Forever Hear the Drums
Forever hear the drums
History be kind to the lives left behind to the ones left frozen forever lost in the fields
the battle cries fade as the villains invade through the mist sound muted no direction easily made
Confusion and fear are so common here as the sky is attacking the trees
no clear lines are drawn but we all carry on to a victory the lost never sees
Terror and shouts conspire as the air catches fire commands are impossible to understand
how can the forces control and convey what they know when cut off from the chain of command
Two sides clash together and change the landscape forever and history waits to be found
battle on through endless days so many lives live to be saved sacrifices left by others in the ground
Driven on by the fear is what soldiers revere as the end is so near but the cause is much bigger than one
from the young to the old the message is told through the drums that the infants will hold
for honor untold, these young ones controlled the orders of the day
At such a young age to witness such rage and the darkest parts of our being
with death at their feet and for others defeat the worst parts of life end to be seeing
Be steady young man for the pace of your hand has the power to change your tomorrow
whether we win or we lose stand and fight or refuse all war will end is sorrow
Through the forest of time, your bras buttons will shine and I will stop and take pause to listen
to the drum roll, you cause creates the unity because your message is loud and clear nothing missing
Take care and be safe and stand strong, hold your place not everyone lives through the fear
we depend on the sound as the troops take new ground your song I want to sing so sincere
Praise be to the little drummer boy
