from hazy pastel shades of blue
bound by storms
a fiery glow
smooth and shiny
zigzags of xanthous and marigold
zooming the horizon
rolling tyrolean choric runes
exquisitely enhanced wall murals
with a flaxen-colored scheme.
as well as soloists
dazzling tangents and
waves of origami art
tune tones and beguile the waves
to an oneiric shimmer

Surreal now, those days
Evanescent seas in time
A wind’s stonewalled aria
Simpering off cliffs…
Tyrolean traverse grit
Hard as granite without mirth
Elevation’s daze
Dared Yosemite’s wizard
Raging froth on green ~ river
etched a deeper gorge
A lost arrow stabbed the lea
mourning an abyssal dream

The sun rose early today.
Chilly air makes me miss her.
The scent of freshly brewed coffee along the Herrengasse brings me to rise.
My head aches from last night’s wine.
The street is quiet like autumn.
A sharp breeze makes me think of loneliness.
A horse-drawn carriage echoes as an old man with a tired beard sips a coffee.
The steam rises from the porcelain cup and gets caught under the brim of his burgundy Tyrolean hat.
He sits alone in the cafe and writes about love.

On our honeymoon to Austria,
Sue liked a Tyrolean hat in green.
Although it was costlier
Than others we’d seen,
I bought it, so I didn’t look mean.
