Living without Jesus is like walking around in a dark room you can’t see where you are going but once you find Jesus it’s like all of a sudden the light has been switched on and you can see all the obstacles in your way and God gently guides you into a new day

A man who is hurt beyond words
Begins to think of crossing swords
The air rending with harsh war cries:
"Shame on who for cowardice flies!"
A man who is hurt beyond words
Terrible things does to binding cords:
No more rushed "Hellos" and "His"
He leaves minds to find out the 'Whys?'
A man who is hurt beyond words
Accepts to fight in feared fjords,
On combat scenes there with war drum
That must talk or he'll war tunes hum...
A hurt-beyond-words: The pissed off,
Whose real self someone has switched off!

Salt lick temptation
lures that dangle,
camouflaged darkness
masks and blinds
Easily captured
when most attracted,
flypaper memories
—trap and bind

Emotion comes in so many forms,
Out of nowhere, it simply arrives,
A certain feeling comes over you,
Can’t believe, twas buried inside.
Now this is fantastic, boy it’s great,
Lost and carefree, again aged three,
Uplifted and ebullient all at once,
Impervious to decadence I’m free.
Nonchalant as a meandering river,
High as a steeple, I’m touching the sky,
Lost in translation, don’t care it’s beautiful,
Chilled out so much, please let me cry.
Dormant inside, but now wide awake,
Got out of bed, and ain’t going back,
Happy tears, where do they come from,
Caught in this moment, a wonder attack.
Thank you so much, I needed release,
Been down in the dumps, far too long,
Its amazing how that switch just flips,
King of the world! pumped up and strong.

"Miss Stokes, what do you think Pip was thinking?"
Uh-oh. I possibly should not have pretended to be my twin today.
I am taking her classes, pretending I am sick, rather than she.
This is 7th grade English, and I have not even heard the word
Great Expectations because my twin hates English as much as I
despise math.
In my English class we are tearing sentences apart and doing boring tree things out of them.
Um....
"I think I have to go to the bathroom!" I yell, clutching myself, running out of the classroom.
My classmates laugh.
Some have been laughing through math and science too.
They all know which twin I am.
It is only the teachers who cannot tell us apart.
I return to see a pop quiz face down on my sister's desk.
The first question is about Pip with enough space to write
sixteen paragraphs.
I begin cautiously.
"Pip is a wonderful dog," I write.....

Not a switch
To turn off
Then back on
At beck and call
Push one way
Then the other
Words meaningless
Without voice
Obey when spoken to
clap
did it work
A relationship
More like a slave
Do I exist
Maybe invisible
Need glasses
Awakening light
Pressed too many times
Icing on the cake
Let me speak
Will you
Hello
I am
On the wall
Turned off

I celebrate no light switched off,
I celebrate no ragged cough,
But sing, I do, the men of mind,
And I myself, who am not blind.
I sing the pride of happy wealth---
That light-foot walk of free men's health
When, with chains of tyrants cast away,
Promethean minds invent and play.
They lighten loads and brighten night,
They make the wings of length'ning flight,
They shake up songs to which we dance,
That light-foot walk may full enhance,
Then smooth our throats with meds upon
To celebrate the light switched on!
