The Chance

The Chance to Love You All Over Again

A romance so intense was a gift I received, once so consuming and hard to believe
memories cherished from a hand I long to hold, my ambitions and dreams forbidden to be sold
my trust in you always is the promise that we share, you deserve to have the best of me and know I will always be there

Do we all find love, is this what we are supposed to do?
is it love that we are ultimately searching for, hold your breath if you feel you have too.
the promise of love is a gift of life, to have it once is your first breath, but to keep it is the sacrifice

Treat it with the greatest care and never see it as a chore, or it will leave you alone heartbroken of that you can be sure
to know what you have is to know what could be lost but if it is gone it is too high a cost
respect what you have when it is right by your side, because looking back only serves you to know the pain of a lost love that is impossible to hide

I loved a heart once and stumbled from the path, driven into the woods over time yet it happened so fast
Unable to recognize when the emotions grew old but so aware of my loss as I hide in the cold
I shiver in the darkness in the place it all began, and hope I have the chance to love you again

The Cold Awaits

The Cold Awaits

A pale image left fading in my thoughts of you
are all I have remaining to get me through
to face the fear of what I am forced to do
I delivered myself here by fate it’s true
an attempt to escape myself and not allowing negativity to break through

life’s hard decisions are always faced alone

Each breath I take leaves my heart in doubt
of the path I walk and the ones I care about
leave no one behind and nothing incomplete
be true to yourself and protect loved ones from defeat

Hold true to your integrity, show pride, love and stability
be a leader and embrace the shortcomings of others as a reality
give more of yourself than others expect to see
this is the way to success and the way it should be

Are the ones around you there to dig your grave or celebrate the life you’ve made
the truth is the one thing you should never trade for an easy road out of what lies have betrayed
love is the power of honesty and served best when you care too much
open your heart to the chance to be hurt and allow another to offer their touch
to care for another more than you care for your own heart
is what the spirit of honesty and true love are all about

The lyrics and rhymes all the words are all well known and so old
they are the words we all know so well truth be told
a heart filled with happiness and love will hold
your soul in the end and protect you from the cold

Inner Strength

Inner Strength

I gave up on me and never gave up on you. In the dimmest light, chance illuminates the real desire to fight. I could never feel justified or right, to take a stance for myself before the needs of others, downfalls are outlined by actions and distractions, left waiting to remind you that once you de-throne yourself from your own survival instinct, you are left to the wind of another's careless breeze.

My mistake is I only am who I am when I reflect my identity with things I can see, the tangible world defines the value I refuse to be seen, in myself and insist lives in the heart of everyone else. Patient heal thy self, doctor take your medicine, say it out loud and know that this is how we best serve ourselves, we are all responsible first for us and work through our shortfalls to earn the trust of others outside the pond we create where we live as heroes, and are great, capable of doing unimaginable good, let tragedy be the cocoon that encapsulates and protects you, allows you to take time away to evolve in safety to escape renewed

I have an identity on my own but its not the same when I’m alone, I think I like the one I am, I think I function without another’s plan. I can get past time as I am but free to fall in any direction at wills command give away control.
In exile, is not anything less than a nightmare, I live to second guess, to be a friend, to show compassion, to love to gain all the satisfaction brought by the hands of others, can only be secured in truth when you acquire those emotions within yourself. We live on the decay of our yesterday and experiences thrown away. Learn from it or throw away, dreams open up another way to serve as a guide from the hardest things we try to hide.

Isolation is its own sentence in hell, secluded and silent, the given right to never succeed only fail, create a song that will never be heard, the greatest story written in invisible words, grow a garden to never feed the hordes, should be no surprise hard to see the whole picture, when pieces can be right before your eyes, or out of place, missing or on their way, solutions seem to hide in moments in-between, to be great for me too be great for you, break from the condemned life living, by finding the reasons why we go on every day, is to live for yourself to make advances change the world, by taking chances to love yourself fully to find what romance is.

So simple seen through another’s vision, speak your advice out loud so its someone else’s decision, directions easy to follow as long as they’re given, light the path so you never re-trace a life not worth re-living, but remember your past experience is like a dream, and gone so fast and may never have been. Refuse to erase your mistakes they are meant to be seen, every tower of success is built on a base of incredible mistakes, and chances laid to waste, by lousy half-hearted attempts, and choices that never dissuade, but refine the approach, to get the outcome needed to justify that the greed of others, should never come before the value of the visionary, with the victory conceded well before ever taking the chance to be won, savior unsung.

Truth of Time

“Look into the corners of forgotten places
the meek await their turn, inheritance, the horizon moves closer
recognize there are battles you have already won…

Whose hands compose humanities script, allow us all toseeyour thoughts
their misinterpreted meaning washes the victims away
the walls record the hunt
marvel at the imagery ancient galleries now oceans apart before language
actions spoke, observe the storms, lightning ignites a fire should we put it out

our need for village ingenuity, numbers protect the tribe
the weak are death’s fuel bullies are the strong warriors born
to conquer is to survive to enslave universal
innovation has taught us to escape the world we create

the needy starve as the greedy feast human collateral used in bargaining for peace
build towards the prosperity of all future dead
sacrifice the reasons we work as the job never leaves our reach
smartphones in hand social media slavery we are at your command

truth is a memory kept in secret and never said
a treaty written brought to life
conditions of surrender so peace have a place
end the next battle stopsa war
words of weakness to guarantee more
Truth of Time

Planet Cries

Our planet cries, as the weak and oppressed, pay a price for wealth to rise,
we pollute and consume, while we seal our doom
but power is blind to see, what the scope of the crime will eventually
lead to a preventable catastrophe

The answers I fear, are too obvious and clear
but will never be realized, by the politically paralyzed
where there is no profit, to come from it, the leaders will not see fit
to fix what has already been done

We sacrifice our souls, for reasons no one knows, and work for the greater good
we are never sure why, as our victims die, never told if we should try
stop and stare, or rally to care, one planet to share, without our help will no longer be there
should this not be enough

Dollars and cents, the lower class repents, for the sins of the powers that lead
we all do the work, to cultivate not shirk, the responsibilities to ensure that we all succeed

Forever Hear the Drums

Forever hear the drums

History be kind to the lives left behind to the ones left frozen forever lost in the fields
the battle cries fade as the villains invade through the mist sound muted no direction easily made

Confusion and fear are so common here as the sky is attacking the trees
no clear lines are drawn but we all carry on to a victory the lost never sees

Terror and shouts conspire as the air catches fire commands are impossible to understand
how can the forces control and convey what they know when cut off from the chain of command

Two sides clash together and change the landscape forever and history waits to be found
battle on through endless days so many lives live to be saved sacrifices left by others in the ground

Driven on by the fear is what soldiers revere as the end is so near but the cause is much bigger than one
from the young to the old the message is told through the drums that the infants will hold
for honor untold, these young ones controlled the orders of the day

At such a young age to witness such rage and the darkest parts of our being
with death at their feet and for others defeat the worst parts of life end to be seeing

Be steady young man for the pace of your hand has the power to change your tomorrow
whether we win or we lose stand and fight or refuse all war will end is sorrow

Through the forest of time, your bras buttons will shine and I will stop and take pause to listen
to the drum roll, you cause creates the unity because your message is loud and clear nothing missing

Take care and be safe and stand strong, hold your place not everyone lives through the fear
we depend on the sound as the troops take new ground your song I want to sing so sincere

Praise be to the little drummer boy

I Never Asked

I never asked to b alive, I never had a dream to strive
I was never happy to just survive I never had a place to thrive

I did enough to make it through I did the best I felt I could do
if offered the chance to try again I would use my voice stand up complain

I was never as good as I could be I had may faults no one else could see, I was true to all others except for me

I was a good friend to the rest they know, the choice that I make is the choice to go.

Untitled

Our music speaks to us, it reflects our past
A tribute to the ones brave enough to create it
Rhythmic power celebrates their voices but they are fading fast
Native culture something for the media shows only when they see fit

Indigenous survival is threatened now
Exploitation, isolation, and loss
A future on our land is beyond our view somehow
We have given all through our open hand at tremendous cost

A simple life too much to ask but all we desired
Live in harmony with the land and respect what nature provides
If we had anything of value it was bargained away by greed that conspired
Traffic our path, our land and now our people, the simple way out are the countless suicides

My Closure Song

My Closure Song

Take a look at where you stand, take a look at the life at hand, take a look at how it began, how is must end, were you your best friend, was there a fence looking back that you need to mend. Take your next step carefully, because past this one, is only the end.

Regret set in when there is no choice left, forget that there is any other way, the next step will not hear your voice, for the last time and maybe the first, you are truly alone, and this end is the beginning to what awaited you all along

My tears of the truth don’t cleanse me, they remind me of the one I used to be, and will never see again, once I walk through, departing from misery that I knew, No way out, no way to get back at you, is this what we do, I know you now because I saw the real you, the trick is to commit to what your heart is telling you, I know what you can do, I have accepted your price now let me pass through

I thought I would be afraid at the final moment, I had a feeling something would happen to force me away from the commitment, I walked to the edge and refused to quit, and I failed anyway it’s so hard to admit, prepared to offer it all, no longer concerned about the overall, feelings left in the wake of all I have a stake, the mistake I was about to take, the narrow view of choice I couldn’t shake

Steps and stages driven by the emotions that rage us, keep us under control and cage us regardless of the peaceful war through all stages, keeps us guessing while professing to things that work to deceive, the real meaning of what we are led to believe, will guide with wisdom slap on the wrist, and the reality twist, when things go wrong, we are told to carry on, but these are not the words to my closure song

The act of the death is not about what is lost, but about the knowledge gained is the experience cost.
