The Wide World Web

We were hanging on the thin web strands,

Feet to the north dancing to nature's tunes,

Right hand swinging from East to West,

Left hand supporting us but changing in turns.

 

You swung feet, and they were linked with another's;

You moved hands and the fingers were intertwined with another's;

You peeped across the horizontal, and the glance was locked with another's-

Then the web, weak as van der waal bonds,

Developed to a bond stronger than diamonds.

 

The dance became unnecessary,

The swinging became tiring,

For the only thing that mattered was:

The eyes opposite your glare-that could help u see when yours closed in sleep;

The feet underneath-that could walk the farthest journey when yours felt feeble;

The hands holding yours-that could touch where yours couldn't reach.

 

You seemed strong, even when you felt feeble.
