Gone are the mellow days the mild days
Now are the days when the color of your pen
Matches your shirt...

These are the days between the days
The days you don't know what I mean days
The 28 year days
The sliding Voice days
The days of great thought, great hunger
Of long lighted days and
Wet creamy days and
Unspeakables, those days
The days of drafts and mildew
The shadow days
The days of longing return
The unfluorescent days
Scattered days
The rare kid-like soda days
The "travel on!" Nowhere Man's days
The unknighted days
The days that watch for night
Suspiciously
Schismically
Detached days
Days of disconnect
Floating down our Broad Bannister
Each bumping nob another day
De day de day de day de day
And to bed you go my baby
Another day awaits...
