vulnerable

but
 provides a

in

multiple ways
with

complicated
intentions
&circumstances

thoughts&
 touch
a single
 state of mind
each
 leave their trace

a personal style
 all played
out
on a
  small scale
derived
from looking
 at  the face

in shadowed
interplay
  a transition
 surrounded
& faded to nothing
 in a disconcerting
  way
between self
&image

Tailoring the Path

A lot of sweat gives us pain.
The forest is likely to rain.
Tropical roundwood hugged in stain.
Fossil hydrocarbon and its contain.
People reject geological abstain.

In small patches, dioramas are aware.
Often, in the remote, we felt the stare.
Small-thicket Cantigi snare.
Small-scale landholders blare.
Gave us a nightmare!

with small measure
yet simultaneous
possibilities
     of patronage arise
extravagantly
grandiose & complex
 to proclaim & emphasise

 a lifestyle
well made
in symbols
   anecdotes
on a small scale
genre scenes
    a relative calm
of elegance
simple
   satisfying
     longings

   of poise & rhythm
    spirals float
linear lines
      circular shapes
  small scale
fascination of freshness
    perception personified
 touches the eye
     of the beholder

A floating tension
   between weight&
        lightness
reflections &
       symbolic sensations
abstract &realism
combine
    in  tactile  relief
long incised lines
    of beauty
        where enigma lies

Beam Me Up Scotty

upstairs
the hammers of a piano
mechanically stomp through a tune 
as unwilling fingers
prod at a well-known student piece

a small scottie dog appears
wearing a tartan coat

a light hibernian them
clambers into my head

later
a young child joins me
to sit on the house stoop

I ask her if she likes clementi
the look in her eyes
warns me never to ask again
a small-scale baby grand joins us
sniffs at the little girl and growls

then runs along the sidewalk
looking for someone to play with

Piano Pieces

upstairs
the hammers of a piano
stomp through a tune mechanically
unwilling fingers
prod at a well-known student piece

a small scottie dog appears
wearing a tartan coat

a light hibernian them
rings in my head

later

the dog is huffing melodically
as it takes a dead composer
for a walk
