I am myself, however, I see me.
The logic others go by cannot bind me.
Who I am is what I shall decide.
It's not easy but that's how I'll be.
Now feeling fabulous
This is my life,
You can watch and stare!
This is how I'm gonna be,
Being the color of the rainbow.
I just want to live my truth.
Because my truth is fabulous.
Like glittering sparkles of gold.
I work on a spectrum and define who I am.
I am who I say I am,
Not defined by another's logic.
For I'm fabulous,
Like a glittering rainbow
or sparkles of gold.
Being who I am
Choosing to live my life.
Having pride in myself,
And that's what I decide!

A quick
Sharp
Pain in a vein
Barely notice it
Blood is drawn
Rushing from the vein
It feels unnatural
Leaving from your vein
But the pain is unnoticeable
as more leaves
A feeling of faint
The one drawing the blood
gives a kind look with their eyes
Taking more blood
worry sets in
Skin becomes ashen
vision blurs
More blood is drawn
To tight in a grip
Body goes limp
What caused the minor pain leaves the vein
Two slow breaths
Ashen
Cold
Dead
Too much blood was

Consuming fire
Bitter ire
Eating away at me,
Turning me into ash.
Burning fire
All consuming ire
Smiling has become strange.
It seems that I've really changed.
Everything I once knew,
Grew a crooked smile and ran away.
Damning fire
Strengthening ire
And all I can do is laugh.
It's not a nice sound.
But neither is,
Lasting fire.

I remember Grandpa Bobby always had to have his Pepsi.
Twelve pack upon twelve pack.
He somehow manages to drink them all.
He needed to cut back,
But I'm the same with Coca-cola.
Then again I don't drink as much.
Here he goes hitting his head again.
Grandpa Bobby loved to smoke cigarettes.
Forgetting both his daughter and granddaughters can't stand smoke.
Pack after pack he smokes away.
But the way he'd smile with a cigarette in his mouth,
I guess we just couldn't tell him to stop.
Now his heart is acting up.
Grandpa Bobby is a stubborn man.
He'll disconnect himself from his family and his daughter has to go find him.
She'll scold him until he agrees to not do it again.
It's funny seeing a parent get scolded by their child.
Just go and drink your Pepsi and smoke your cigarettes,
Grandpa Bobby has been sick since early in his life.
Look at that, his daughter found his biological family.
He finally gets to be reunited with them.
It's time for a celebratory Pepsi and cigarette.
You just want a drink and a smoke Grandpa!
That same silly smile.
Fine, go ahead.
A grateful smile.
One day a police officer came by.
It has been confirmed that you had died.
Grandpa Bobby you just found your mom and siblings.
Your daughter's heart can barely take it.
We all knew you wouldn't have a long life,
But that doesn't mean anyone was ready.
Now that you're gone guess who has to clean up your stuff.
Your poor daughter doesn't even like Pepsi,
Nor does she smoke cigarettes.
But what has been left behind needs to be cleaned up.
You really do know how to break a woman's, heart.
That's why you were so loved.
But, honestly, what are we going to do with all this
Pepsi and cigarettes?

Years ago, in a big transition in my life,
I witnessed three rainbow archways.
Framed by sun-kissed red apartments,
The setting sun kisses goodbye to the cloudless sky.
I took a picture then, between the runs from my old home
and my mother's car. Glistening brow and squinting eyes,
I raised my phone, holding it horizontally, 1...2...3.
I remembered an old meme about double rainbows,
but I found three. Back to putting cardboard boxes into the car.
The pictures were blurry, unfocused, and slightly fuzzy.
Like a memory, from one phone to the next,
The photos get transferred. Until one day, I've lost them.
I hadn't a guess where they went, lost to time probably.
Now I have slightly fuzzy archways to remember within.
One archway for the home I'm leaving behind,
Another for the latest transition to my new life,
And the last for the future I do not know.
A rainbow, a rainbow, a rainbow
Three distant rainbows I have no proof of, oh well.
I need only to remember to ensure they don't fade away.

Moving to a new area,
Strangers to the locals.
A family of five.
Unlike their new neighbors,
Peeping through window shutters
Beady eyes watching them.
It's unsettling.
It's the weekend,
Sunny outside,
The family should be seeing their new neighbors,
But nobody is out.
Only looking out through their house.
How unsettling.
It's unwelcoming
Having strangers stare at the newly filled house.
The air is hot and unforgiving.
Sweat sticks to the moving in family,
Not a neighbor comes by.
Only eyes are watching.
The day grows hotter with the staring eyes watching.
The new family questions their move.
Why are their new neighbors starring?
It's unsettling.
What a disaster,
This neighborhood is uncomfortable.
All the boxes are in the house.
The new family hurries in.
The eyes are still watching,
The new family watches back.
It's unsettling living here.

There are other humans who can disappear.
I can smell it, your fear.
It's alright, I am hungry.
And you're a deer.
Your lover is suffering and angry.
Not like they can do anything.

And whine.

Earlier this year an earthquake happened.
It was either during the late night or sunless morning.
The shaking of the earth woke me from slumber.
Only my mother telling me everything was okay,
Had my panic driven mind go silent.
After the event,
I felt that everything around me shaking.
My paranoid mind keeps feeling the earth vibrate.
Nothing happen time after time.
Panic still grips me tight as I wait for another earthquake.
Whether my mind is straining to sleep longer
Or wide awake during the day,
Tremors of an earthquake keep haunting my mind.
It wasn't long when I felt these tremors within myself.
The tremors match my grandpa's declining health.
In and out of the hospital,
Multiple organs failing,
Too tired to keep going on.
The earthquake in approaching faster than I'm ready.
Tremors nearly daily.
Unexpected crying and random sadness.
Hardly a day goes by without anxiety strangling my heart.
Only God knows what will happen to grandpa.
Too late to be the previous day too early to be the next day.
Grandpa has passed away.
Mama and grandma went to see him,
I didn't have the strength to say good-bye.
All of my grandpas are gone.
The fading tremors off in the distance have left me devastated.

Unclear and unfocused thoughts,
Trapped in negative emotions.
I can't seem to chase away the bad thoughts.
All I can do is sit around.
I'm waiting for someone,
But I can't remember who.

My fingers tremble from anxiety.
I can no longer feel my feet.
My very soul seems like it's frozen.
Chasing away any bad thoughts is not an option.

Courage is something I no longer have,
All I can do is look back.
But it's not like I can go back.
My face is starting to feel numb.
Anxiety is the only thing that I know.

My feet are frozen.
Hands can do nothing but tremble.
My face is now numb.
My soul isn't warm.
I lost all my courage.
I'm waiting for...

Stuck with an afterimage of myself.
It does nothing,
For I can't go back.
Someone will one day come.
But do I even know who?
