The Beautiful Mistake
1st Oct 2010
Once lived in the shadows of ignorance
And had no voice of our own
Blinded by the scale of bondage
Humiliated in our land
And deprived of what was duely ours
Subjected to hard labours
With nothing to show for them
Enjoying the knowledge that accompanies association
And the light of the gospel gaining grounds
We began to acquire wisdom
Our bones became stronger
And our minds enlarged
Our heart then understood
And our spirit received life
This was the beginning of a beautiful mistake
Why should we beg for what is ours
And suffer to please another
Who maltreats our wives and children
Said our fathers
Why live in the slum
When we own mansions
And drink from the wells
When we own the fountain
In the mid of the day
The moon overpowered the sun
And the earth torn open
He that was dead came to life
Dressed in grave cloth
Fully armed and prepared
For a fight of victory
Against the lords of nothingness and obscurity
Then emerged heros who put their lives on the line
That their future may live
Though some fell back to darkness
Their blood still cried against their masters
For the redemption of their children
The land stood in their favour
The clouds heard their plea
The wind out ran their predectors
And the sea harden
At the sight of these
The cords of fear gripped the hearts of the pharaohs
And frustration written all over their faces
Than the mighty knew the way down the ladder
And the lawful captive redeemed
This is our story
This is our song
Once a slave
Now a freeman
Thanks to our God
For that Beautiful Mistake

IF GOD CAN
If God can make a tall tree out of a tiny seed,
if He can answer a little declaration by Joshua changing the cause of time from year to leap year,
if He could lay the sins of the whole world on one man(JESUS), altering the time frm BC to AD,
if He could put His Spirit in mortal clay like me,
if He could sustaine life and the existence of things for millions of years without the help of any,
if He could publish and sustain the message of the new covenant using unlearned men,
if could still keep to his word irrespective of who is who,
if he can still maintain his nature and stand as a respecter of no man,
if he can still keep his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David etc millions of years after them,
if he could show his grace, kindness and mercy on an undeserving man like me because the cross happened,
what is it that He cannot make possible?

Ngozi Akujuobi Poem
17/5/18
As the day draws near...
I think of how that gown will fit...
But beyond the gown...
I think of the fact that I too will walk through the aisle
But beyond the aisle...
I think of the fact that I'm on my way to receiving your golden ring
But beyond the golden ring...
I think of the electrifying heart warming words I'm going to hear
But beyond the electrifying, heartwarming words...
I think of the quality of the heart those words are going to come from
But beyond the quality of the heart...
I think of who inspires it
And by these...
I mean...
I think of GOD
Now I understand more clearly...
that God, who has inspired your quality heart to say and mean the electrifying heart warming words you say to me which has made me look forward to wearing that golden ring of yours after I walk through the aisle to meet you at the altar in that fitted wedding gown of mine...
is indeed A GOOD GOD.
Thank you for loving me.
Thank God it is finally you.
