Who Needs a Map

on one on-ramp, off another,
     getting lost is our fetish.
left turn instead of right,
     makes the night go faster.
Who needs a map when you've got a full tank of gas!

four brand new tires on a gravel road,
     getting lost is our forte.
toll booths,
     even more confusion.
Who needs a map when you've got a full tank of gas!

address of the restaurant,
     right exit wrong turn.
one way streets,
we always need the other direction.
Who needs a map when you've got a full tank of gas!

first date jitters,
two wrong turns made us miss the first two songs.
wedding night,
never should have listened to drinking family members.

Getting lost is when we get along the best!!!

Her

She is curvy but flat where she is supposed to be.
my husband knows all her right buttons.
She lights up a room and makes everyone stare.
he even knows what looks good on her.
Her size varies upon taste sometimes.
he says she's perfect at any size.

I've stopped fighting about Her,
it is easier for me that way.
I just go to bed at night wishing,
     that the T.V. was me!

Tomorrow

"I'll see ya tomorrow" is the last thing he said.
Giving a hug and that cocky grin,
The grin that made you feel special and safe.
The world stopped when he left that day.
Red lights, Blue uniform, no good news,
Nothing can make it change no matter trying how hard.
Think back before the world stopped,
Now we must hug him and remember that grin.
We say Good-Bye gently each day that passes.
"I'll see ya tomorrow" is the only thing he said.
He just never said how many it would be.

Guidance

Following the path that leads no where is the best thing to do.
You see that flowers and trees you would have missed on the highway.
You breathe the sweet breeze from the fields or the salt from the ocean.
You taste the spicy and filling foods that never have passed your lips hadn't you
Followed the past that leads no where.
The path will take you but not too fast you must enjoy the little things before you go.
Once you've seen all the sights your memory can keep vibrant and alive.
Once your breathing is done and the salty sweet air no longer tickles your nose.
Once a new spice or dish can't tempt your tongue or makes you hunger no more.
The path will take you to the place you should be.

Everday Feelings

Come sweet madness that colors my mind with rage,
no escaping what's coming it is inevitable.

Come all consuming darkness that never releases me,
anger, pain, and rage are one with the darkness.

Come never ending pain that reminds me I am to be alone,
to be happy for a moment pricks and stings, i am vulnerable.

Come seem madness that colors my mind with rage,
Come all consuming darkness that never releases me,
Come never ending pain that reminds me I am to be alone,
I am weak without you.
