street

What ever happened to our hometown street.
When life was more simple, gentle and sweet.
Our sidewalks intended for more prosperous ways.
Are now employed as homeless displays.

When I was young, I was taught to work hard.
Save your pennies, purchase a yard.
Gather some love and other fine things.
Feast on the fruit your labor brings.

They gifted us pizza … as we swallowed their lunch.
They loudly proclaimed “How proud and what a great bunch.”
Smiled then waved and bid us a cheer.
“I must leave now; my tee time is near”.

There are those of us that are past their prime.
Whose life is now isolated and sublime.
We woke up and worked and labored away.
 and never received respectable pay.

I've neglected to mention.
They've purloined your pension.
They stashed it away-.
 for their sunny day.

Where are our slaves! why did they flee?
We’re willing to work, but not for free.
We are tired of staring at with people with garbage to eat.
Silently thinking that could be me on the street.

The Perfect Host

I was thinking the other day.
What if the President came to stay.

As I set and fiddle my finger.
These questions began to linger.

I would welcome him with open arms.
Impress him with my humble charms.

Should I serve him a simple meal?
Or maybe prepare him a feast of veal?

Through I like him quite a lot.
Do I make him sleep on a cot?

If I let him sleep in my room.
Must I make it smell like French perfume.

Remind him it's not his bed to hog.
He will be rooming with my dog.

Can I put him out of doors?
Make him do my garden chores.

After he is done with that.
He could clean the box of my cat.

He'll split wood for the fire.
Help the wife change my pickup tire.

Sweep mud off the old front stoop.
Then shovel out my chicken coop.

Perhaps we could find the time to talk.
After he takes the dog to walk.

I could have him wash my car.
Maybe.... It's just a bit too far.

Should he find the need to shower.
Pray he does not take an hour.

When he visits, It will be mine to boast.
I will be the perfect host.

Trump

TRUMP

The Constitution a swear to protect and defend.
Those sacred words I yearn to suspend.

I'll be your King, Your Sovereign for life.
The world will be utopia, Free from all strife.

 I'm Donald Trump, I'll lye, I'll scheme.
I'll do anything to protect my corrupt regime.

His actions are abhorrent, His words are filled with despicable hate.
The following breath he attempts to convince us he's making America great.

We're battling a plague, We're all in this fight.
He's not immune in the house painted white.

The country deserves a leader that works unite us.
Not who's actions and words only further divide us.

Regarding Humor

Regarding Humor!

I savor a hardy laugh. a Guffaw or a Gaff
It truly doesn't matter to me.

I shan't deliberate on it, but I surely cherish a sharp wit.
                         One that leaves me amused.

An elementary pratfall, it doesn't matter at all.
                        It's forever hilarious to me.

                        Maybe a limerick or Pun.
                        It's all fabulous fun, agreed

But I'm rapidly subdued when humor turns crude.
I never comprehend what society classify s as humor

                        Don't put your guard down.
You'll never know where humor is found.

But it's at your own behalf
You will enshrine your most precious laughs.

Sometimes my poems are funny
Sometimes my poems make you think
Sometimes my poems leave you puzzled
And sometimes my poems… well they just stink

Autumn, a Fine Time of Year

Autumn

                 A fine time of year
Its not the same as the other seasons, remember
Autumn has an exceptional allure and aroma
Autumn is the time when the elements are askew
Neither friend or foe, neither beast or beauty

Winter It's not the season I savor
                The unwelcomed anguish
The atrocious winds and the inhumane iciness
and a yearning for daffodils to revel themselves

Springtime when nature will absolve itself of winter.
                 Arriving with a placid assuage.
                 Rapidly maturing into summer

The abundant days of summer, with its unkind heat
                 Days once ardent
                 Will soon quench us again.
                 Returning to autumn
                 A fine time of year.

Campfire O' Campfire

CAMPFIRE O' CAMPFIRE! Come warm by our fire. Tell us your woes. Your deepest desire.
CAMPFIRE O' CAMPFIRE! We love how you feel . The joy and the comfort. The taste of our meal.
CAMPFIRE O' CAMPFIRE! Where tall tales are found. Where monsters, legends
and fables abound.
CAMPFIRE O' CAMPFIRE! Embrace us completely. Put smoke in our eyes. Make us smell sweetly.
CAMPFIRE O' CAMPFIRE! Your flames have now past but sweet memory's linger forever to last.

Biscuits and Gravy

I am on a mission,
I am on a quest
To discover who’s Biscuits and Gravy
Taste the very best

I’ve dined on them in fine restaurants
Ate em sitt’n round a fire
OH! To taste the very best
Is my prime desire!

I’ve traveled to the east
Journeyed o’er the west
I have yet to discover who’s Biscuits and Gravy
Taste the very best

On a humble mission
A mission I carry with zest
But I must conclude my poem
And continue on my quest
