Ranting From a Chair

I am but a slave among lives hidden features
Who cares what I crave midst these two-legged creatures
I crave superb polish and fine furniture wax
Extremely strong wood glue and upholstery tacks
To be moved more toward the shade and less in the sun
To have a tung oil bath, ah, now that would be fun
I crave to be gently rocked and read to again
Like when grandpa was alive and Jimmy was ten
But most of all to stay in my room at the keep
And be warmed by the fire until I fall asleep

Devine Direction

Whereas I walk, other men run.
Whereas I fall, other men stand.
Whereas I fail, other men succeed.
Whereas I dream, other men, live.

As I crumble to the ground, I cry out to God
and a revelation takes over me
and now I see the true direction.

Whereas other men run,
I walk, but to enjoy the beauty around me.
Whereas other men stand,
I fall, but to learn supreme balance.
Whereas other men succeed,
I fail, but to build inner strength.
Whereas other men live,
I dream, but to have eternal life.

The Battle Has Yet To Be Waged

Rather it be sharpness of sword, quickness of wit,
Or by conviction itself
I shall drive you back from whence you came.
For I am true
And I am just.
You will not take that which is not yours.
Nor shall I surrender that which came from the breath of God

So come, death come.
I eagerly await the battle.
Perhaps I will drag you kicking and screaming into life
And bind you down
And keep you there
Where you do not wish to be.

I advise it not
For you should stay upon yours
And I shall remain upon mine
And remain here I shall
Until God himself comes and reclaims what is rightfully his.

Cries From Beyond

Please, someone, cry out my name
So I will not forget who I am
I’ve been forgotten
Yet still, remain
I still yearn
And yet, the yearnings are not the same
I do not know where I am
Or how to return from whence I came
Is this the beginning or the end
Or somewhere, in between
Am I awake or am I dead
Or is this just a dream
Is this forever where I must dwell
I know it is not heaven, but is it hell
Have I died or just gone insane
I have not a body, but still, feel pain
I can see though my eyes cannot
Am I or am I not
What is to become of me

The Final Battle

My return to the earth
Once slow, now quickened
And what have I accomplished
For I have wasted my existence
Thinking that I had an eternity
And for this now I am sickened
All the battles have been fought, save one
And for this, I have no weapons
And yet if I am to count for naught
And have no sword to carry into the darkness
I can take with me one last thought
The battle scars will hurt no more

Remorse of a Ruler

I have walked through the world with kings
Thinking my wealth and power could justify the end
I have ignored the cries of the many
And fed the selfishness of the few
There will be none crying for my soul
For I leave behind no legacy of honor
And now upon my dying breath
I have failed to justify who I have become
There is no coin to balance the tray
So I cannot deal or barter for my soul
I now know I will be laid to rest in a place for the forgotten
And forced to dwell upon the misery I created in life
