I am no bird—yet once I moved through flame,
Before the first dawn learned to name the sky.
I am the breath that dreamed of form and name,
Then woke to find eternity nearby.
No hand may bind the current of the sea,
No heart may cage the radiance it knows;
For love itself unbuilds captivity—
The more it gives, the more its freedom grows.
I go where silence overflows with sound,
Where every step dissolves the edge of I.
The ground is holy where no feet are bound,
And wings are only needed till we fly.
Light calls to light; I answer, calm and clear—
I was not lost—only remembering here.
