Trials of Life
After life’s fires and trials
have tried one, His grace should pour forth from our lips,
and more love to my heart He has added
when my wells of salvation I sip.
For those trials are not meant to destroy me
but to strengthen and to make me more fit,
to fight in the Lord’s precious army
the enemy to defeat and unwit.
I used to abhor these times of testing
and even at times they are still grievous to bear,
but when I bring them to the feet of my Jesus
His comfort with me He will share.
You might say to yourself what does she know
look where she is standing right now,
but I’ll tell you my brothers I’ve been through the storms
and continually on my face made to bow.
Oh, such a Glorious Savior
His is the joy of my life,
I count it my delight to walk with Him
on bright sunny days or in the midst of stormy nights.
