To My Son

               To My Son
My Darling new baby You are perfect and right
I gave birth to you just before night
I looked in your eyes and felt nothing but love
Lying cradled I thanked the Heavens above
You were a Joy, A Treasure and much more
You are my son, my boy  I adore.

My Darling young son just look what you've done
You've climbed up a tree  just for some fun
What will we do  I cant get you down
I'll phone for your dad he must be around.
How did you get there in the first place?
Oh dont tell me you'd to win that race.

My Darling son just look what you've done
Your rooms to be cleaned! This is no time to run
Slow down a bit you'll have  the job twice
And both of us know  that's not very nice.
I'll give you a hand, I always do
But one of these days it'll be just you.

My Darling young man just look what you've done
Grown up all  handsome and a wonderful son
I'll cherish our moments right in my heart
Because I'm your mum right from the start
You've trained as a Pilot and aimed for the sky.
My precious son this is no time to die.

Tae a Mouse

    Tae A Mouse
      (Whit wid Robert Burns say!)

Ha’ where ye gon ye cowrin feartie
Your impudence protects you sairly
I canna say but ye strut yer stuff
And quite honestly we’ve had enough
Where ye gon ye cowrin farce
Back tae Brussels to kiss their A...se

Yer fair oh face an hair untinted
Half mass trousers and they say yer minted
That chain aroon the neck you wear
It’s heavy, speaks volumes A’ truly swear.
The vision o’ you tied tae the mast
Is something we should hae done in the past.

Pow’r up the engines on the private jet
Scramble the forces we’ve tae get oot oh debt.
Or so she says without a glance
29th March we’ve tae take a chance.
No Deal there say the yins in the know.
Didnae matter if you said Yes or No!

Politics at perties a definate question
tae bring amongst us a bit o digestion.
But take O’leary the King o cheap flight
No managing ony sleep at night.
His massive fleet there stuck on the ground
Doon beside our trusted pound.

Now haud you there while Ive got your attendance
Remember we tried for Independence?
Nae faith back then because we were told
BP’s stopped drillin - We’ve nae black gold
The barrels a’ empty the drillin a’ stopped
Increases in Asda, the penny has dropped!

O wad some Power the giftie gie us
To see oursels as ithers see us!
It wad frae mony a blinder free us,
An’ foolish notion:
What airs in dress an’ gait wad Free us,
An’ ev’n a Devolution

Lure of the Tush

Lure of the Tush
In a far and fair, fabulous land
There's a place it's called Bonnie Scotland
A lad was born in September that year
Strong and spirited wae nae fear
He grew up handsome and full of flash
His wallet aye full wae ready cash
Work piled in tae his delight
Made him bigger and brighter like a star studded night.
She was blonde and shiney - A breath o fresh air
Her looks, her demeanor and standing right there
Curvacous of breast, slim at the hip
Rose petals and Champagne at the lip
His head it was turned, And No going back
His thoughts were about getting her in the sack.
She winks, She flirts 'He looks not bad.'
She taunts and dances to the merry lad
A sidewards glance confirms her suspicion
He's weakened, he's desperate and now on a mission
She flicks her hair ignoring his glances
He's standing and wondering what's his chances
What will it take to woo and attract
Just at that she turns her back
What to do with a woman from Venus
He casts a glance at his standing
Give her the moon, A shove or a push
Now that's what they call the Lure of the Tush.
