Sister,
With whom I have grown,
Fighting for a small needless due,
With whom this crew is actually crew,
Nice to know that she is you.
My best friend,
Not more steps we had walked,
But still more gossips we have talked.
Childhood memories remind me a lot,
She is the person, whom I can't block.
Love,
If I would die then she might die,
She is the one who has made me to fly.
From the birth whom I can call mine,
There is no word in which Mom is defined!

I have spent my life in jealousy
Wanting a sister of my own
I begged my parents relentlessly
But they just laughed while I moaned
So this goes out to my sister
The nonexistent one in my dreams
What a pair we could have made
At least that is what it seems
I have heard tales of sisters
Fighting constantly through the years
But I have always wanted my own
To help me conquer my fears
And maybe we would fight
But I would never stay too mad
For you would be my sister
One I would be glad to have

A guide to my difficulties,
A mother to me,
A friend in my every mischief,
To my tears, she is my handkerchief...
From fighting for a chocolate, to being my secret diary...
She forgives me for every mistake even before saying a SORRY!
Her beautiful smile,
Her gleamy eyes,
Her presence always feels like a Sunrise...
My Friendship with her is nothing new,
But, friends like her are very few...
Just like the heart functions with its beat,
I need her to walk along with me in every dark street...

No matter what you are going through
No matter how high the mountain
Or small the hill
I will be right by your side
Leave you…I will never will
I wish I could be there with you
But in my thoughts, I am next to your side
Although miles separate us
In my mind I can see your smiling face
This battle you are fighting
I am beside you every step of the way
I am praying for God
Just to take it all away
If you feel me holding your hand
That is because I am
If you feel me holding you
My arms are wrapped around you as tight as I can

I know we fight.
but not in spite.
but deep,deep down.
it is like a golden gown.
we do love each other.
not like any other.
all sisters have bad sides.
it is most definitely a bumpy ride.
but as I said you are my big sister.
and I am a right little devil.
you try to fool me like saying there is a ghost.
but when it matters most.
when bullies are picking on me.
you are there with the key.
to sort it all out.
that is without a doubt.
we do love each other.
but most the time it does not show.
and we are fighting like any other.
sisters will never change.

From the moment they arrive,
you know there will be trouble,
jealousy takes over,
and they make your life hell
So much yelling and fighting,
competing and boasting.
The foundation of family
They follow you everywhere,
and embarrass you completely,
no regard to your feelings,
just their own
But you still do what you can,
to be the best big sister you can be,
protecting them,
loving them
If anything happens,
you're the one she turns to,
to help her,
and to make sure she does the right thing
They copy you,
not to be annoying,
but because they aspire to be like you,
so make sure you watch your tongue
And sure it's difficult,
changing your plans for them,
spending your money on them,
by hey!

From the moment you were born,
From my own hand you arrived.
You’ll always hold that special place inside me,
Until the day I die.
From day two you were mine,
We took everything in our stride.
You completed our little family,
Those were happier times.
Your brothers and sister adapted quickly,
Such an influence your presence became.
There was never a dull moment in our house,
There fighting over you drove me insane.
Now all that’s left is emptiness,
A void that will never be filled.
I’m not the only one who feels it,
Your brothers and sister do too.
Everything that has transpired,
Is no fault of your own.
In the power struggle of relationships,
Children unfortunately get caught in the cross fire.
I miss and love you so much,
But I refuse to let you be used.
So by turning my back and saying goodbye,
Is ripping my heart in two…

I have lived for all of my life without a sister,
I could have survived and went on forever,
Without any trouble nor a single disaster,
It is fate and I could not change a single matter,
She does not like poems; neither is she a speller,
But smart and cute, enthusiastic and younger,
New feelings pouring into me ‘cause of her,
Feelings of having a new person, a new sister,
Not screaming and fighting against each other,
Neither pretending to be invisible but rather,
Being next to me sharing a smile together.
We will sit on a hill at night in the winter,
Cold as it is but we would share the heater,
Heater of my body and her’s embedded together,
Feeling comfort and secure will turn it into summer,
Under the shining stars we will lighten forever.

Where’s my sister gone?
The holiday season all wrapped up
A tarnished blanket of snow remains
Flipping the page into the New Year
Filling our thoughts with hope and cheer
A ringing phone, a joyful hello paused
Crying and sobbing, collapsing to her knees
Your sister, Connie’s been in a wreck
Somehow our big old blue station wagon found the way
leaving a blurry trail of street lights
Our hearts pounding, eyes filled with tears, pacing and praying
Waiting and waiting the doctor finally came in
Leading my parents away to see their little girl
Her boyfriend walked in, not even a scratch. How can that be?
She’s fighting for her life and he doesn’t even look like he’s been in the car
She flew through the windshield. He was pinned in his seat.
That New Years Eve forever changed our paths
My sisters gone, their daughter too, a jumbled family not sure what to do
Her body remains intact and functioning too
But her mind, she’ll never be the same; you know who.
I’ll never get my sister back.
A broken family, a missing link
Has made us appreciate each other every day.

Walking in your shadow
No one can see
The face of an angel
Let me be free
In a world full of pain
You hide it so well
Cover my mouth
And keep me in hell
The stuff you pulled
I can’t believe
You put your man first
In front of me
Your life’s messed
So you messed mine too
Told all those lies
To cover the truth
Before it happen
You knew what he’d do
Still you let them take me
Four years of abuse
Your place was my get away
But not for long
Your mans eyes showed lust
In the youngest of wrong
You knew it was happening
But turned your head
We tried to tell you
We cried and pleaded
He molested me
And my little sister
I’ll kill that mother ker
He comes near her
And still today
You stand by his side
Swear up and down
You’re in the right
You need help
You know you do
It’s your choice
It’s all on you
The drinking and drugs
The fighting and abuse
It something I’ve learned
My kids will never go through
So with all the mess
And all I’ve been through
I’ll look you in the eye
And tell you thank you

We might have been cursed
being ten years apart
but you will forever and always
hold a special place in my
heart
from the moment I saw you
I knew you were the one
who I wanted to laugh with
and grow with
til I could no longer see the sun
we've had our ups
and most certainly our downs
moments of yelling and fighting
but we've always stuck around
Some might say we can't be best friends
maybe it's the age difference
but we always just laugh
and say let's do it again
For you are my best friend
through and through
No matter where life takes us
just know I'll always miss you
So let some say it's a curse
for I strangely disagree
the best thing in life to happen
was you and me
I've loved you Brooklyn
from day one
and I can't wait to have
some more sisterly fun
From watching you grow
from that sweet little child
to your terrible twos
here we are now
man how time flew
you're my best friend
my sister
my twirp
and most definitely my brat
no matter what life throws at you
I will always have your back
I can't wait to see you grow
and to achieve the best
but for now stay young
and get some rest
Just know I love you
and I'll be here til
this crazy thing called life is done

She sleeps on the south, I sleep on the north side of the bed
Each night we take turns, staring at the wall
The Mason Dixon line, runs through the center of our bed
I just wish she'd cross over, into these arms of mine
And bring back that rebel yell, that loving battle call
But each night I feel the cold north wind, in this Yankees eyes
Today it's just another day, of blue and gray
Today it's sister against brother, friend against lover
Still can't recall, what we're fighting for
Can't recall, what made our hearts fall so hard
Just another Civil War, tearing us apart
Just wish we could surrender, to these pains of the heart
I still wonder how it all went wrong, how we drifted so far apart
How these cotton sheets got tangled, on this bed of ours
It's hard holding back, the fire in this Yankees heart
Hard surrendering, to blue eyes turning red
Just wish I could remember, what we're fighting for
Cause we both know, we can't win this civil war
Today it's just another day, of blue and gray
Today it's sister against brother, friend against lover
Still can't recall, what we're fighting for
Can't recall, what made our hearts fall so hard
Just another Civil War, tearing us apart
Just wish we could surrender, to these pains of the heart

Opening my eyes for the very first time,
I saw a glorious face
who looked just like me.
Admiring and giving me warmth,
holding my tiny little finger,
promising to never let me go.
We grew up together,
seeing each other's ugly faces,
playing with dolls ,
fighting over clothes and chocolates,
pulling each other's hair.
That was our meaning of love
which our mom failed to understand.
Fortifying each other from every harm,
sharing laughter, wiping tears,
sharing secrets, clicking pictures
and playing until we were exhausted.
Those were best times we will always cherish
Just like pizza and cheese
Until we realised we were old enough,
she disappered, far away,
to start a new life.
Leaving me behind,
leaving those toys and clothes
and the never ending hugs.
Every single second I felt broken
with no one to fight or laugh with.
She broke her promise to never leave me.
But neither did she have a choice.
Yet, in our hearts,
we make a pact.
Never expressing how much
we miss the other
as we yearn for the endless love.
We seek those magical moments
over the video calls, but in vain.
As I am waiting for our next hug,
I realise how lucky I am
to be blessed with a 24*7 Best Friend
who made my bad times good
and the good times unforgettable!!

You bloomed earlier just to annoy me,
You started fighting even when I was kid,
Your words showered like pots and pans,
Albeit you are with me....
You smashed me like berries..
We do have war for every simple things,
You dare to touch my things,
Just to start wrestling match....
If you are north I am south- if you are
East then I am west...
We are opposite directions in characters...
If I am a bat you are a ball in the cricket match...
Every country can maintain peace,
But we just exist to create war in home...
If we have any candies or fries,
We will become real life Tom and Jerry..
Having gold or diamonds we never mind...
Having a TV remote is like ruling the world..
We are the best rivals...
We fail to give rest to mom and dad.
If I touch your things - Earthquake will happen...
If you touch mine - there may be volcanic eruption...
We blame each other just to confuse mom,
We curse each until clenching our teeth...
We are grown up, though we start fighting
for the biggest piece of sweets..
We do all things crazy to end up with fight...
Looking forward for the day of your wedlock,
Just to occupy your room..
Best rival but not my enemy...
Best warrior not for others, only for me...
If you cry, you will be the ugly duckling...
If dare to read this, I swear there will be no me tomorrow...
As a rival from my birth I wish you,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SISTER!

While kneeling and praying and talking to God;
He said He did not like seeing the sisters at odds.
He was tired of the cussing, fussing and fighting,
He was tired of the gossip, strife and backbiting.
We say we are His children and we love Him so,
And the way we treat each other is as if we don't know.
That if we search His Word in it we will find,
That even Euodias and Syntyche were not of the same mind.
They labored with Paul, yet they both were at odds,
And their anointing; their gifts were given by God.
There was no need to argue and no need to fight,
No need to gossip, tear down or backbite.
Now these ladies may not have done all of this,
But as women of God, they did one are two on the list.
We are not in this walk for fortune or fame,
We are not here for a reputation or to make us a name.
We are in this walk to give God glory, honor and praise,
Deny ourselves, take up the cross and do what God says.
We must refrain from criticizing and putting one another down,
We must give words of encouragement and put a smile where there is a frown.
As pieces to a puzzle we must be perfectly fit,
Working as a team to pull souls from the pit.
Building up, building and not tearing down,
Bringing home a baptized church and then we'll get our crown.
For together we stand, divided we fall,
We must live a life that is a light to all.
So ladies let us come together in love, joy and peace;
No longer shall we be at odds, let the division cease.

Stella, you are my sister and my friend, a woman so strong.
You’re friendly, funny and with soul, you sing a song.
A beautiful woman, great mom and loving grandmother;
for my sister, I wouldn’t want any other.
I feel I have been so blessed
with a sister who is the best.
I can tell you my secrets, no matter how absurd.
You never judge me; you just giggle and say “awkward”.
You were there with me when I had my first child.
You helped me stay calm and keep my temper mild.
I remember you said, “When you push, it won’t hurt.”
After my first push, “You damn liar, it still hurts,” I did blurt.
I can’t help but smile and laugh at so many memories we share.
I know deep in my heart, when we’re both old with grey hair,
we’ll still be laughing and finding humor in each day,
even if it’s just making fun of girls who obsess over our brother Ray.
God has given you a special gift of creating beauty out of blank canvas.
With each paint brush stroke, you bring to life a picture that’s first class.
Sister, I’m so proud of all you do
and the bright future in store for you.
You’ve been fighting such a tough battle; you keep the faith and never quit.
There’s no doubt that you will beat breast cancer and conquer it.
You’re strong, so courageous and I look up to you; you inspire me.
I want to touch people’s hearts and souls as you have touched many.
If I can touch the heart of just one person, maybe two,
I will feel my life wasn’t wasted; I want to be a blessing like you.
My sister, my best friend, you’re always there to encourage me.
You make me want to be a better woman and be all I can be:
Super mom, successful career woman and poet extraordinaire.
Your faith in my abilities, the way you show you care,
helps me believe that I can do anything and I can do it all;
no matter how big my dreams are or how small.
Thank you for your unconditional love.
You are truly a blessing from heaven above.
Love you today and always.
For you I give God all the praise!

A river of tears down my cheeks they roll
all in an effort to clear my mind and cleanse my soul.
Thoughts of my sister and the fight she is in;
the faith, strength, and determination she needs to win.
I hear it in her voice, the struggle to stay strong;
she tries so hard to act like nothing is wrong.
I know her too well, the inflection, it’s there in her voice,
she tries not to cry and then she has no choice.
No longer can she choke back her tears;
she breaks down crying and tells me her fears.
Her hair is falling out in clumps with every touch.
The locks and curls in her hands are just too much.
She’s been through it before, yet wasn’t prepared.
Losing her hair and going bald doesn’t make her scared.
Looking sickly and weak is what she fears most.
She doesn’t want to be stared at like she’s a ghost.
She’s not looking for pity or to be treated different;
She knows people will see she has cancer and pass judgment,
staring at her, whispering, strangers feeling sorry for her.
Instead, my sister wants to inspire others to be stronger.
She sometimes feels her family doesn’t understand,
they all want her to feel comfortable and
walk around the house with her baldness exposed.
She’s been feeling like their minds are somewhat closed.
They don’t understand how sad she is feeling;
It’s not about her bald head she’d be revealing,
it is about feeling it’s her right to cover her head.
She doesn’t want to worry or scare her kids is what she said.
Crying and sobbing on the phone, asking me if it’s okay
because she thinks she’s being selfish to feel that way.
I tell my sister that she’s the most unselfish person I know
and it’s HER decision to not let her bald head show.
She’s doing it to shield her family and close friends.
Her love and deep concern for us never ends.
If I had one ounce of her strength and determination,
I would be a much better woman; she’s my inspiration.
She’s fighting her second battle in the war for her life,
but she’s going to win the war against cancer because her faith is rife!

Making up dance routines to the top twenty,
every Sunday evening with laughs a plenty
dragging mum up to dance, with her all a fluster
trying to show her our steps to songs like "Blockbuster"
and us all singing "I cant let Maggie go"forgetting most of the

volume high on the radio
pulling faces, silly voices laughing and joking
and do you remember Players no 10 that mum was always
smoking?
the fighting ceased between us all, just for a little while
our groovy clothes that we once wore, now thats what I call style!
cream soda, sweets on a Friday night, watching tales of the unexpected, giving us
all a fright
breakaway biscuits, beans on toast, chicken and rice, mums Sunday roasts!
skating down Tudor ave from the very top, jacks cartwheels and hopscotch
some of the games we use to play, having our lovely grandad coming to stay
those were the days that still make me smile, the feeling of togetherness, being a

looking out of mums bedroom window,on a firework night, marvelling at the
colours,how they shone so bright
memories of mine that I hope you remember too
because my two beautiful sisters,I truly do love you..

TREASURES OF YOUR SOUL
Just a reminder before I start…
This comes with Love from your Mother’s heart
It was Saturday September 1987
When my prayer specifications arrived from Heaven-
You see, long before I was your age I asked God to Bless me one day with a son
And that was how the thought of you had first begun
So, Twenty -one years ago to this day
You arrived…perfect and handsome in every way-
As baby and toddler you were way ahead of your peers
Showing wisdom and intellect beyond your years
Added to that a head of hair to astound
Made you without doubt, the best looking kid around
At 6 months old you said your first word-
Wait for it…”Ninja Turtle” is what we all heard-
This was hardly surprising in retrospect though
As your love of sword’s and sword -fighting started to show
You started to question us on everything in sight
No doubt in our minds, you were exceptionally bright
When your sister arrived you were almost three
Chat to Keelyn, and you will find she’ll agree…
That having a sister was no issue at all-
In fact you were her protector and mentor from the day she was born-
The love that the two of you share,
Is unique, very special, and extremely rare
As young adults you still nurture this bond with each other-
You make great siblings as sister and brother
I could write pages, so many things to relay
But here is the important stuff I need to say…
You care about your Faith, Family and Friends...
And still-- the heights of your Academic achievements know no end
From the day you could speak the sentence we heard most of all-
“When I grow up a Dr. will be my vocation and call”
Four years into your Medical degree
We realize how seriously you took that first plea
You learnt to discern from an early age between right and wrong
I am pleased to acknowledge in God’s Kingdom you firmly belong
I love you so much…a love that has no measure
To have you as a son - a gift from God I will always Treasure-
So as you celebrate this milestone age of Twenty-one
It goes without saying- you make us so proud to have you as a son
(Footnote: My son is now 25—a qualified Doctor, and firm in His Faith)

The victim, the perpetrator and the rescuer.
Gina had a sister K, from childhood K would physically and mentally abuse Gina. Even after K died, she came through the dark to attack Gina. K was eight years older than Gina. She manipulated their mother and Gina didn’t get the same chances as her. Even on Gina’s wedding she only got a few basic items from the family while k got grandeur items.
Everyone in the family knew there was a demon in the house where they all stayed, there was fighting and abuse. No one stopped it, their mother and father didn’t do anything about it. The demon followed the family where ever they went as they were in a portal, an action by there grandfather who had fallen in so did all his family. They were all tagged.
As Gina found out at her expense the demon was a double dealer who would let out anyone that paid him.
Gina was plagued by horrific visions; she felt the pain and dark all around her. She didn’t know what it was. Until she managed life accepting this is the way it is, no one believed her, they said it’s just your imagination. She could actually see the demon. Gina thought he was handsome. She started talking to him, he seemed charming, lovable and he would say, “keep guessing”.
Gina learned that k was stuck in the portal when she died and was collaborating with the demon how to pay him by stealing Gina’s points. The demon would show anyone who asked that Gina had enough points to let all her family out. He advised them to stay friendly and as for forgiveness from one another, but they didn’t. The demon didn’t like the fact that they thought he was some sort of murderer and would slyly work around them. K in the portal managed to persuade the demon to carry out some attacks on Gina with the points she had. He would let Gina know that K paid for it and she was after her points.
He also asked Gina with the points she had would she pay for k and let her out so her soul could finally go to heaven.
Gina thought about it, all Gina suffered for all these years was because of K. Gina refused, she paid for herself to be let out when the time came.
After all k had done the worst to her in life and even in death, she came after her by attacking her and ruining her life.
The abuse was constant terror of having to suffer visions while she was asleep, so horrific that she had mental breakdown.
So now Gina made a pact with the demon she will stay friends with him as he let her out of the portal a golden door. The demon gave Gina a red rose for their friendship. The demon told her that points in life is very important, for that’s what let her out. She should not keep things secret but to relay it somewhere so it can’t be used against you. The only way k persuaded him was by deviously trying to steal Gina’s points while in the portal. Devilish scams work in portals in hell.
As I was cornered
I watched the hex being lifted from both hands
I wondered this arrived thirty years ago
I was suffering
Why would anybody throw me in the deepest corners of hell
While alive
Everyday was a living hell
So, who was it that did this to me
Why am I getting freed
Did I pay hells rent
To my surprise
It was my close family
Today I’m walking free
But why
Jealousy
That’s all I can say
Even though they had much more than me
Even oppressed me, still they weren’t satisfied
Now they can pay their own way out.

I couldn't see your struggles, or perhaps I missed a sign.
I wish I would've noticed, noticed you weren't fine.
You laughed with me the day before...
And now I wish that I would've said "I love you more."
I was ready to go to church, but then I heard a crash.
I wasn't sure if it was you, but anyway I got up in a dash.
I saw you lying there I was screaming your name.
I screamed, but there was no response. I felt it was my fault, I felt the blame.
I didn't know the demons your were fighting.
I only saw you laugh as Umie was biting.
I called Mom and she told me to shake you.
However I knew you were gone because your skin was blue.
I ran to the kitchen, I ran to Dad.
He shook and screamed with no response, I knew that it was bad.
I did as Dad asked and I called nine-one-one.
However, your demons fought a battle and this one they won.
The medics and firefighters came and did everything they could
If I could go back in time and change what happened I would
I didn't know the things keeping you up at night
However, I do know what happened to you wasn't right,
I got calls and texts asking if I was okay.
I thought I wasn't, but the pain I was feeling was child's play.
Instead of them asking me, I should've asked you.
I thought you were getting better, I didn't know you were so blue.
We went through our day and we moaned your death.
We cried because that day you took your last breath.
I will always be sad that you went so young.
I wish I had picked up the phone when it had rung.
I want to go back and help you with your trouble.
I could've helped you, helped you out of the rubble.
You are gone now and there's nothing I could do.
But know that I love you and I'll miss you too.
Many told me, "I'm here if you need anything."
Those people just never asked you when all you needed was one big thing.
Your cries were help were labeled at attention.
However if you were asked you would've able to mention.
You didn’t deserve to feel the way you did.
If someone would’ve reached out your problems would’ve rid
You didn’t deserve to die
Maybe it would be difference if someone would’ve noticed when you would cry.
I was at the mall the day before you went away.
The last time we talked I called you back, I wanted to know what you wanted to say.
You told me that you called to ask what soda I wanted from the store.
We finished talking so I said I love you, and as I hung up the phone my heart tore.
I didn't it know it then, but I know it now.
The last thing I said was I love you, but others didn't get the chance I got.
Oh, wow.
You are gone from Earth, but you aren't forgotten.
I wish I would've cared more instead of being so rotten.
You loved me so much my whole life.
Maybe if I would've showed you the love you showed me you would've one day been someone's wife.
You are gone now and I don't know what to say.
I just know I want to go back and be there before you left that way.
I'm so sorry big sister.
I didn't realize your life was a twister.
You were spiraling out of control and I didn't help you out.
Instead all I did after you were gone was cry and shake and shout.
I loved you so much,
But you'll never know what I thought about you such
as how I loved that one pair of shoes
or how I loved your magic kisses that healed my boo-boos.
It was Sunday, January Two-Nine,
I woke up and you seemed fine.
A few hours later and you were gone.
If only I would've awoken you at dawn...
I couldn't see your struggles, or perhaps I missed a sign.
I wish I would've noticed, noticed you weren't fine.
You laughed with me the day before...
I wish that before you left I could've said that "I love you more."

My heart stopped beating with hers-
for we were connected by blood and
tears.
If only Karen was here…
once again.
Yes, I could pick anyone in the
entire universe; I know this.
Yet, one million times I’d pick
my sister over and over until
there were no more numbers
in the world to count.
“Karen-
you’re the magic that holds the
stars up in the sky.
You decided to trade places with an
angel far too young and now the
empyrean Eden called Heaven is
graced with your presence.”
You ask me why she would be the
one person I would absolutely beg
God to send back to me-
(and believe me I have...
...many times).
I will say to thee in a gentle hush
with a tender tear in my weary eye,
my life began with her and ended
when she decided to run and die.
Why she chose to die I may never
comprehend-
or maybe I do understand all too
well, and that could be the problem.
Years of youthful abuse sent her on
a whirlwind of adolescent turmoil.
By the time she reached thirty she
was so severely damaged,
but I always saw the beauty in her
scars-
you know, the ones others saw as
repulsive…
nope, they weren't to me.
She wore those scars with pride.
Hid them in public but when we
were together her wounds were
too prominent to forget.
Though she lived in continual
desolation for years,
she was still the one to make my
soul shine when ebon nights
called my name.
If only God gave me one more
day with her-
no...
just one more moment.
If only I could look into those big
doe chestnut eyes once more,
I’d think to myself,
“maybe this time will be different,
maybe I could finally save her
from herself-
the way she saved me many a time”.
She held me first after my mother
gave birth to me when my daddy
was too drunken to even want to
meet me.
She changed my diapers when mother
was too preoccupied fighting with
daddy-
night after endless night.
I passed grade school because of her
patience in doing homework with me;
I learned how to cook and do laundry
at a young age not because I had to,
but because she took the time to teach
me.
I now carry such deep adoration for
dogs because she gave such a warm
and loving home to eleven of them up
until the day she tragically died.
I did receive one special gift from her
after she died-
Her sweet Golden Retriever Bo became
part of my family of four overnight.
I gently rubbed his ears every night
when he seemed lost without his
mumma;
he tenderly gave me slobbery kisses
when I seemed lost without my sister.
For we both shared a common pain-
we would never see our best friend…ever again.
When I read this contest title today at
5:02 pm, only one person came to mind.
Without a doubt and with all the
certainty I carry deeply in my heart,
I would welcome Karen back into my
life with gratitude if given the chance.
Then maybe,
just maybe…
I could smile-
once again.
I will say to thee in a gentle hush
with a tender tear in my weary eye,
my life began with her and ended
when she decided to run and die.
*sorry this is so long...I just couldn't stop my muse.*

When you told me..,,
When you told me you had cancer,
i could not believe it.
My little sister is poorly and I wish it was me.
You told me not to worry then you said.
“ I’ve got it covered and it’s not going to beat me. “
So you named your cancer Brian and you said.
“he’s not going to kill me, I’m going to beat this”.
Our family was devastated and said why You?
You was such a kind and a caring person who would do
anything for anyone, unlike me who was a ..
but we are a strong family and will do what ever it takes
to help my little sister beat this deadly disease.
Test after test you had, And you always kept on saying
‘Brian’ is not going to get me’. ‘
As I am brave and strong.’
Just before the chemo started you shaved your hair off
and what was left was so soft and fluffy.
When the chemo started, I thought how brave you are.
Then once again you said,
” I’m going to beat this and I will be a survivor”.
“I want to ring that bell and I want my life back”.
The first few chemo sessions were going so well,
you wasn’t sick or poorly,
You was just your normal happy self.
We were going out each day
laughing and giggling along the way,
Making memories in those happy days.
Then covid19 came along it changed everything
and we all had to stay in.
We would speak to each other everyday
but that just wasn’t the same.
Boris made some rules for the country to obey,
but rules are made to be broken,
As a family we broke the rules,
sod you Boris and your rules..
Finally when I got to see you, I couldn’t
Believe my eyes, how much you had changed,
My poor little sister is just wasting away.
You wasn’t really eating because you
always felt so sick.
You were always sleepy and
had no energy.
When it was your birthday we all made a fuss.
You got lots of presents so it shows that you was truly loved.
But when your birthday cake came out with candles all a light
you looked so sad.
I knew what you was thinking,
This is my final birthday.
my last one.
You were dying and fighting a losing battle.
Brian was about to win,
you was frail and tired and so weak.,
I know you just wanted to give up.
Then you started to get really poorly and it was sad to see,
My little sister is dying right in front of me.
Your last chemo had Changed you and
you became really funny.
Your arms were covered in bruises
and they were black and blue.
You looked so little and small compared to me.
Then we were told unfortunately there’s no more we can do,
So we sat and prayed and watched that’s all we could do.
On the Thursday night,
me, mum and Mick we sat round your bed,
Just crying and watching you..
We played songs to you and sang.
As I was holding your hand I was breaking my heart.
How could you god take her away from us, and why?
The night went so quickly and then the sun came up,
you were staying here with us for another day.
The Friday night came but I didn’t stay .
I couldn’t handle seeing you suffering in this way.
Mum and Mick watched over you and prayed .
Asking god to come and take you home
as they didn’t like to see you suffering.
You made it through the night
and was still here.
But when the sun came up
and the morning was to begin .
Mum and Mick were watching you,
The sunlight coming through the window
you took your last breath and sadly died.
You had ended your life’s journey
God has asked you to come home
as your work on earth is now complete .
We will never understand why you ….
They say everything happens for a reason….
When or if will find the answer to this reason…
The hole you have left in my life and
heart will never be replaced,
But I know you are in no more pain
and have gone to a better place.
I love you and miss you.

Damian Stood at the bottom of the
Staircase and Yelled "come on Mallory
Delilah we're waiting. Let's be About this."
This shopping time there was even
More family Members indulging In
The food shopping fiasco.
Molly and Dolly came down stairs
In a hurry, "Don't abandon the cooks!"
We are here!" Dolly was excited and
Salacious delighted. They were on
The road including cousin Desiree
And her husband Jason who was
Also Damian's friend. So the journey
Began. Frankly said to Damian.
"The last time I saw the news they
Were mentioning extensive food
Shortages." Damian frowned,
"Yeah partner we will do our best."
Hopefully it'll be a successful run."
45 minute drive. They arrived..
There were some luxury vehicles
Parked in the lot.
"This don't look good."
The fountain food fiasco was about
To begin. The family obtained their
Individual carts. "Oh my goodness!
This place is ground zero." CJ said.
Damian shopped by Dolly and Molly
Side. DJ and Amadeus was in front
Of them. There wasn't much food left
"Oh boy" Damali said, "Well let's
Shop the cruel ball warriors way."
Pandemonium our style YEAH!!
MAMA SAID HIT 'EM HARDER!!
COME ON!!"
Damali grabbed a pack of chicken
From a man. And put it in his cart.
Meantime Desharah and Sedanah
Only had a container of milk and a box
Of cereal. This is kinda bad." Sedanah
Said. Desharah replied, "I hope it
Doesn't get any worse." Sidney and
Saderi shopped with Adonis. Amadeus
Hung with Pierce. They snatched
Anything available. Pierce said,
"So far we have A 5 pound bag of rice
and 2 big cans Of beans and some
Damn toilet paper." Damian with his
Wives managed to accumulate
A 2 gallon container of milk and
3 packs of lamb which looked as
Poor as quality can get. They all had
Separate carts. Dolly asked, "You
Think we should... maybe visit some... And
Who in the hell will use all of this Toilet paper!!
Nobody will have bowel movements.
If we don't have food!" They looked
At the three carts and groaned.
Molly said, "Maybe there's a
Food warehouse opened."
That's just being really hopeful
You know." Dolly quipped quick.
Damian saw CJ a few
Paces away fighting with a woman
Over the last pack of chicken.
"She got a good grip and snatched
The pack away saying, "You already
Have a pack! Don't be greedy! We
All need to eat." We have families
Too!! Okay! Damali went to him.
"That's okay Dad let her take it."
We don't have enough food either."
The family met at checkout.
Amadeus and Pierce together had
Mostly milk cereal one pizza
Rice and beans and paper towels.
DJ said, "yall did okay Ame."
Pierce said, "Don't be concerned
DJ I'll share with you and Damali."
They searched for other family
Members in checkout. Amadeus
Saw his mother father and his
Aunt Saderi with Dolly. Neither
One had much In their carts.
Uncle Sidney stood on line with
Saderi and the rest of the bunch.
.
When they were finally all done
With checkout they drove home
But stopped along the way.
To discuss how they Would proceed
The rest of they way. They agreed
To obtain more food. Damali put
His sense to the notion, "By any
Means necessary! Oh!!" They searched
The city for any open markets
They did find a warehouse. Wow!
The place was packed they went
Inside regardless. CJ said "this some
BS survival jungle every man for
Himself nonsense filled life."
Weeks passed although everybody
Was sure to have just one meal per
Day food became scarce in the
Damian deluxe dynasty anyway.
The children Chino Hoki Benawi
Ruby and Desharah canvassed their
Habitat with little joy. The found
Left over macaroni with cheese and
One box of cereal. Desharah explained
"Look everybody we don't have alot Of
Food. So I'll give everybody something.
Okay?" The kids were dispirited when
DJ and Damali burst through the
Door, "Hey everybody there's a
Food truck outside with aplenty food!"
Damian was coming down stairs
When her heard the announcement.
Damian bolstered, "Come on! Let's
Be about this!" They hurried out to
The gate. The man in the truck
Had an assortment of foods. CJ
Adonis Franky and other family
And cousin Dominic moved onto
The estate weeks ago. Damian
Damali and DJ collected bags of
Rice potatoes cheese chicken and
Oatmeal and 2 big bags of rice. (The truck
Was equipped With refrigeration)
Even 3 packs of lamb and
a large loaf of bread.
Damian had equal shares plus orange
Juice. After that the truck was empty
The man informed them, "There'll
Be deliveries every month."
