Premium MemberBalloon Ride

Badger was gung-ho about being up in a hot air balloon.
What does he know? Asked skunk. He is a big buffoon!
But I wanted to go too, and porcupine was ready.
I am going I said to my sour skunk friend, Freddy.

Freddy is my bestie, but he can be silly some days.
He said “you are not going without me. I will bring my glaze.”
His glaze is his specialty; it is tasty on toast and such.
Glad you are coming, I told him. I would miss you so much!

Perry the porcupine weaseled his way into the balloon too.
I tried to discourage him until I saw he had brought beef stew.
So we all jumped in the balloon with a picnic for twenty-seven.
We had a fine day traveling upwards toward heaven!

What Was His Meaning

A corrupt system we live in
                                            Those bullets
                                        Deserved to hit him
                                      Popped him in his chin
                                           Aint no lottery
                                        But he hit the win
                                       Lying and deceiving
                                       He weaseled his way
                                       Into hell that evening
                                      What was his meaning
why did he leave those kids screaming

Gnats

A morning walk, a muggy day,
A little warm for not-yet-May;
The country air both fresh and still -
A pleasant outing, right? Until...

The gnats attacked, around my face
And soon they weaseled everyplace -
Into my ears, beneath my hat,
Along my scalp - I squashed some flat...

But every squished one brought ten more,
Which kept arriving by the score.
I waved my hands, I fanned my cap
Yet nothing worked except a slap.

Some pests are worse for these don't bite
Or sting or keep you up at night
But barring that, I'll bet that stats
Would prove that gnats can drive you bats!
