#1
Black,
yellow,
brown, or white--
partitions skin
deep.

#2 WATER MEADOWS

rush
and sedge
hide shady
ponds--teeming
with
life

#3

by
the stream
so shallow,
weeps a willow
tree.

#4 DAYSTAR

dawn
tinges
the bleak sky--
hope enlightens
all

#5

a
sea mist
rolls inshore---
daydreams deluge
me

#6 BIRDSONG

lost
in the
soft mist of
a September
dawn

#7 EQUINOX

Rain
droped leaves,
spotted gold--
scatter in the
wind

#8 MONA LISA

Her
gaze and
smile followed
his every
step

#9

bells
tolling
on the wind--
old memories
die

#10
a
dry rock--
out of the
white water of
life

#11 HIGH RISE
Thin
spires
in the breeze---
tasselled teasels
touch

Lanterne #12

Faint
May breeze----
in the trees
ripples shaded
green

SUMMER DAYS
Watch a swallow swoop
and pass above an old meadow,
lush with grass. Speckled starlings
sing with delight over flying ants
in nuptial flight. Buckthorn in a dense
hedge screen. Ceanothus ,shaded green
Jasmine,Honeysuckle,Bittersweet
scents to mingle in summer heat
Clouds of teasels spiral tall
'midst dancing grasses against a wall
wandering wasps picnicing un-checked
onto perfumed petals,paperwhite
first intoxicate,then delight,
high above Cauliflower clouds,nimbus
topped weep a shower of warm tear-drops.
PASTURES GONE
buttercup yellow
kissing cowslips
dandelion,poppy and daisy,
corn marigold
cow parsley and clover,
a willow that weeps
and meadow-sweet,
deep in a forgotten pasture.

JUST NEAR HERE
Follow the track ,with the scenic view
through beechchwood, common heath
with grassy scrub and clumps of gorse,
in yellow garb;Amble shaded lanes
to wayside pubs .‘Cross meadow gates
and stile ,contemplate ,or, sit awhile
as daisy,buttercup,and cowslip yellow
mix as one in fellowship.Reach a wood
with its carpet blue, listen to a trickling
stream, where dogrose in a briared sprawl,
flower and prickle, meander tall , shading
mallow where tasselled teasels touching
the trees greened with rain.Scent
honeysuckle waxing in summer light,
a heady fragrance to fill the night.
