Bill Clinton still wistfully rants
That tarts hustled into his pants.
But with Hillary’s loss
She’s on guard as his boss,
Denying Bill’s floozies the chance.

We are certainly living in difficult times. But poetry will cope with it I am sure.
Wolves, sheep and a watchdog
By Stanley Russell Harris
The new mad author
The sheep are bleating.
They wander here and there.
They have nowhere to go.
Did I not tell you so?
The safety of his flock.
Is the watchdog’s first indent.
Yet still the sheep are still bleating.
Seems they won’t relent.
Thousands of them are bleating.
Millions well they are not.
As they know the bad wolves.
Might soon kill or maim a lot.
Remember, there are lots of wolves.
No one knows who they all are.
We name them all as terrorists!
Do you know who they are?
Neither does the watchdog yet!
So see what he can do.
Initially he will surround his flock safely.
To stop the wolves, what would you do?

One night he definitely crossed the line,
tip toeing 'round thinking everything was fine,
dog suddenly aware,
caught burglar by tail,
taking a big juicy bite out of crime.

I have seen them
strutting like cockerels on podiums
sweating like pigs in their ill-fitting suits
words bubbling out of their snake forked tongues
-democracy!- development!- unity!
I have seen them
lock themselves up in their posh grave tomblike cars,
is it to avoid the dust of the potholed roads
or the sight of poverty ridden comrades
who crawl along the streets like sprayed bedbugs
I have seen them
prancing along the corridors of power
thirsty for more, more and more
always more while their comrades get less
-Salaries – Allowances—Terms
I have seen them
preach peace but sow strife
scream democracy while muffling fundamental rights
promise development while worshiping corruption
I have seen them
torch the nation with careless words
fanning the flames of hatred amongst comrades
destroying – always destroying!
I have seen them
stamped like buffalo herds
on the foundation of the nation
till it stands on shattered and battered grounds
constitution amendments – always amending!
I have seen them
do all these and more – always more
but like a man condemned
I stand on the sidelines
watching—only watching!

Is the Watchdog Asleep?
By Elton Camp
According to what we have been told
To Medicare a bill of goods has sold
Fraudulent billings too often take place
To steal our tax money is a disgrace
Some medical providers have speeded
To charge for procedures not needed
Or to submit charges for tests not done
Because cheating Uncle Sam is such fun
Some equipment that is sold as being new
Through several patients it’s been through
Even patients may be in on some schemes
He gives his number & of kickbacks dreams
Then if he is asked about it, he agrees to tell
Yes, the doctor did that and did it just so well
Careful checks fraud such as this could detect
And into prison the crooked people then direct
So if the Medicare watchdog is actually sleeping
It is more on the watch that he should be keeping
