A Prayer

O' Lord, leave us not alone,
For if thou leave us on our own
We shall wander like a cow in the green field
This world is a labyrinth and a maze
And without Your guidance we may drift away
From the right and chosen path for success
You hold the keys while we search for the doors
You are Merciful, We are subservient
You are our Master and we are your servants
You know what and how to give
We don't know what and how to ask
You are bountiful and we remain tightfisted
You invite us for success and rewards
We look for material gains and hoardings
You are the conqueror
We are the straggler
Leave us not for this hard test
Help us to obey, follow and succeed….
In this life and hereafter..Aameen.

Nicholas

Your fingertips
caress my lips
And heavy breaths
amuse my neck
Our tongues dance
wet and twisted
My hair in your hands
tense and tightfisted

Your arms wrap around me
and you pull me close
Skin on skin
we start to roast
Now hot and sweaty
you push me away
My flesh is burning
is all you can say

We lay apart
though not for long
My hand finds yours
where it belongs

Like Jack

She sits
in the corner
like little jack did,
but she eats poetry instead,
it's the only taste she knows

They don't understand
this language
they call her own
but the poets will
if they unfold these words
of tightfisted paper balls
that scatter the corner
like crumbs

Yet she sits
in the corner alone
hoarding her words
in silence
and she eats all the poetry
so no one knows
except the poet inside

Breathtaking Imperfections

First class brains
Streets populated with them
Flaunting certificates--useless
Plus innate knowledge practical,
But unrecognised

Tightfisted bourgeois;
Alienated job opportunities
Reserved for own kids born and unborn
Capitalism overblown;nauseous
Grab and keep philosophy elevated
Who do you know?Who don't you know?
Keys to haven

You could trudge to the Sahara,
Build sand dunes,clamber atop
To reach the top and maybe sunlight
Slight wind, and you are on the floor:
No foundations
Pack sands,feed on them
Who cares?

Hollow eyes witnessing a party
The favoured few,on Owambes
Overfed.Toothpicks in mouths
Dogs too,fed fat with flesh
Dogs now reject bones
Leftovers left to sour,thrown away

First class brains,crawl in dustbins
Vultures competing
Some days,vultures feed too
On first class brains' corpses

Hollow-eyed pleas.Unheeded
Gentle songs of plea,
Didn't make them yield

Clangs on empty sardine tins
Music violent,tempo risen
They glanced at them, and looked away
Then one day, hunger and anger fired desperation
Bread knives came in handy
Well-fed guts are carved apart
All energy used

Denouement.

The vultures came in the evening
And held a huge feast

Spendthrift-Skinflint

Spendthrift...Skinflint

                              spendthrift
                       extravagant, wasteful
                  buying, shopping, squandering
               presents, parcels, deposits, interest,
                    counting, banking, hoarding
                            tightfisted, miserly
                                    skinflint
