Marnie Memis Poem
Women wore corsets
Men trundled round
Magical mushrooms
grew out of the ground
Everyone terrified
Of the dragon breathing fire
The far fetched stories
The jolly town cryer
Always so happy
Nobody knows why
It was the magical mushrooms
Everyone was high

Marnie Memis Poem
Look out the hobyah's are on their way
I hope they don't see me
If I don't manage to hide in time
They'll eat me for their tea
A month ago they came to town
Looking for some food
And as they eat humans, I'm sure you'll agree
That's not very good
So if you see them coming
Run into your house
Hide under your table's
Be quiet as a mouse
They live under the hedgerows
And also under logs
Their not afraid of much you know
But their terrified of dogs
You see one time a big black dog
Bit off a hobyahs head
He pawed and bit another one
Until it to fell down dead
The mayor of our little town
Called a meeting today
He wants everyone who has a dog
To chase the hobyah's away
It turned out that the mayor was right
The man deserves a crown
Everyone who has a dog
Chased the hobyah's out of town
So our lives are now much better
And its a well known fact
The hobyah's are away for good
And there never coming back

Marnie Memis Poem
War torn battlefields
Political flop
Who'll pick up the pieces
When they've taken what they've got?
Blood thirsty animals
Scavengers at dawn
Who'll pick up the pieces
When everything is gone?
Disease, decay, rotting flesh
Not a word being said
Who'll pick up the pieces
When everything is dead?

Marnie Memis Poem
You went away, you left me
I can't understand why
Why did you go away?
Why did you die?
My heart it is breaking
My life's upside down
In thoughtsand unhappiness
I'm beginning to drown
You were found on the railway
A train had hit you
I feel so damn helpless
What can I do
I need to face what's happening
Your gone and that is that
Im going to really miss you
My darling pet cat

Marnie Memis Poem
A little girl's heard crying
In her room at Mary kings close
Not everyone hears, only a few
If you listen carefully
You may hear her to
Let's call her little Annie
As no one knows her name
People leave her presents
To try and ease her pain
Pustules on her face they weep
Her body red and sore
She prays each night the pain to stop
She can't take it any more
The pain it keeps her crying
At night it hurts the most
In 1645 Annie died of the plague
And what we hear now is her ghost

Marnie Memis Poem
I cant believe it's happening
Most people do not care
But everyone is guilty
Of putting a hole in the ozone layer
The time has come to think about
Just what we're going to do
The polar caps are melting
And the animals suffer to
They say look to the future
But the future's looking bleak
To chop down a rain forest
May only take a week
We need to stop all fighting
We don't have time to row
We need to save our planet
And we need to save it now

Marnie Memis Poem
A cloud has formed above my head
A cloud of tears and sorrow
My heart still beats, My life goes on
For you there's no tomorrow
You have passed, My life has changed
Nothing ever quite the same
You are no longer in my sight
But in my heart you will remain
Friends send cards and flowers
That say we know you'll miss her
And yes that's true, My heart now cold
My beloved darling sister
(this poem is dedicated to my mother, my aunt marnie and my aunt sheena who lost their
sister Isobel on the 28th december 2008)

Marnie Memis Poem
The sun sets over Istanbul
The days are so warm
The nights quite cool
We walk along the bospheros
Hand in hand
Oh what a mystical magical land
The sun The sea The sky so blue
Turkey is the place to be
To make your dreams come true
The people are so friendly
The people really care
Go and visit Turkey
I will maybe see you there

Marnie Memis Poem
I went walking through the park today
And guess what I did see
A red and green woodpecker
And it was pecking on a tree
Now in its self that is not strange
But let me tell you this
When I walked nearer the woodpecker turned
Smiled and blew me a kiss
That cant be right I hear you say
But yes I swear its true
I don't tell lies I never have
Well maybe one or two
I stood and looked around the park
And things are not what they seem
I waken up I'm in my bed
The whole things been a dream

Marnie Memis Poem
Sitting in the shop doorway
People often stare
They don't know that I'm hungry
And they probably don't care
I'm not an alcoholic
And in drugs I am not stuck
I'm just a normal person
Who is down upon their luck
So when your in your homes tonight
Spare a thought for me
You sleep in a nice warm bed
Me below a tree
So if you pass me by today
And our eyes perhaps should meet
Please spare me some pocket change
And that way I can eat
