Two wild active Halloween spirits are spookier than most.
Sally senses them in the attic with her usual ghost.
I saw two of them but kept quiet, for I do not like to boast.
They wander in and out of my annual October wienie roast.
Tell me their names then challenges my weird cousin Kevin.
The ghosts laugh. One tells me “say I am Six and he is Seven.”
Six’s sense of humor makes me happy and I smile and sing.
They are friends of mine. It is all you need to know, ding-a-ling.

The house usually held an old lady with unassuming quiet ways.
The door opened, and things came out teethy, in squeamish grays.
We were scared to approach, there were werewolves and such.
Come closer girlie! Said a Dracula who was almost too much.
I wanted the caramel apple, but I was too scared to move.
The entire throng of door openers began to dance and groove.
There were ghouls and ghosts, goblins, creatures out of sight.
I was terrified into silence on this bleak Halloween night.

Do things seem to get creepier
Around this time of year?
Suddenly like all surroundings
Seem to cater to your every fear.
Everything becomes alot spookier
Even shadows begin to take form.
The time of year unexplainable things
Mysteriously become the new norm.
Sounds, normally not thought about
Especially in the light of day.
Suddenly seem to be amplified
When the last ray of light goes away.
Look over there in the darkness.
Just beyond the lantern's light.
Where sanity somehow escapes us.
And things go bump in the night.
Darkness.... A breeding ground for evil?
Are you sure what's been heard or seen?
Are your eyes and ears playing tricks on you?
After all... It's only Halloween.

• My cowboy has walked me to this horse eating pit-
• I think I should dance and jig and throw quite a fit-
• Gators and snakes and no bottom in sight-
• If I put my hoof in it something will bite-
• The ditch is wide and the water is green-
• I’m getting spookier from the reflections I’ve seen-
• Hang on fat cowboy and grab that saddle horn-
• This big ole horse is going airborne!-
• I tried to warn him of the upcoming jump-
• When he hit the ground he made quite a thump!-
• He dusted himself off when he got off the grass-
• Dirt and mud still stuck to his fat ass-
• From his perspective he still failed to see-
• That leap I made surely saved him and me!-
