Unknown Unsought Unthought

Travelling down these sentences we find
Unknown,unsought, unthought, but always real
A home where we can rest our fragile minds

The people dropped, the habits left behind.
The good, the mediocre, what we steal
While travelling with the sentences we find

The hate that frees, the love that too close binds
The heart, the soul, the body, how we feel
For homes where we can rest our fragile minds

The touch that chills, the distances unkind
Unwished for yet demanding all the soul.
Unravelling are our sentences unblind.

The freezing looks,the glories undermined
Ill timed, ill gotten, ills both new and old,
Hedge homes where we could rest our fragile minds

I have never dwelt in realms of gold;
But there are many stories never told.
Suffering our own sentences we find
A home that welcomes, our more liberal minds.

Premium MemberA Warning To the Government, Redone

Across the war torn atrophy,
A decomposing cracked corpse,
Shakes and splits in the sovereignty,
Of the rounded Earth which warps.

Annihilated by the angst of grouped race:
A false duplicitous spell,
Cast by the convention of crooked space,
Filled by the blackest of magic from hell.

Governance is but a season of treason,
To portent an enemy’s existence,
Denying the bond of unblind reason,
In order to mock the truth of resistance.

Robins once flittered in hooded cloaks,
To unveil the robes of thieves,
Whose crowns are but a farcical coax,
To control what the world believes.

Locked in this cyclical wheel of a hamster,
We pay our unwarranted dues,
With neither representation nor an answer,
To why we’re enslaved by you.

But then again a slave sees no master but the devil lashing a whip,
Which often slips from the grip of twits who dare disparage the blood that it makes drip.

How fickle the tick-tock trickle of skin flicked quick by tickles of thy tyrant’s trick,
Beware, dear brickhead politic, clocks can’t fuel fire when there’s no wick to stick.

Morning Hero

this morning
I sought to be
informed
to become a glutton
for sturm and drang
two dimensional facts
were tasteless
only wailing tears
realtime malevolence
and the correct color of blood
could satiate
the need to know
to swallow evil
feel it burn my bowels
squeeze through my lens
tear my retina
and twist my lips
into unutterable words
emaciate my heart
until I become
the dark fairy tale
I read in my youth
then
and only then
would I be moved to action
untie the tongue
unblind the truth
mount a white horse
shine in sunlit armor
and shield my sensibility
with brute mentality
swing my sword of purity
behead the lame excuses
of paltry personalities
who make the evening news
and forge myself
into the morning hero.

Untold

Untold
By Valerie Odom
Feb 28, 2015

They told us that we’d come into the world unblind
That it was our time
That our generation was the one
And when I’m with the quarters before the dimes

They said our generation was too much to handle
That we’d cussed, killed, and let free of the control
We disrespected
We were defective
Like a monkey being tested
I guess we failed

It ain’t all a big deal
We got drugs and guns
Tv’s and son
Education ain’t on the run

It’s just a matter of cause n effect
They don’t wanna learn now
But in a few years while they got a child
They gone wish they had got sum education

Instead of taking the long road
They got sum scissors
And cut the pathway shorter
They think they aced life
But karma’s a *****

While rent’s due most money spent on strips and little bags of dip
They got time to get take out
But don’t got time to finish that essay

Most families are breaking up
Single ladies are adding up
Why deal with the undealt
Stories untold, never felt
Life’s too short to keep things inside
Just like Trayvon Martin some dreams die
Make most of today cause you might not get tomorrow while it’s your escape.

Wild

Wanton and wild she whispers wizened
So delectably opaque she surrenders sated
Her fledgeling mind warbles tremblingly unblind
So altruistic so soothingly defined
Coloured adornment flames brilliantly in heat
So trembling and trying she walks until him she meets

Crucible of Love

From the scorched earth
of my heart
   Melting memories impart
flashburns on my jelly eyes
radiation from your lies

   In your crucible of flame
I am sick and sometimes sane
   Super Novas in the snow
beaten gold your hearts' aglow
Melting all that's left to say
Golden god with feet of clay

If you don't unblind me soon
I won't even be the moon
Reflecting everything you are
blinding light, erupting star

   Illuminate! send up your flare!
find a dark soul who will care
   I need a candle, just a glimmer
Please come back when you are dimmer
