Hope On a Rope

The feeling of disappointment turns to depression
Which this feeling does not subside, it takes hold of your life.
Seeing the bottom of bottles helps to bring hope,
That can all be summed up in a folded note.

A note of memories and laughter,
Yet the anxiety is coming faster.
Reading along with the pastor
He realizes his actions were disastrous.

“Help me fill this void in my life”, he says
“Help me get my life back on track”
The sound of metal crashes as he speaks
He will be locked in a cell for eternity.

Waiting to stand face to face and meet his fate,
His dreams of Lucifer have done nothing but keep him awake.
Words from the note come to life,
And he can only kneel by the bed and pray, thinking of taking his own life.

The power one holds within his own hands
Only comes when there is a demand.
As he lay to sleep that night cold and hungry
He starts to mumble in his sleep.

The lights are flashing all around
Screams are now drowning, there is no sound.
Blood is all around, and fresh air can not be found.
Smoke fills the lungs and burning flesh ignites the senses.

No, he cries in his sleep.
Let me hold you one last time.
Let me be that husband you never had,
Let me be the father you once knew.

Awake in a cold sweat, he tries to recollect.
Where he is and why he is there,
He remembers the hand he dealt.
One of sorrow and confusion he only sees an illusion.

Writing notes to no one but himself
It helps him deal with the pain that he felt.
The pain never subsides
It only helps him to hold onto his old life.

I Hate You, I Hate You

The title that you spoke,
Were supposedly the words that I provoked.
Animosity ignited the flames,
Because I was always to blame.

Without a finger to point to your own fears,
It was your tears that fell from closed eyes.
The ones you never seemed to open,
To see the words that were really spoken.

My thoughts seemed to be overshadowed
By your existence or maybe your persistence
For this to be perfect
But in the end it just wasn’t worth it.

As you stand alone nearby
I stood reflecting upon pictures that told stories about you and I.
Now that flame burns bright with our pictures inside
And with no tears to extinguish this fire there is no longer a place to hide.

So open your eyes to the reality of this fire
The one that consumes your life,
Because I want you to realize that the end is here
And I have a finger for you and your fears.

Look of Your Demise

As I look to the sky, I see a plane fly by,
To stop and reminisce about you and I.
Remembering the times that were far and few between,
The life we lived just wasn’t meant to be.

When I looked into your eyes, I could see my own demise.
Profanity poured from my mouth,
And the arrow falls out.
The one that protruded from my heart now falls apart,
Only to disappear in the blood that you now crucify me with.

With arms spread wide
I see my life flash before my eyes.
To see our arguments and fights unfold,
I see the stories you never told.

The stories I exposed were those
You never claimed to know.
How foolish could I be,
To believe in your own serenity.

But I would like you to know that my sorrow,
Now falls upon the one that looks into your eyes
Because it is a given,
He will see his quest for a dark death.

I can see the surprise in your eyes,
But yes, I am still alive!
Alive, without the fear of my own demise,
That used to be your eyes.

Great Day For Murder

You should look a little closer
I am right here by your side
I always have been
                     (always have been)

Time might appear to be moving slower
But you have used me this one last time
Somehow these thoughts keep reoccurring inside my mind
~And over and over I scream
    Just let me be
      (Just set me free)
    Just let me see
      (Just set me free)
Forgetting times in D.C. when you were apart of me
Love lost in traveling miles
Just to see the city
Being one mile closer
Helped to ease that pain only to see you no longer wanted to be apart of me.

You were once so shy
                    (Once so shy)
I can see that times have changed
But it never eases the pain
~So I scream over and over
   Just let me be
      (Just set me free)
   Just let me see
      (Just set me free)

Want you come back to me?
Because if you looked a little closer
I am still right here by your side
 And I always will be
         (Always will be)
  I always will be
         (Always will be)
  By your side.

Repentance

Saying sorry is a hard thing to do
But actually being sorry involves different kinds of clues.
About what went wrong and why we have not changed
And why I am the person you always blame.

I grow numb to the feelings that won’t disappear
Or maybe it’s you still whispering in my ear.
Telling me how I failed you constantly
But I just thought you wanted my honesty.

It appears that I was wrong again
And I can never comprehend the words you say
It just helps to form the grin on your face
Because you already had me replaced.

With the one that stands in the corner ready to rush in
But he forgot to repent for all his sins.
Rules he knew he broke now we only hope that he chokes.
Falls to the floor….
Gasping for air and all he remembers is the smell of your hair.

How it leaves the room filled with smoke
And all your questions were revoked
So don’t speak anymore tonight,
Because I don’t want to see your knife.

I just want to cherish the moments of seeing the white chalk on the floor
And how I had no remorse for how that outline appeared
It was a vision we saw from the start
And we knew that it was going to fall apart.

I revealed the truth behind that pretty smile
Yet I am the one that stands trial.
Telling stories of the tragedy that took place
I say…. I say I want your eyes to burn a hole in my heart,
I want to taste the salt that is your skin
I say…. I say….. I want to repent for all my sins.

Think

Lonely is hard to feel but when you have lost all hope
It’s the only thing that becomes real.
Hoping these feelings will collide
Wishing that you would walk back into my life,

These thoughts are the only things that help me get by.
Seeing your face in pictures that had been put away,
Have done nothing but keep me awake,
I ask myself questions late at night and I always wonder……

~How do I take these dreams and turn them into life…
Can you help these feelings to subside?
Can you help me rebuild my life?
Can you please stand by my side tonight?

I see the sky turning black.
Please take the knife out of my back
It didn’t help to stop that scratch!
Just bring me some rope
Because I know you will leave me hanging with little hope.

Tell me where to begin
Because this rope is becoming thin.
Seconds tick by and I don’t wonder why.
I know you just want me to die!

Feet dangling above the floor
I see you open the door.
Running towards me crying and screaming
I just had to kill my inner demons.

Before the light begins to fade
I think about the look on your face.
I smiled one last time as I looked into your eyes,
Because I realized..

You helped those feelings subside.
You were going to help me rebuild my life.
You were going to stand by my side tonight!

The End

Pictures leave memories of the truth that burdened our souls.
To make us feel as though we had hold of situations,
That were always out of control.

Stubborn minds and hollow hearts,
We were always apart.
Even when together we could never outlast the weather,
Of shouts and screams but somehow we always had the dream,
Of us together forever.

The only thing I dream of now is morphine in a drip,
So I can take a trip to a place out of state.
A place where you feel no pain, only the rain.
Falling in puddles that appear in my dreams,
To produce an image of the person I used to be.

Dreaming to write and writing in dreams,
My pen is not the gun that it appears to be.
Ink spots cover the paper but can you see past the abstract ideas,
To see the real pictures that come to form in a sea of memories.

Can you use your knowledge to help find my mind,
That is lost in a time when I first saw your face?
And if you can please leave a message that says
The End!

Hopes of Pleasing You

I write in hopes to please you,
I post them so everyone can now see you.
To see the hell you put me through
and diffuse the voices that haunt me too.

I don’t forget what I put you through,
And I hope to recollect and think things through.
But tonight we live in this dream together
Fastened in tight, and ready to take the ride of our life.

But the price for love doesn’t come cheap
So tell me what it is you want from me.
I wish you would just hold me closer and talk a little lower
Because the world seems to be coming to an end

I just want to be forgiven of all my sins.
I want to see what love really is
And feel that passion from within.

I want to feel that fire that burns out of control
Without hearing words that just burn holes.

I want to walk the lonely streets
And see that girl that makes my heart skip a beat.

I want to forget about the past
And find true love that will last.

So can the past be hidden through lies and alibis or
Maybe through the attention that you crave while
I am lying in my grave.
For our memories last forever,
Just like enemies fight together!

Burning Bridges

Don’t say you’re sorry because I know you would say it again.
But say those words again, so I will know where to begin.
To begin my life without you
Without the fear of doubt you placed in minds,
when you were all mine.

And as you walked away,
time stood still leaving me wondering about your relationship skills.
Skills that need sharpening,
or maybe just a knife so you can dissect your own life.

To help you see that what you need is a heart in hand
to help you feel as though you have a command.
But when the stitches become frail, don’t become pale
and drift away from the pain that went on sell the next day

Because the sign reads buy one get one free,
and this is the life you left for me.
Caring only about yourself,
you burned bridges that can’t be rebuilt.
